The check-in staff was nice. The LPN male nurse was very attentive. The PA was caring and knowledgable. My issue was with the attending female Dr. My five year old son fell on my baby by accident and we wanted to make sure he was okay and rule out a head injury. Everything was fine until the attending Dr. came in and told me and My husband how to raise our son to make sure accidents like this do not happen. Okay… Not to mention a whole lot of other negative comments. She even told me why I didn't go to the ER. He ended up being fine; thank goodness and they wanted to keep him for another hour for an observation just in case. It was already going on two hrs there and I began to explain that I rather not stay if it really wasn't warranted because my mom who is battling cancer; feeling tired and probably in pain is watching my other children. She could care less and walked through the door without hearing my concern. She said a smart remark like " that's why you came right" What kind of a Dr. lacks compassion for their patients? My husband was livid and we left against medical advice because of such rude service. We signed discharge papers as the nurses shook their heads looking at my baby as if we were the worst parents. Very disappointed with Miami Children's Urgent Care in Miami Lakes 😔

I have visited this institution about 3 times now. I have always been pleased with the attention we have received so far until today. This review is solely based on the experience from today. I visited the urgent care center yesterday night due to my son's pediatrician being out of town for a convention for 1 week. The visit went perfect as usual. My son was prescribed antibiotics and ibuprofen for the fever. When I went to pick up the medicines at around midnight I found the prescription for ibuprofen was not sent electronically and I had to purchased over the counter as my baby needed it. I called today to request the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy and spoke with 2 different nurses. The first just transferred to a second one who was like a robot repeating they do not prescribe it as it can be purchased over the counter. Why would I spend on a medicine that the insurance I pay for monthly would cover? She said I would need to request from the pediatrician. Even when I mentioned the pediatrician is out of town for a week she would not help, she repeated "over the counter". I am very disappointed.

I love the speed of that urgent care, it is very convenient, Doctor Jose, I don't remember his last name, because of his accent I know that he is Venezuelan if I'm not mistaken, it was the best thing that has happened to me in that urgent care, I wish as long as I was there he would be 🙏🏻perfect is not enough

Nice facility, but totally unprofessional staff. The nurse assistant who checked my kid vitals poked his eye with the blood pressure kit as she tried to put on his face mask with the same hand she was holding the kit with. I had to literally grab her arm and pull it away from the boy's face before she actually could hurt his cornea. She was offended and didn't acknowledge her mistake or apologized to us for being so unprofessional. The male nurse who later administered the medicine called my child "SILLY" because he was crying after he took a swab sample...how disrespectful and unethical. I am totally disappointed, and outraged....and what is worse; the prescribed antibiotic never worked. 3 days later the boy still had fever, he went from a throat infection to an ear infection. We had to take him to Miramar memorial hospital, where the doctor prescribed a different antibiotic because according to her, the one they gave us at Nicklaus children hospital was no longer being used to treat this type of infection because bacteria are already resistant to it. What a shame to be treated like this and still get an expensive bill for it, I guess this is the great America Trump touts about. Never going back there. Parents beware! If you take your kids there keep your eyes open because these people don't realize the great responsibility that it is to treat with little kids. This is a chop-chop hospital...hope the administration takes notice before the get a legal sue.

Worst hospital for kids ever. My kid had a very dried cough and he was drawing from it. Even was vomiting and they didn’t care. They do not take care of him the right away, form them it was not an emergency and I’m not even exaggerating at all but my kid was super bad fever and everything and they made me wait 4 hours and they charged insurance like crazy. Not even medicine sent to my baby. The dr was a lady and wow She shouldn’t be there not human kindness at all.

This location has messed up on multiple occasions with our children and we will not be going back again. Most recently our son came in with a fever. To make a long story short, they never tested him and then came in to our room to tell us he was negative for flu and covid???? When my wife told them how could he be negative when she was still waiting for the nurse to return and test him, the tried to make it seem like she was crazy and that they had his test results only to finally speak with the nurse that was supposed to test him and find out he still had not gone in to test him. What kind of joke is this place? It’s not the first time they’ve tried to get rid of us without doing any work and charging our insurance, but it will be the last. Save yourself some time and find another urgent care for your kids.

