This
mall
used
to
be
a
fun
place
to
visit
and
shop.
Once
a
bustling
local
hub,
the
mall
was
full
of
stores
carrying
affordable
clothing,
furniture,
toys,
electronics,
and
accessories
along
with
cafeteria
style
restaurants
and
quaint
bistros.
Beautiful
fountains
and
indoor
trees
lined
the
bottom
floor,
catching
sunlight
through
the
glass
skylighted
ceilings.
Now,
this
place
is
boring,
charging
too
much
rent
for
stores
to
stay
in
a
long
time
neglected
building.
The
fountains
are
gone,
but
water
leaks
from
the
ceilings.
Cement
crumbles
outside
by
entrance,
where
the
stagnant
rainwater
filled
fountain
becomes
a
mosquito
haven
in
the
summer.
Management
refused
to
turn
on
the
air
conditioning
over
the
summer,
leaving
employees
and
customers
soaking
in
sweat.
Elevators
in
the
remaining
anchor
stores
are
frighteningly
outdated.
We
sometimes
visit
out
of
necessity,
but
no
longer
for
pleasure.
If
the
mall
wanted
visitors
from
the
community
again,
it
would
use
one
of
the
anchor
stores
to
become
an
affordable
activity
center,
featuring
batting
cages,
rock
walls,
roller
rink,
bowling
lanes,
arcade,
pool
tables,
air
hockey,
etc.
