The shadiest (in a good way) park in town. We love this playground because of the large trees that provide shade over the majority of the play equipment, which is a good mix of small stuff and tall stuff. The wooded area is also fun for exploring or building a fort. We haven't made much use of the big, open field, but it seems ideal for soccer practice or baseball practice or just running around. There are a couple soccer goals, a batting backstop, and a basketball hoop (near the parking area). Parking leaves a little to be desired (but we've never not found a spot), and the only bathroom is a port-a-potty, but overall the shaded play area wins out. The park has multiple benches and a picnic table for those who are looking for a seat.

Formerly the site of Cook Elementary School (closed in 2010, demolished in 2015), there is now a large open field here and some paved parking. There is also a wooded playground area in the back of the property, as well as a softball backstop. The field is popular for team practices (softball, soccer, football) and the playground is used by neighborhood families and young people. There are no bathroom facilities and there is no water available. Playground equipment is well maintained and the grounds are mowed regularly. It's a great place to watch the sunset, too.

Great, wide open space to have fun!! Very nice playground for little to medium sized kids. A huge, well maintained grassy field for sports of all kinds. Nice wooded area too. Beautiful, clean, safe. Loved it. (I didn't include the pictures of the playground because I didn't have permission from the kids' parents.)

Big fields for soccer or baseball. Good playground equipment mostly in the shade during the summer. Backs up to some trees that are fun for kids to explore. No drinking fountain. Porta potty.

I'm giving this 5 stars because its a field where Cook School used to be. MPS left some of the playground equipment. The kids use it for MAYFL football practice and it gets mowed. Mowing the lawn equals 5 stars for a big, giant field.

Cool woodsy park. Weird that it was once elementary school and now totally gone. Lots of room for kids to run around.
