Iconic location in South Beach! Dress code especially at night, but during the day you can sit on the outdoor patio in flip flop and shorts. They have a take out place next door that's just as good. The service here is pretty excellent too. The wait staff was very professional and knew the menu well and could answer any questions. The restaurant is slightly overpriced, but your only able to get stone crab around the keys so it's justified imo. We went here for lunch and shared some Large Stone Crab, their Bisque, and a Wedge Salad. There's complimentary bread too that's pretty great. The Stone Crab is a bit sweeter than your regular crab and is paired with a mustard sauce. Tasty combo with a spritz of lemon. It was the perfect size meal to split! I would come back since it's just so well known and classic South Beach dining location.

Overall my friends and I enjoyed our experience at Joe’s. The service was excellent and the food was top quality and delicious. The reason for only 3 stars would be our potato hash browns were burnt as you can see and we’re not seasoned. Also, my friend and I were told the seafood combo was enough to share when really it wasn’t (as one entree for 2 people). The sides were plentiful to share, it was some of the best creamed spinach and brussel sprouts we have ever had. They key lime pie was great too. The seafood was excellent quality and delicious, I just wish they would’ve said, “this is about two pieces of each seafood item” then we would’ve ordered more. Other than that it was excellent and we will return.

Ordered the Large crab. Portions are good sized (5-6 claws). Also got the scallops, which tasted incredible! And the spinach side was really good too. Pricy (as expected) but great food and outstanding service. Reservations strongly recommended. If weather is nice, the outdoor seating area is a very good option!

This is definitely an experience. Are the stone crabs worth the price? Hard to say, because taste is subjective. However, they are the best crab anything I've had in many many years. The sauce they come with is very good, but honestly they don't need it at all. Their flavor is that good. The key lime martini, also perfection. Most of the staff are nice, but a few seem a little less than thrilled to be here on a Wednesday afternoon. Dinner starts at 5pm Note: unlike most places in Miami the bill doesn't include gratuity.

What an experience. I ventured around South Beach for a few days having no success in eating some good seafood. So tried here and it was good. I had never had stone crabs, so i gave them a try. They were good, not as sweet as regular crabs legs but, meaty and more easily accessible then regular crab legs. They were also served cold, which I would’ve preferred them hot and seasoned, but the accompanying sauce tho was delicious. I did the meal deal which consisted of coleslaw, creamed spinach, fried potatoes, stone crabs, and key lime pie for around $80. A pretty good deal. The place has a fascinating history, and beautiful ambience. Service was spectacular and the fact they were in suits gave such a nice old school appeal. The tables were set with linens which was also nice, only draw back would be their flatware, which was frankly quite bland/ugly. I’d definitely go back but to try their other seafood.

If you love crab, you will not find anything better in Miami. Joe’s has the freshest and tastiest crab you can get, and the quality is superior. The best part about this fancy restaurant is that they also have a “takeaway” restaurant adjacent to the main one, allowing for a more casual dining experience while still boasting incredible quality. We got some stone crab claws but I forget to get a photo as we were devouring the incredible meat. I also got their crab cakes which are 2 huge crab cakes that are 95% crab. I appreciate that they don’t skimp on the crab meat for these, as other restaurants in the US put little crab. The breading on them was excellent and crispy, and the homemade tartar sauce was out of this world. We also got their skinny fried sweets (sweet potato fries). These are so delicious, especially since they are lightly coated in cinnamon sugar. Overall, the experience was phenomenal and the crab is to die for. You do not want to miss this opportunity if you are in the area!

Seriously, don't bother. This has been the most disappointing meal of our Miami trip. Cold bread with foil butter packets and crackers in plastic. When you're spending ~$75 on an entree? Ridiculous. The cole slaw came "deconstructed" which was a pile of soggy cabbage with a lump of mayo and chopped pickles on top. The pic is after I mixed it together. The restaurant thinks too highly of itself, but does not deliver on the basic touches of a high-end dinner. The stone crab was okay, but honestly seemed like it had been frozen based on the texture. I am passionate about good food, ambiance, and great service. This restaurant lacked in all categories.

