I did originally give 5 star rating when the gym newly opened. but sadly after a year my views have completely changed. this gym is just not fit for purpose. The plot that they've acquired is far too small, B&m have atleast 80% of the premises . Also this gym has had to close down numerous times due to roofing problems(leaks), during heavy rain. As the gym is just far too small it just can't keep up with demand. Many of occasions I have visited during OFF PEAK hours and I have been unable to complete a workout as most machines and weights area were occupied. It's feels quite Claustrophobic and not enough room to move around. I live 2 mins away from this gym but I prefer to drive to the Cardiff bay pure gym which is 20 mins away. At least I'm able to get a good workout in consistently at the Cardiff bay gym which has two floors and more than enough equipment and space.

Fair amount of equipment in the gym but the gents changing rooms are really disgusting in the mornings. My girlfriend goes here too and she says theres never any toilet roll in the womens

Good gym. I want to continue coming. But the sound of the classes spill into the main gym and its louder than the music. Very overwhelming and unpleasant. I prefer to come when classes are not on.

Really good facilities and very large with plenty of space inside. I went on a Saturday morning, and it was pretty quiet. There were not many gym bunnies there when I visited. Separate areas for some classes and spin bikes. Everyone seemed very friendly and helpful

EXTREMELY overcrowded, puregym just ran a promotion of half price membership now its so overcrowded i’m gonna cancel my membership & go elsewhere, i’m talking 170 people in there at midnight, 280 people in there in the day time. Impossible to even work out

Easy to join online, good location with parking. App is fantastic as it provides workout plan to help achieve personal goal. Made my first trip to gym in 11 years an enjoyable experience.

I have been going to this club for a few months now, first I chose this gym only for yoga, Claudia is the yoga instructor of pure gym and she is amazing, patient and energetic, but then I tried other group sports as well. All the coaches in this gym are great

My recent experience at PureGym was disappointing. One major issue was that gym weights were not organized properly and were scattered all over the place, making it difficult to find what I needed.Furthermore there are no 60kg dumbells. Additionally, I found that the staff at this location were not very attentive. During my visit, I noticed that some staff members were just sitting in their room doing nothing at all. However, what really disappointed me was the behavior of the manager. Yesterday, while I was trying to leave the gym and typing in my exit code, the manager walked in with her drinks and completely disregarded my presence, showing a lack of respect and professionalism. Overall, I found this experience to be unacceptable. The disorganization and lack of attention from staff members, as well as the disrespectful behavior from the manager, i dont understand how this place is operating. I hope that PureGym takes these issues seriously and works to improve their services for their customers.

Did not like this gym at all. Strange layout, after a certain time changing rooms lock, which is fine but needs to be made more clear and when you ring for help they're really rude

Cleaner needs to get off his phone and out of the changing room and get some much needed cleaning done. Spends ages in the male changing room on his phone, wouldn't be so bad but they are never that clean and he is much needed on the gym floor...

Great new gym, really bright and open and clean. Great range of equipment for those at all levels. Really love the fact that the music isn't really loud unlike a few other gyms. The gym is up a flight of stairs but there is a lift of you need it. The changing rooms are clean and staff are helpful

Pure Gym is the best one all of them are it is the best gym in the whole of in Wales I would recommend it to anyone and it's very cheap and opened 24 hours

Good stuff. My first PureGym experience. Easy concept, good pricing. Equipment: 4/5, there are too many things missing compared to a full on gym. Starting with some decent cardio bikes (outside the spinning classroom), to more options for leg presses and hip thrusts. The space is available and would make the experience smoother. Whatever they have is in good condition. Cleanliness/ Maintenance: 3/5 for a PureGym ok for any other gym not ok. Changing rooms and showers would have benefited from some cleaning for sure. The water fountain (not their mixing machine) took its sweet time, some water pressure would work wonders. Atmosphere: 5/5 everyone was friendly, good atmosphere in the facility. May just have been Cardiff which was just lovely but it spread I to the gym.

It's a decent gym, excellent equipment but very oversubscribed. The mens changing room is bogging to be honest. Just because we're men doesn't mean we like to put up with grubby facilities! The hand dryer has been out of order for months. If you can't get parts then just buy a new one. Mind you, the sink area is grubby too, so I don't want to risk it! Showers have black mould and I'm sure the water temperature has been reduced to save money. Anyway as I stated at the start, it's a decent gym but it needs to up its game on cleanliness. Increase your prices if necessary.

Good gym but its been over a year and theres no wifi here. All gyms have wifi except this place. They say they will have one but ive been waiting monthssss

Better puregym than the one in Newport as I do not have to see a person with the initials LP. Was in the free weights area, and she grabbed Dumbbells at the same time as me and before I said hi, she walked off. Worst of it all, ‘Cold’ by Maroon 5 started playing in the gym speaker. Therefore automatic 5/5 as I do not have to see that Serving Wench, plus they also got friendly staff and friendly ‘roid’ heads and gym rats and not a lot of SARM goblins and Tripod Tricks.

Good gym, next to university. Not a bad gym, very cheap.

I like the gym, but unfortunately I have a problem with the car park in Western Unit1 Avenue Retail park. I have parked for 2hrs and 18mins and being charged £100 penalty and the limit time is 4 hours long. I have contacted the manager and send email more than a week ago and haven't replay back to me. I am really upset regarding this penalty it's really unfair. I am expecting some of the pure gym staff or manager to help me with this matter.

Great when it first opened, but it's clearly not a big enough premises for this busy location. It is now clearly over subscribed. I've just walked in and straight back out as there's no weight equipment free just a couple of cardio machines and it was only 2.30pm, not even peak time.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a cute lil gym. It’s very clean however it doesn’t have Wifi. Turned out doing cardio without the internet is harder than the actual cardio. They claim that the Wifi will come soon but that can take up to a year. So think about that before signing up. The other thing is that, unlike their other branches, they don’t play any music videos and at night there is no music at all so let’s say you forget your headphones, you have to work out in silence.

Good gym but the parking is max 2 hours I was 2:30 and a £100 fine will update as long as fine doesn’t come as the staff are friendly and very helpful the facility is clean and in reasonable good condition

Good selection of equipment. Yanga water is nice and refreshing. Only qualm is how crowded it can be, and not just during peak times, but pretty much anytime from 11ish until after 2200h on weekdays it’s quite crowded.

I decided to join the gym and asked my friends if anyone went to Puregym. All of them gave good reviews so I thought I'd join. I went to my first workout and sussed it all out. It was really nicely laid out, easy to follow instructions and clean and tidy. I've got my 1st class tomorrow which I'm excited for. The app is really good too, easy to book classes and the gym access is really cool.
