😠 Still here after a 60 hour wait in ER. Only reason giving this place one star is because once you get out of ER you get treated with dignity, respect and transparency. ER staff is 98 percent rude and uncompassionate. Had diarrhea and begged just to be taken to bathroom. Nurses will look you dead in... Still here after a 60 hour wait in ER. Only reason giving this place one star is because once you get out of ER you get treated with dignity, respect and transparency. ER staff is 98 percent rude and uncompassionate. Had diarrhea and begged just to be taken to bathroom. Nurses will look you dead in the eye and ignore you. They steady blamed each other for who is not doing what. My first two days in that ER I was clueless and No one seemed a bit interested in providing information. Never learned anything until after 60 hours and finally got a bed. Now then the staff outside that ER department was transparent, helpful, kind a courteous. And my stay has been more that tolerable and my respect as a human being has been restored. Er negative 5 stars outside of them 5stars.

As of this moment I am sitting in the ER and getting the worst treatment. I have been "discharged" with out any alleviation of my injury. I have been treated very rudely and hostily. Not to mention the nurse that was working in the ER sicked security guards on me because I was calling to find other resources to help me get medical care since they were refusing to do it. They minimized my injuries and made me feel like my problems didn't matter and that they were insignificant. I can't even walk on my leg let alone feel my foot or toes. I have more been waiting an HR and half to talk to the doctor again and noting. Supposedly he's busy but it's empty in here. I highly wouldn't recommend this hospital. Uncaring unempathetic staff is a big red flag. Oh and she gave me crutches though I have no clue how to use them. Not to mention my other leg has an injury that will not support my full body weight. So currently just trapped in a corner chair because I can't move.

They really take great care of you. I love this place and there generous se I had the worst medical experience ever, my physician Doctor Campan was one of the Hospital Worse I've ever had in 50 years, she's supposed to be a lead physician, well she was the worst, I had a Blood Transfusion and she didn't even know of the precedure I had. Neither did She no about my Stomach ulcer it scary and unprofessional. I still went out of there with no results no prognosis no diagnosis like I went in all She did was exhaust my Insurance.. I had an MRI a CAT scan a ultrasound and a blood transfusion and colonoscopy. Still Bleeding internally, when asked by my wife about the Blood Transfusion results she responded what Blood Transfusion. She was so clueless 😃😃😳😳😳 never again will I come Here for Life saving issues.. Good luck with this intern....

Recently experienced two visits in the ER which could not be more different. The first time, I was treated with respect by the nursing staff and the doctors appeared knowledgeable and concerned. I was in severe pain and quickly seen by someone to triage, find me a place to receive tests and medication. They could not find what was causing my pain but admitted me for observation as precaution. Everyone appeared genuine, caring and acted with knowledge and compassion. The second visit occurred 3 days after the first, when I was brought in via ambulance experiencing the same symptoms and pain. The EMTs were well trained and sympathetic, doing what they could to get me in and seen in a quick manner. After an initial assessment I was sent to wait in the lobby even though there appeared to be plenty of room for me to wait there for the testing required. I watched as people in severe distress and other conditions were not addressed at all. Seen by a doctor only briefly in the lobby, we sat and waited. In the meantime my pain was at times difficult but I was told by one of the nurses that I was being too dramatic. I was accused by another run or nursing tech to have AMA'd on the last trip and to just sit down. I took my seat and dug my fingers in my hand to not appear in pain. Most notably a woman who was clearly homeless, in distress and needing physiological help was never seen and then after an hour or two was told loudly to the entire waiting area that she was discharged and could go home. The dismissal was rude, abusive and cold hearted. I am not an expert nor do I know all the details but I was disgusted. After 6 hours, they allowed me to go home. Thankfully I have one, and we left quickly. I will likely never visit this hospital again for any sort of care. It's a pity because I do believe they have qualified folks just a little light on compassion.

Came in through the EMERGENCY UNIT yesterday having SEVERE/ACUTE chest pain. The nurses there were so helpful & understanding in what i was telling them. If you dont have a problem waiting for a few hours to get the help you need, i STRONGLY RECOMMEND coming here! The doctor performed an EKG, & TWO (YES TWO!) different heart tests, along with 2 x-rays of my chest & my blood was drawn TWICE for testing. EVERYTHING came back negative, & i was prescribed an inhaler (my symptoms turned out to be ADULT ASTHMA). So far? Still feel a little tightness in my chest area, but nonetheless? From registration, to the doctors...EVERYTHING was EXCEPTIONAL!! & i can actually breath in & out again! 👍👍👍 Again? I HIGHLY recommend that if you do come here, do be prepared to wait because it can get quite busy sometimes!! Keep up the fantastic work!