My friends and I had a reservation for a weekday evening which didn't seem TOO busy. We waited for a bit to have us sit down but they did give us an option to sit indoors or outdoors. So we decided to sit down outdoors per requested since the weather seemed nice. We had a lovely waiter that provided us recs throughout our dinner experience as well as delicious bread as start offs. The Mussels and Stone Crabs are a must when you're here! Other fun add ons were lobster mac & cheese, and sea scallops. We also had spinach and fried chicken but weren't as impression comparatively to the other dishes we had. If you're around the area, I'd highly recommend checking this restaurant out!

This place ROCKS! I actually like the take away place next to the restaurant better because you don’t have to wait 1 hour for reservations on some nights. And the takeaway place has a full bar for those that need their fix 😜 Stone Crab Select or Large is best to share with 2 people. Comes with melted butter and their delicious mustard sauce; also comes with a challah and onion roll. Yum 🤤 Creamed garlic spinach is to die for! & fries 🍟 are crispy. Side portions are hefty which I’m grateful for 👌🏻

100 year old+ restaurants that are “must gos” too often trade on their brand/name and deliver an underwhelming dinning experience. Joe’s doesn’t. This South Beach staple fully lives up to its reputation. The food is excellent, especially the signature stone crabs and key lime pie. The service is quick, thoughtful, and surprisingly personal given the size of the operation. 100% worth a visit when in the area

My husband and I finally got to visit Joe’s and it’s definitely a must when visiting Miami. Of course we got the stone crab which was served cold with a delicious mustard/ mayo sauce. We also got the snow crab boil - the broth was perfectly salty so you could dip the potatoes and corn in it. The clam chowder was my favorite - it was as good Pike Place clam chowder in Seattle which is the best clam chowder I have tasted. We ended our delicious feast with a slice of their famous key lime pie. I am not a fan of pies but this was a perfect combination of tart , sweet and creamy with a nutty Graham cracker base. We will definitely be back here again on our next Miami visit.

Well they say if you go to Miami and have not been to Joe’s Stone Crab you missed something big! So we decided to go with a reservation this time and not be disappointed like last time. Firstly what was great they have their own parking spots for customers so that was easy instead of driving around and looking for parking. When we arrived we got a warm welcome from the guys and were seated promptly Our server seemed knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the restaurant so we did learn how old it was and who it was run by now. Our waiter did mess by forgetting twice when we asked for two things and he had to be reminded of but apart from that food came pretty quick and the wait staff were very efficient in clearing our table and refilling water. Everything we ordered came fresh and quick and one could taste the freshness in every dish. Oh yes, the key lime pie was one of the best I have eaten so far. So smooth and the lime taste was not overpowering. Creamed spinach was so delicious and so were the crab cakes, coconut shrimp (loved the size of the shrimps and was cooked to perfection), hash brown (not a fan of hash brown but I really loved it), crabs claws and the corn! The bread basket had some really unusual breads in it and believe it or not I enjoyed them so much and asked for a second round and they obliged very promptly. Overall experience was just amazing and would definitely return when I visit Miami next.

Amazing place, food, and service! From the moment you walk in you are greeted and escorted as if it were a high class hotel. The bread basket is fresh and delicious - I recommend the biscuit. Since it was our first time, the waiter Sebastian made sure to tell us all about the restaurant and its history as well as some information on the different types of crab they offer. We got the king crab boiled with garlic and the jumbo stone crab chilled. Super fresh, amazing quality, and delicious butter/mustard sauce! We also got the grilled salmon and my boyfriend said it was the best salmon he’s ever had - he loves salmon. The sweet potato fries also top notch. Oh and I cannot forget!! The bisque was fantastic and I’ll be thinking about it until I go back again :) We didn’t have any room for dessert but hope we do next time! I must say inside is pretty chilly but you get used to it after a while. If you love quality crab and a great time overall come here please!!