The two nurses who run the first set of vitals are rude and don’t know how to work with children. I have been there over 7 times since I have two kids, and they are always unwelcoming. They need different jobs. The doctor and nurse who worked with us once inside, were excellent.

This place is HORRIBLE! If your child needs help in any kind of hurry DO NOT COME HERE. They ask at the door if there is possible COVID if you say yes you are told wait in your car. They leave you waiting in the car even if like me you were there before they even opened. They were letting regular patients in and the 3 covid patients were all left in the parking lot waiting. When I finally called they said all rooms were filled that I had 5 people in front of me and things are very backed up and that it was going to take a while. How is that possible i was one of the first few people there. The point is they dont want to see patients that may have COVID, even though I was really there because my 3 year old was complaining of pain when she urinates. So now regular pediatricians wont see sick kids, now urgent cares wont see kids that possibly have COVID. What are we supposed to do? They left us waiting hoping we would leave and that's exactly what i had to do with my 3 year old who is in pain. Thanks Miami CHILDRENS way too go being there for the CHILDREN!

I took my daughter because she was nauseous for 2 days on and off. When I arrived at the front desk to check in, the lady asked for my license and insurance. My wife is a health professional so we have good insurance which we pay over $700 a month. The lady checks in my daughter and tells me later we’ll see about the insurance don’t worry, I have to verify. So she sent my daughter in for treatment without telling me that I would have to be responsible for payments if later they decide not to take my insurance. That’s wrong because this was not an emergency. I could’ve gone else where for treatment that accepts my insurance. Long story short at discharge they charged my wife $319 dollar and told her later they will send a bill for all the other stuff they did. That’s wrong and is a scam you only treat patients without verifying coverage when it’s an emergency. Be aware of their tricks to get you to stay and charge you. Don’t make the same mistakes. Verify before any treatment. When I went back to question the lady I heard her telling another family at check in the same thing “don’t worry I’ll see you later about the cost and insurance.”

I been to this hospital before and never had such a bad experience as we did today by DR. Anjum, Shahida who treated us with absolutely no interest. We arrived at the hospital at 9:30pm and for that matter she was treating us in a hurry, she was actually in such hurry that she didn’t even go back to the room to talk to us about the results, the nurse just came in with discharged papers wanting to get rid of us fast since everyone just wanted to go home. After we argued for the bad service, they told us that we should have arrived earlier and not at 9:30 because they close at 10pm. This is just incredible and so unprofessional. The floor nurse had to come in and she was the only professional one in this place today. Would think twice to come back here.

Honestly I have to say that this place is full of unprofessional nurses and doctors . Just talking around about their personal stuff, laughing and gossiping around. My son was in pain and they took forever to come into the room. Best part of the history just a few patients. This hospital is going downhill …

Arrived with my daughter at 8:15 PM. She presented headaches, back pain, and chills. The waiting room was clean and organized, around 4 or 5 patients were ahead of us. Registration took our information and had us sit by the waiting room. At 8:45 PM we were called to the nurse station for the vitals and triage ( very professional and patient nurses) after that we had to go back to the waiting room since there were no rooms available. At 8:55 PM we were in room number 2 (this too was clean), nurses were talking outside but seemed very friendly. The doctor came in and made the diagnosis after a thorough visit. I'm very happy with this facility. ☺️

We had to take my son in on a Saturday afternoon due to a high fever. The staff was friendly and the whole ordeal took a little over an hour. I will definitely take my son back if needed in the future. Also, the doctor who saw us was so nice and patient and asked a lot of questions. This hasn’t been my experience in other urgent cares.

Visited this place because it’s the closest to where I live. My daughter have had a fever over 100 Fahrenheit for 3 days straight hence the reason for the visit. A pediatrician saw her while wearing a mask and a shield (for COVID) and “smelled” her diaper saying there was no infection. How could she tell there was no infection supposedly smelling through 2 covers over her nose? On top of that she said to wait another 2 days to come back if she still had fever. Not pleased with her input and instead following my wife’s who’s a nurse and expected an infection, we took out daughter first thing in the morning the next day to her pediatrician and sure enough she had a urinary infection. They billed us over $400 dollars for a mediocre job from a so called specialist.

The service experience is good, but on the Internet it tells you that it is open and when you arrive at 10:30 am it is closed, it would be ideal if they updated the hours for better service.
