Honestly, I'm not sure why this hotel isn't getting higher ratings. We were a little hesitant to book based on the reviews, but our experience exceeded expectations. Past reviews have complained about poor service, but we didn't experience any of that here. I'd like to commend April for being especially kind and helpful throughout our stay, and she spoke perfect English too. The only thing that could have been better would be if the rooms were newer. However, the rooms are all spacious, have great views, and excellent value for the price. We were so satisfied that we extended our stay here!

Every room has a river view with a balcony. Rooms are tired and need renovation... But still a comfortable stay that is a great value. Some of the staff speak great English. A little far from the station... Usually take a taxi for 1600 yen.

We had booked one night at this hotel, and was really satisfied with our stay. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room, it was big and comfortable and had a wonderful view, where you could see the beautiful gorge. The hot springs are simple, but very nice. They provide you with two hot pools and one cold outside.

This hotel is located west side of Kinugawa river. A full service hot springs hotel with Kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast. They have men and women separate bathhouses, women have in and out door bath pools an all amenities that you dream of. Kaiseki dinner is beautifully prepared and very testy. One negative thing was room temperature. Whole hotel was heated and we didn’t have options for air conditioning.

One of the best views of the river. The hotel like many here is a little dated but the rooms and view are great. Very spacious. I have a little kid and he loves to run and play with his toys so having a bigger room (like a suite) to do so is awesome. The entrance is actually on 6th floor and has a store to buy snacks and beer, sake and souvenirs (heavy emphasis on food souvenirs). If you want sandwiches, bread, desserts etc, like a convenience store would have, this isn’t it BUT Lawson is a 4min walk from the hotel. Note: You must pay cash for anything you buy at this store. :( This hotel on the 1st floor has a sauna and a nice hot spring, indoor and outdoor with a view of the river. You can pick up your complimentary ukata robe 👘 by the front desk. The restaurant on 5th floor serves traditional Japanese cuisine that is very delicious.

I’d pay higher and find somewhere nicer if possible. Great view of the river but the hotel/rooms are aging and staff were not helpful. Though it’s cheap and you get what you pay for. Nice rotenburo looks out into the river.

It was a very nice hotel with a very Japanese feel. The customer service and food are all excellent. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
