NIGHTMARE
AT
KENDALL
REGIONAL
HOSPITAL…
My
mother
who’s
is
93
years
old,
went
in
last
Saturday
night
through
Emergency
with
a
bit
of
confusion,
she
was
recovering
from
an
ear
infection.
She
was
ordered
a
CT
Scan
of
the
brain
and
other
tests
which
all
resulted
Negative.
The
ER
doctor
suggested
an
MRI
to
be
done
within
the
next
couple
of
hours
to
rule
out
anything
that
wasn’t
caught
in
the
CT
Scan.
We
agreed
and
was
assured
she
would
be
going
home
Sunday
afternoon
to
give
the
attending
Dr
enough
time
to
read
the
results.
Of
course,
I
couldn’t
stay
with
her
due
to
Covid
19
restrictions,
but
I
was
reassured
I
could
call
the
Nurses
station
on
her
floor
to
get
updates
on
the
tests.
Long
story
short,
my
mother
didn’t
get
the
test
until
7
pm
on
Sunday,
we
couldn’t
speak
with
her
nor
anyone
knew
anything
that
was
going
on,
they
kept
on
saying
she
was
disoriented.
AA
I
insisted
on
speaking
with
her
and
finally
her
day
nurse
of
Monday
put
her
on
the
phone
to
speak
with
me.
My
mother
could
hardly
speak,
she
was
crying
desperately
asking
me
to
take
her
out
of
that
place,
she
said
she
asked
to
go
to
the
bathroom,
for
water,
to
sit
for
a
while,
but
she
was
ignored.
I
asked
to
speak
to
the
Drs
and
after
a
long
battle
with
back
and
forth
calls
with
her
nurse,
(who
was
a
sweetheart)
the
neurologist
called
to
say
there
was
nothing
wrong
with
her.
Immediately
after,
the
attending
Physician
called
saying
she
had
to
speak
with
the
neurologist
so
they
both
sign
the
release,
hours
went
by
and
the
attending
physician
wouldn’t
sign
the
paper.
I
was
afraid
of
7pm
coming
around
knowing
the
shift
would
change
and
I
would
have
to
start
all
over
again
delaying
my
mother’s
release.
Finally
her
morning
nurse
called
to
let
me
know
my
mom
was
ready
to
be
picked
up,
but
to
call
at
7:30
so
the
evening
nurse
would
wheel
her
down.
I
called
the
nurses
station
at
7:30
and
asked
for
her
new
shift
nurse,
and
at
the
nurses
station
they
refused
to
put
her
on
I
was
asked
to
call
back
between
8:30
and
9:00.
I
was
desperate
and
called
back
at
8:00
and
coincidentally
her
nurse
picked
up
and
said
my
mom
had
been
ready
since
7:00pm
before
the
morning
nurse
left
the
floor,
she
said
she
had
been
waiting
for
me
since
then.
Finally
my
mother
was
wheeled
down
and
I
started
crying
when
I
saw
her,
I
thought
I
was
going
to
throw
up
and
faint.
My
mother
was
covered
in
urine,
her
teeth
weren’t
washed,
she
smelled
like
a
sewer
and
her
clothes
were
filthy
dirty.
Her
nurse,
with
teary
eyes,
apologized
for
my
moms
condition.
THANK
GOD,
my
mother
has
recovered
well
after
that
awful
experience.
She
asks
to
please
promise
her
we
will
never
allow
anyone
to
take
her
to
that
hell
hole.
She
continues
with
her
daily
life,
driving,
and
with
a
clear
head.
Thank
God
she
is
very
healthy
and
strong,
and
only
suffers
from
old
age
and
lacks
hearing
in
one
ear.
PLEASE
DO
NOT
take
any
loved
one,
whether
a
family
member
or
friend
to
this
place,
especially
if
you
are
not
allowed
to
be
with
them
to
supervise.
SAVE
YOUR
LOVED
ONE
AND
YOURSELF
FROM
AN
AWFUL
AND
STRESSFUL
EXPERIENCE.
