Quick note: it's located inside the office/restaurant building, towards the back left** Beautiful artwork currently on display and the museum rep was so welcoming and knowledgeable. It cost us $10/ea to view the work but she gave background around the artist and was able to really tie together Haitian and Black American experiences and cultural references. Happy we found this place!! Although it was certainly difficult to locate. More cultural museums lead by people from culture and the area is needed!! She gave such good insight, thanks for an enlightening experience :)

I didn’t know much about Haiti, beside the generic stuff they teach you about the revolution. This exhibit was very well done. Serge was a very good tour guide. He knew all his information and delivered it in a very candid way. The exhibit is $10 and so worth it. If you love history you should definitely check out this museum if your in Wynwood area in Miami.

I tip my hat to the founders of this museum! I love the location! Our family truly enjoyed our rime there! The tour was excellent! The co-founder was very knowledgeable and the tour was engaging. I will definitely visit again and tell others about it. We arrived at the museum at 430 pm and she took time to give us a detailed tour and answered our questions. I'm grateful to have a heritage museum to take my children for such a positive view of Haiti.

it's a shame! At the fanciest area close to little Haiti neighborhood, it's just a small gallery inside this building that looks like a mall -- super sad.

Nestled toward end of atrium bend within the 4141 Building in Miami Design District is the Haitian Heritage Museum. It has resided there approaching two decades as a bridge back to prior zoning in preserving and highlighting Haiti's rich culture as well as a platform linking the Diaspora. The moving exhibit "Introspective Noir" (Dec 2021 -- Feb 2022) provoked self-awareness and identity narratives exposing Miami's diverse history and contributions of Afro Caribbeans and African Americans featuring visual artists Addonis Parker and Pierre Jean Baptiste. With a boutique footprint and rotating featured works, patron ($10) of this both Black and woman owned art space is recommended. Perfect pre or post dining activity as well as cultural highlight support during Black (February) and Haitian (June) Heritage Month.

My visit to the Haitian Heritage Museum was nothing short of exceptional. It not only deepened my appreciation for Haitian culture but also left me inspired to continue learning and exploring the diverse histories that enrich our world. Eveline's enthusiasm for Haitian culture was infectious, and her engaging storytelling brought the exhibit to life.

Awesome small museum! We were given a complementary tour and a lot of supporting information on Little Haiti. The front desk lady gave us the tour and was very nice!

The Haitian Heritage Museum was an amazing stop on my Miami trip. I learned so much pertaining to Haiti and the people. A good place to stop if you want to learn more about different cultures and to give yourself a history lesson. Evelyn was a joy to talk to, she walked myself and my group through and had so much knowledge and she’s super passionate about Haitian heritage! Small museum, but definitely an amazing stop! Plus the tour map you get to explore different Haitian restaurants/shops/ sites will keep you busy if you are truly looking to embrace the learning experience.

We visited this museum in the Miami design district. The owner was a very nice and conversational lady. We purchased this tour on Groupon. The owner showed us the different exhibit features which told a detailed and honestly brutal story of the plight of Haitians from slavery to independence. We were able to have a great conversation about the state of the world today and the huge influence Haiti has had on many black cultures gaining their independence and freedom from oppression. I would definitely recommend this museum gem to anyone visiting Miami that would love to learn about Haitian history. We also purchased a t shirt to patronize the museum.

Sadly just was not the type of museum I thought it was. It is just a room. Haitian Heritage is so much more and could fill up spaces over 4x of the "museum"(small room) that they have. It is informative but there is so much more that it is lacking.

The contents of museum were very powerful and taught me a lot. The space was inviting and clean, however, the co-founder Eveline was not. From the beginning, she was was waving my husband off covering her face as he was taking a picture of me and the front of the museum. I informed her that he was taking a photo of me and her response was "Oh it must be a wide view." I ignored her and continued in. She never greeted me and my family where as the young gentlemen working in the front was pleasant and greeted us well. I asked to plug in my laptop as I enjoyed the museum and the young man happily obliged. Almost one second later Eveline was against it and said the museum didn't have space for that. After explaining to her that I was just plugging in my laptop and not actually working on it, she begrudgingly agreed. I appreciated that gesture. As a co-founder I would expect some form of greeting and overall review of the museum before we began exploring, but nothing. We made our way through the museum and were captivated by the content. It was about 3:15pm at this time and Eveline questioned how long we were going to take. I asked her what time they closed and her response was 5pm. I was confused at her question because we had an hour and 45mins left to look. She then said she had a few emergencies come up and she had to close early. We had only been in the museum 30 mins. I asked how long we had, which she answered by asking me how long I was going to stay. I mentioned our parking was up at 3:45pm and she agreed to allow us to stay until then. Mind you, we have paid to enter. We did not come here for free, so to be rushed was terrible. Ever since then I felt I was on a timer. Around 3:40pm Eveline starts singing gospel. It wasn't loud in the beginning but then she got louder and louder. As the museum is based on photos and writing, I am not sure how she expected the only 3 people in the museum to read the information posted with loud singing in the background. The singing got louder as time went on. It was as if she was making it impossible for us to stay longer and take in the content. I would of have extended my parking time if I felt welcomed and finished the tour but I left before I asked her to stop singing. I didn't get a chance to take in the whole other side of the museum and regret that as I no longer live in the state. The content was amazing, the customer service by Eveline, not so much.