The one, the only, the original… For 100 years. Joe's Stone crab has been a Legend in its own right. if you get there at opening time, you'll see all of the waiters and waitresses dressed in their black tuxedos in a straight line waiting to be paired with guests as they are escorted to their tables. The fried chicken is the best and still a bargain at $8.95.. The stone crabs are expensive but always delicious. The lobster roll was overly salty and And expensive… (Will not be trying that again). i Will definitely be back when the restaurant is open for take away only during the off-season... (which is the only time you can get the most amazing Kobe dog you'll ever have [in my opinion]) 👍🏻👍🏻 updating my review to include burger pic. delicious.

Went in on 4/15 for dinner at 9pm ordered the jumbo stone crab claws the fried lobster and lobster mac and cheese. Some drinks and a couple sides. Our food was absolutely delicious. And based off of this I would have gone back. But after looking at my bank account the next day I noticed that there was a charge for my meal and the correct amount. But there was a completely different second charge for over $300 on my card. I have called 6 times and been transferred to a voicemail of a lady who won't call me back. So it's been 7 days now with $300 taken out of my account for no reason. Once again. The food was great. The second charge of $300 and no response from anyone there is not.

Have been coming here since the mid 90s with my family and this place never disappoints. From the apps to desserts you cannot go wrong with any item on the menu. Start with the fried calamari and then go for the stone crabs with their house made mustard aioli and grab a few sides to make the experience better. To end I recommend the key lime pie or brownie sundae. Enjoy!

Joes stone crab is a true classic. Never had stone crabs before. It was so sweet. Seafood paella was also really good! Key lime pie was classic too!

Quite a positive experience, then, despite the reservation we had to wait and it wasn't clear why. Fresh and good food, honestly I expected better given the reviews. I think it's a little overpriced for what you ate. The waitress who took care of us was one of the highlights, really kind and good with recommendations.

A 110-year-old restaurant, you can't ask for more tradition than that. My mother took me there 25 years ago and it's still the best to eat Stone Crabs. To that you add all their other traditional dishes that are also excellent. And now you also add fried chicken... yes... fried chicken. A seafood restaurant that has fried chicken on its menu is that they found the recipe and preparation of one of the best, for me it can only be compared to that of Chef Art Smith's. Special mention to the best waiter in Miami: Braly. In a restaurant with that amount of people traffic, so many tables and protocols, he leads to an excellent experience with great human connection.

We have been to Joe's several times, but today was our first time trying their Miami Spice menu, and our first time having Leighton as our server. Both were excellent, especially Leighton's service and above-and-beyond friendly demeanor. As always, we also thoroughly enjoyed the select crab, fried chicken, and key lime pie!

My husband and I ate here while on vacation in Miami. We shared the seafood tower and ordered a couple of sides to share. It was perfect! We wanted to try all the seafood items and this was a great way to do it. All of the waitstaff was kind and personable. I would highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to eat here! We did have a reservation and we’re seated right on time!

Great experience staff was very kind. Evan was very friendly and welcoming, took us to our table right away. Nick was our server, we was polite and helpful. Our waters never ran low and our table was always being cleaned. As for the food was great. We ordered the classic stone crab and enjoyed it. I also ordered a burger which was alright (but it's a crab place I wouldn't expect too much of it LOL) Overall the ambience of the restaurant was very nice and we both had a great time!

Always great. Our server Michael Lee was amazing. He helped us order appetizers, meals and desserts that fit us. He explained everything perfectly. He was all over the place making sure everyone at our table had everything they needed. My wife can't eat seafood and mike made sure she ate good and felt comfortable about no allergy issues. He suggest good drinks. Our table had the Salmon, stone crab, burgers and salads along with a bunch of different side. The skinny sweet fries we so good. Well all the food was good. The creme brulee, bread pudding, key lime pie, and lava cake for desserts. Wow. All good but bread pudding was the best. Overall loved it. Thanks to all the staff at Joe's and thanks again big Michael.

