This is one of the nicer Nature Preserve hikes I have done in Indiana. Did the north trail 1.4 mi Lovely mature trees, creek, vernal pool, and some wildflowers were blooming. Thanks to the volunteers who maintain the trails and invasives, excellent job!!

I saw on eBird that this is a birding hotspot. It definitely is! Within five minutes I found a Canada Warbler, which is pretty cool and definitely not an everyday sighting in this part of the country. Some of the trails are muddy, but that's understandable case there's been a lot of rain in the whole area recently. Otherwise, the trails are quite easy. You might want to bring bug spray too.

Ambler Flatwoods was simply fascinating. The forest and decking through Wet areas and the PINE FOREST was great. Over 520 acres. It is a well kept secret.

Beautiful wooded path. Parking for about 6-7 cars. There was a ton of poison ivy close to the beginning of the path by the parking lot, but it cleared up as you went further in.

Beautiful little park...Anyone who appreciates nature will enjoy time spent here. Tons of interesting and unusual flora. Would be a suitable park for seniors as the loop isn’t incredibly long and there are no hills.

Ambler is real hidden gem. It’s an old growth forest that gives an excellent view of untouched nwi topography. There’s very little elevation change, making it easy for anyone and a cute section through a pine grove that has a eerie, yet fantastical feel. Rarely busy and a often prescribed walk for any busy soul needing a break.

Great little hike. Can do shorter loops, or longer in/out. Summer was nice and beautiful with trees fully leaved, while winter was scenic during and after the leaves had fallen. Easy to hike from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Decent signage, trail very easy to follow. Level, so good for even small kids. Lots to look at along the way.

Honestly? Meh. Not bad, but nothing striking or unusual, or remarkably pretty to look at. We didn't even finish the trail, even the dog got bored.

Such a unique piece of land. Birch trees, ground pines and orchids. One of my favorite stops. Beautiful year round

What a gem. Loved the moss lined trail. Nice work. Very well maintained.

Park here but hike in the area east of Meer Road. See the map on the Shirley Heinze Land Trust website. Really delightful forest with a primeval feel. Some boardwalks over small streams and muddy areas, but waterproof footwear and bugspray highly recommended...

Went on a dry, warm day in August. Almost no water on the trail this day. Some gnats, but no mosquitoes. Old growth forest was amazing with a wide variety of adolescent and ancient trees. Entrance to small parking lot hard to spot. If traveling on Meer Rd from Freyer towards Tryon it will be on your right.
