We are big history buffs and my husband loves planes. We took our girls to this gem of a museum and we had the best time. There is so much history in this hanger. Donnie one of the volunteers spent some quality time with us and told us lots of really cool and interesting facts about the planes in the hanger. He told us the story about the fighter jet that they have on display and it's definitely something special. He even let our girls get into a plane and taught them how to fly it (pretend fly). We even got the opportunity to watch them take off in one of the older planes. It was cool to watch. They offer a ride program where we can go up in a Beechcraft Model-18 that seats 5 individuals. We will definitely be looking into doing this ride. And it costs $75-$145 per seat or $395 for the whole plane.

Drove 2 hrs to see this place only to find out itโ€™s closed. Website is unclear but says it was open, phone number given didnโ€™t get an answer. Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s a nice place but I wasted 4 hrs total and gas for nothing.

This is a hidden gem in midland. Happened to see the sign on the highway and Iโ€™m so glad I went. Free admission and lots of aircraft and memorabilia to look at. Thank you Greg and the other volunteers for your hospitality.

Great little museum. FYI When you arrive in the parking lot walk through the gates and head toward the hanger on the left. The first building you park by is all closed up and makes you think the museum is closed. This museum is the closest I have ever been allowed to many of the aircraft. The are usually roped off in distance at other museums.

Great museum pieces. No air conditioning so it was stuffy.

Surprisingly good little, hidden gem. I didn't know that we had something so cool in Midland, home of bombardier training.

What a fantastic museum and memorial to the planes, pilots, and crewmen of our armed forces! The museum was very kid friendly and interesting for all ages. Upon arrival, as others have said, it looks deserted (what airport hangar doesn't?), but the gate is open to walk in on Saturdays. The admission is free.

Had a great time!! We went to a show presented by Chevron. I always love seeing history right in front of me. The kids really enjoyed seeing the jet fighter display and we learned a lot of interesting facts. As a home school family we made this a lesson plan and we are currently discussing some of the engagements these plans flew in. Absolutely love it and I can't recommend it enough if you love history!!!

A home for some incredible aviation icons. This is a chance to be up close and personal with the planes that won WWII and so much more.

Absolutely loved the experience. My child is obsessed with airplanes and had so much fun!! I was so intrigued by the history of those planes, and can tell that they are very well taken care of. Definitely will be going back, especially for the airplane show.

Lots more photos ..but if your a World War 2 buff like we are.. it's great. Please be aware that the Midland Army does go by the High Sky Wing Midland CAF. They are open only on Saturdays. When you pull into the parking lot it looks abandoned..but if you walk down to the gate on the fence you go in thru that way.

We had a tour with our homeschool group. It was terrific! Our docent, Donnie was very informed and did an excellent job of tailoring the tour to us. Almost all of the planes in the museum fly- and almost all of them are privately owned! Which means they are sharing their personal property with the public to share history and honor the vets who served. I was really impressed.

A very attractive, medium-sized museum that can interest different ages. Good collection of WWII aircraft, very well maintained, most still in operation for shows and the occasional tourist flight. Most of the pieces are in the hangar, which makes the visit comfortable for the climate of the area. There are small thematic sections on specific aspects of the war that are affordable and interesting.