Serving South Beach Since 1913. We have eaten here on every trip. The food and the atmosphere are second to none. We have been blessed to eat at some of the top restaurants in the world and Joe's just never disappoints.

Absolutely the best seafood restaurant I have ever had the opportunity to eat at. From start to finish the meal was outstanding. Had the stone crabs and they blew my mind with their sweetness and greatness. I've had stone crabs from Houston, TX the Gulf area and these don't even compare. Was not sure on the mustard sauce that is served with them but that too blew my mind away with it's own great flavor. The lobster roll was full of lobster and to finish it off the key line pine was off the hook definitely one of the best if not the best seafood restaurant anywhere.

Absolutely delicious. We were so impressed by the efficiency, and the teamwork of the staff! It was truly amazing. Everything was so great on the pallet and beautifully plated. I cannot remember our waiters name for the life of me, but he was hilarious and so great at his job. We cannot wait to come back!!!!

My 1st time here at this historic restaurant. From the time we walked into the restaurant the staff was pleasant and attentive. Our server, Edith, was beyond knowledgeable, extremely pleasant, had a wonderful personality and I felt like I knew her all my life. Her suggestions and knowledge of the menu was amazing. The food. Was phenomenal and plentiful, delicious flavors and to top off with the key lime pie. Just the right touch of key lime. Highly recommend.

This is the definition of a classic Miami staple! We have a Joe's in Chicago, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Miami Beach location. All the food was on point, from appetizer to dessert. We had the Jumbo and Large Stone Crab claws, and they were ridiculous. Yes, we are in the middle of the season, so it is a particularly good time to visit. The service is also on point. The team that took care of us were awesomely attentive. They are the core that kept this place open for over 100-years. I have been coming here for 45 years, and will still be coming back until they close or until my death. If you have never been to Joe's, and have been to Miami, you should feel ashamed and make reservations right away and go. If you don't, you will regret that decision for the rest of your life.

So we tried to eat at the main restaurant but it was full. However, the takeout area has seating available where you can just order some food and sit yourself. If you're not looking for an elegant dine-in experience but just want to try some of their stone crabs or other seafood, the takeout area is perfect.

Miami Beach and Joe’s Stone crab are sight to see. The weather is gorgeous, the water is aquamarine blue, and the stone crabs are wonderful. The place is alive with energy the wait staff work hand-in-hand together to deliver a smooth tasty experience. I’ve been here several times they are practicing social distancing and you still get five star service with excellent food. I would totally recommend a trip to Joe’s when you’re in South Florida enjoy!

All I can say is WOW! If you've never been to Joe's Stone Crab on South Beach, it is Must!! You can do the out or dine in. If you've never been, you should definitely experience dinning in. The service is impeccable, my waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly! The food was phenomenal as well! Order the jumbo stone crabs it is so worth it! They had so much meat, and dont forget to dip them in the mustard sauce! The creamed spinach, lobster mac & cheese, and hashbrowns are all phenomenal sides! Definitely don't forget the Key lime pie, an absolute must!! We will be back soon!!

Started great. Really excited and downhill. I can eat. The seafood tower is a snack for a food person. But excellent stone crab amazing as advertised, not huge cold food person. It was delicious. Crabcakes coating was nuts and cook in peanut. Got scallops. Added pingh of salt. Cooked perfectly just blah. just say i left hungry and mildly disappointed.

We come here once a year during visiting Miami for ArtBasel. It is tradition. And one of our favorites! Place is classic and seafood is fresh! Cocktails are great! Bloody Mary🫶🏻👍🏻

Joe's Stone Crab has existed for generations. And of course their staying power is their food. Still, not everything is good. The stone crab is some of the best I've ever had. But with that said, I can't say that for everything. Today I had the seafood paella. The flavor profile was fair, but nothing could offset how horribly over cooked, the proteins were rubbery and the rice was like mush. Definitely NOT a good meal. I still rate the food high because I've dined here enough times to know that they do serve some outstanding dishes.
