Lovely homely pub. Only had time for a pint but the landlady was very friendly and helpful, the fire was lit and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu looked good and reasonably priced.

Group of 5 plus a dog went on Good Friday all had lovely meals of steak pie, cod, Cajun chicken burger, gammon and lasagna with home made onion rings as a side. All clean plates. Would recommend. Also had a game of darts or too and one of pool upstairs in the games room.

Really great atmosphere, service & food. We was a large party of 11 for Sunday lunch and the staff & food was fantastic. Really made a special family weekend away even better. Thank you.

Went with high expectations to have a Sunday roast with family. Worst ever roast, couldn't believe what we got. Burnt pudding, rationed burnt roast potato. And was not cheap. See photo.

Always been a good pub with great handpull beers for me and a warm welcome for my dog Isthatgeorgefrommarton. Only had a Sunday lunch from the menu, but very nice. Great range of entertainment and Halloween 🦇 just gone was epic, customers dressed up, Elvis n karaoke, it's what weekend's are for. Roge x n George x

Love this place. Chilled and friendly with great pub grub and a cracking little bear garden - all right smack in the middle of town Scampi and chips were lovely as was the steak baguette. - will definitely return next time we are in the area

What a great pub ! Visited here on a weekend break and were made to feel super welcome. Went in for a quick drink and ended up staying for hours for the Halloween karaoke night. Staff and other locals were lovely We will defo return

Friendly pub with delicious home made food on the menu. Dog friendly and nice choice of lager and guest beers. Pie was full of well cooked and tender beef and onion gravy but a bit runny if poured onto plate but very tasty. Would have preferred to see shortcrust pastry instead of puffed but that's just a personal preference

Lovely staff. Good food and amazing pints! Came into the pub last night for a quick drink, However a drunk and disorderly women (funnily enough left a review below) entered the pub refused to leave when asked to by the staff for excessive drinking. Causing mayhem for everyone in the pub screaming and shouting inside and outside of the pub. The women then left, untouched not ‘knocked out’ Very impressed with how the staff handled the situation will return again soon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Never ever complain but this place has pushed me over the edge! Service and food was absolutely discusting. We had to pay in advance as table tabs not allowed, waited just under an hour for 4 meals and when the food finally arrived it was too embarrassing to even take a photo. Instead of saying the kitchen is busy are you OK to wait, they take your money in advance and eventually deliver you stone cold slop. VERY VERY poor with absolutely no excuse.

Good beer (Black Sheep), good food and a very friendly landlady from the NE. Interesting locals. Proper pub decor. What more could anyone want ?

My boyfriend and I visited on Friday. He had fish and chips and I had the cheeseburger. He said that the fish was cold throughout, and the dry, oven chips were not any better. My burger looked like a frozen one, the cheese was like plastic and the bun was falling apart and stale. The chips were cold and neither of our salads looked appetizing. Nearly £20 per meal. Left feeling quite unwell, and will not be returning. So so disappointing.