Visited and joined as part of Miami Museum Month and this is the only place on the campaign that I visited or attempted to visit that I would see again. (Not all museums honored free admission as insinuated by the Miami Tourism BOGO campaign, btw.) Evelyn was the perfect host, giving a knowledgeable and heartfelt personal tour of the very worthy exhibit honoring women. She spoke beautifully about each painting, all of which were approachable in price. Worth a trip from the beach even if you skip the design district.

We visited but there was a "We'll be back" sign. We waited for a good minute and then left. Because of how small it is we can literally "visit" the entire museum just by standing outside the glass doors. I liked the set-up, displays, and ambiance of the museum itself. However, I honestly didn't care for the location/building. Trying to find this museum was an adventure in itself. The museum wasn't on the business marquee that was immediately outside. Once we found it, and aside from the museum itself, the vibes of that entire building didn't feel welcoming as we navigated our way to the back of the building where the museum was located (and this was after it took us 10-15mins walking up and down the sidewalk trying to find it, I'm a south FL native but it's still too HOT to be doing all that lol). It felt like we were trespassing walking through the building with the upscale business workers in the building looking at us weird. If we're ever in town then we'll try again. I'm Haitian and from WPB, I definitely want to support. Just wished we could catch them when we decided to swing through. Unless there was an emergency which I understand, I recommend an approximate time of return be added on the door sign if they have to step out. Hopefully with continued support from the local community and sponsors they'll be in a more favorable location with proper signs to identify the building the museum is located in. In addition, add more displays because Haitian culture is SO much more than what was displayed. It feels like a disservice to us however I recognize that it's a start, so great job! But again, hopefully they gain more support over time.

We were really excited to visit this place. We planned our day around it and took Uber to get there, only to find the doors locked. I called a few times and no one answered the phone. I don't know if it was closed for lunch or closed permanently, but there was no sign on the door or any notice on the website. Google says its open today. Super disappointing... what a waste of time and money.

This place is THE WORST. Came twice in one day to see the one-room exhibit and no one was there. On a TUESDAY. They had a sign on the door saying they β€œwill be back shortly”, I then waited over 2 hours and no one showed up. Very unprofessional and a disgrace quite frankly. I hope they get closed down. Really just a waste of space!!!!

I visited this space several years ago. Very odd, hardly appears as a "museum." Hours listed stated it would be open. I entered (door was not locked of course), lights were dim. No one was there to greet me. Finally a woman appeared and rudely told me they were not open, and said that should have been obvious to me. Well, it wasn't because the hours stated they would be open, the door was open, and really there was just no one around in the complex anyway. She was very rude, unwelcoming, and I doubt I would go back. 2 stars for simply existing, I think a Haitian heritage museum is awesome. Hopefully they have improved.

This was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a museum and something which could scathe my two sons for life. Being a proud Haitian American, I wanted to visit the museum with my children, husband, and mother to see the beautiful heritage art. The artwork and messages therein were inspirational to us all. However our tour guide Eveline, decided to offer her ignorant opinion on how she thought my children and I were "diluted Haitians and not really Haitian". I was appalled and then hurt for my children... This was towards the end of our tour and I had no idea where that came from. To be quite honest, I felt embarrassed for her to say the least. Unfortunately, our visit was the first and last. Hopefully, such treatment isn't reflective of the attitudes of the proprietor of the museum. My family and I came to celebrate Haitian culture and heritage. We should be lifting each other, but instead I now travel home upset that such a vile woman is a spokesperson for our culture and in my honest opinion, I am ashamed of her.
