Water Lion might be the most Oscar award winning hidden gem in Miami Beach. Every bite was ridiculous- creative, well thought out and gratifying. We have had A LOT of oysters in our day and there were the best shucked ones (also insanely delicious). Izzy treats you like an old friend with great local recommendations in Miami beach and within the confines of the water lion’s bar and tasty menu. Run, don’t walk to this sweet spot with the best bites. Did I mention that the owner has a wonderful knowledge of wines and helpful taste while you decide?? If only life could be this easy all the time….

This place is freaking AWESOME! Here's why: everyone that works there makes you feel welcome, great conversations are had, it's beautifully decorated, doesn't break the pocket book and there aren't any Miami hidden fees. And, OH, they won best Bar in Miami! Do yourself a favor and check it out! Have several wine flights -- they're delicious! Abbe can make you a tasty Margarita while you nibble on delicious deviled eggs and pickled veggies.

Dope spot, tucked away. Independently owned (so not a cheap hotel bar). The drinks, the staff, the music, um the SHRIMP DIP! Do you self a favor and try the Michelada. As an Arizona boy this crafted twist was a life changing experience. Always appreciate a great cocktail twist to a classic. If you have time, grab an Old Fashion and a Kamikaze Dragon. As a Somm and a person that likes to seek out cocktail bars that take their craft serious, this place is a must!!

So happy to have discovered water lion!!!! Great wine selection, delicious food, and always a chill, laidback vibe when I come. The bartenders are super friendly and happy to talk to you about wine. And yes, they have natty wine and orange wine :) I had the spicy deviled eggs and a meat & cheese board recently. Both were excellent. Oh also go for Tarot Tuesday if you are curious to have a reading done!!

Absolutely an indulgent experience. Philip and the young lady are extremely knowledgeable and delight in their profession. Very laid back, middle of the day bar to experience great appetizers and phenomenal wines or cocktails. Extremely underrated, I urge all to give it a try. You will not be disappointed! The best of the best on the strip.

Had the best experience here!! I came for a tarot card reading on Tarot Tuesday, and not only was the reading by Abbie incredible, insightful, and quite therapeutic, but the establishment was exactly what I’ve been missing living in Miami. I had easy and enjoyable conversation with Derek and Philip who were working the bar that night, and although I showed up alone, I feel as though I left with new friends. It was so nice to be in a place in Miami Beach with such a relaxed and open energy. With it’s extremely welcoming staff and atmosphere, this is definitely going to be a place I will be visiting regularly and would recommend to others whether they’re locals or just visiting.

This is my go-to for great wine and tapas. The beer and wine selection is superb. The cocktail menu focuses on saki drinks, but the do have a full bar with a limited liquor selection. I personally love the spicy deviled eggs and duck liver paté. The atmosphere is groovy yet cozy and the service is absolute top notch!

Great hidden gem located inside the Sagamore hotel. They have a great happy hour with food and drinks at reasonable prices. Bartenders are friendly and efficient.

Our review is a little delayed, but here it goes! Abbe and Filip were amazing hosts for our cocktail hour reception prior to our wedding in Miami beach this past April. We had serendipitously met Abbe and Filip right before they opened Water Lion and had amazing experiences visiting them when they first opened. From the time they opened we knew this was a hidden gem and wanted our friends/family to experience this on their trip to Miami Beach. For our cocktail hour we worked with them to host a private event for our guests with cocktails, wine/beer, and hors d'oeuvres. As always, they were gracious hosts who engaged with our family/friends and truly made the experience unforgettable with amazing conversation and laughs. To this day everyone still raves about how amazing the food (the shrimp dip!!) and drinks were - especially the micheladas! As always - THANK YOU and we can't wait to see you again soon!!

I am just completely a months stay in south beach. I was looking for a wine bar and found the Water Lion. It turned out to be more than just a wine bar but rather my favorite place to have a drink and wonderful food. Any place can serve a drink but I kept coming back because of the people Abbe, Filip and their entire staff were exceptional with their service. The atmosphere was stylish and modern, the food was freshly prepared ,it was fun to see Filip and Issy put their own creativity into each dish. I travel a lot and for me my greatest joy is meeting authentic fun people. Abbe, Filip and all the guys thanks for making the Water Lion my home away from home! Steve

Definitely a hidden Gem in Miami!! Abbey and Phillip are the Absolute Best!! They helped me bring my Birthday to a close ….with the Best Cheesecake and Conversation! You made my vacation awesome. Adam & I found this amazing hidden gem while we were walking around Miami. The Food, Cocktails & Ambience were just what we were looking for, for the perfect afternoon snack & cocktail hour. Abbe & Filip made us feel like we were at home and special guests and treated us to a full experience showcasing their incredible cocktail program and amazing foods made right behind the bar. We highly recommend the oysters, the duck live mousse, cucumber salad, chopped shrimp dip, Prosciutto Deviled Eggs & the most delicious pot of NYC style cheesecake.

We just had a tremendously satisfying experience at Water Lion. We stopped in for a drink before dinner and ended up having three! I tried 3 different sake-based cocktails and the quality and creativity was immediately apparent. The place has a nice vibe and Abbe and Filip were excellent hosts … they even let us sample their prosciutto & melon as well as a spicy deviled egg (best I’ve ever had). We enjoyed it so much that we returned after dinner for one more drink AND a plate of the prosciutto & melon. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite spots in Miami Beach food is so delicious and always fresh I love their food options still truffle deviled eggs omg such a treat food presentation is great, they make home made pickle food greatest quality BRAVO 🙌🏼 I love their Michelada one of the best in town. It amazes me how clean and neat all place is which always make me feel heavenly divine. Stuff is made of absolute professionals which are always fun to chat with and learn. I ll give 1 000 000 🌟 if I could. Perfection is sinonim for this great spot !! Thank you for your great hospitality always

One of the best experiences I ever had ! I came here after a long day with the kids and met Christian! From the time I walked In and He welcomed me with a smile and great service ! The deviled eggs we’re so good with the truffle! I never tried truffle and it was so good! I explained to Christian that I was going to a wine tasting and he told me they had wine tasting! The wine tasting was amazing .. they explained to me step by step what I was drinking and where it originated from! I would come back to the sagemore hotel just for this service! Please if you stay at the sagamore or if you want great service please stop in and tell Christian Clarissa sent you ! Ask for his specialty drink as well!!! Best night!!!

Everything about this place is amazing. The atmosphere, the service. It was the highlight of our trip. It has beautiful aesthetics. Philip has been super welcoming. I can’t wait to be back in Miami to come back here!

Truly excellent experience overall. Philip is an incredible expert and a pleasure to talk to. The wine list is the best I've seen in the United States and the small bites menu is inspired. We could have stayed there all night if we didn't have dinner plans. 10/10 will return and recommend to anyone traveling to Miami.