Not a hospital person at all, but have to admit, my experience at Desert Springs Hospital was extremely pleasant under the circumstances. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and respectable. Cleaning staff was on point. Food/dietary was excellent! Not that I want to come back, but if there is a need, then this is my hospital of choice! Very well done. I applaud you all for your dedication and hard work!

Desert Springs has been our hospital of choice for over 20 years. I found the nursing and support staff to be exemplary in every way. Each and every one all deserve five stars. My first Attending Physician on the fifth floor was good, but I don't recall her name. But, the Attending Physician on the third floor and the Specialty Cardiology Physician(s) were not very communitive. When they did communicate is was vague and ambiguous. I left the hospital without a clear picture of severity of the damage I incurred and no instructions for altering my lifestyle for my new reality. Furthermore, the Cardiologist made an appointment for me with his office without conferring with me at all even after twice telling them I already have a cardiologist who I very much trust. However, this did seem indicative of their communications and attitude; you work with our schedule we don't work with yours. I saw my cardiologist a day before their imposed appointment which I cancelled. I also did not appreciate rewriting some of my prescriptions to manufacturers of their choosing. They had my complete medical list including over-the-counter items.

    1. Nurses wanted to give me insulin after surgery and after they gave me apple juice and pudding. I have never been on insulin I am not diabetic and my insulin was not over 180. They could have made me terribly sick and that is awfully concerning. He should read the book the good nurses and how they could lose their license giving insulin to people that do not really require it. Number two I know the staff is limited but wait times were very very long. Number three the food was terrible. Number 4 my discharge took over seven hours. Number five because I was concerned and declined the insulin they declared that I had anxiety. I will say this right now if you were informed and knew that you should not receive insulin and they put it on your chart and left it there I think you would have a bit of anxiety as well. How sad is that!

I had just moved to Nevada and had to learn the hard way of finding a good primary care provider. I’ve been sick from a drug reaction for days and after going to the ER, PCP, and specialist that gave me the medication and being ignored, I decided to come to Desert Springs. I was able to get much needed medication that I hadn’t had since before I moved as well as a medication to treat my current symptoms. The head nurse practitioner was very understanding and helpful. The only reason I didn’t give a five star review was because whoever ran the ER phone line yesterday was very rude to me when I didn’t know where to be transferred to.

This hospital is the worst hospital I’ve ever been too in my life. I went in with extreme cramps and dehydration. My arms, legs, hands and jaw locked and I was crying hysterically. No one had any empathy for my situation at all. The nurses seemed to have an attitude when dealing with me and when I asked for more medicine for my extreme headache nothing was prescribed. The doctor Christopher Atigas had no empathy for how I felt either. He barely checked to see how I was recovering after I was given an IV. I asked to be put in a bed or a softer chair because of my extreme cramping in my legs and was not given a place to lay out so I could stretch them. I also felt that I was discharged entirely too early. I was still dizzy when leaving the hospital and I felt that I could have gotten another IV after the first one was drained. They also only wrote me a one day excuse from work when I had serve dehydration and it typically takes 2-3 days to recover from. On top of that the doctor said they would refer me to a primary care doctor to follow up with and he did not do that. He had the nurse tell me I was being discharged and did not come back to speak with me and let me know what was going on. I cannot believe this is the type of workers who are responsible for peoples health. This was a terrible experience. It is now 2 days after my visit and my kidney is now hurting and I am still weak. I believe I could have been given another IV to help me get an adequate amount of fluids in my system. I would not recommend visiting this hospital for any serious medical conditions as the staff here seems very unconcerned with their patients issues and pain level.

It was pleasantly quite during my visit. There was only about 4 paitients there when I was there. It was the longest wait i ever had for 4 hours. Thought that was very long considering there was only 5 of us in the ER during my 4 hour visit. Didn't understand that part. Every other ER would be crowded and super busy and I would be out within a hour and a half.. On a good note, all the nurses were very nice. The first doctor that seen me was rushing and was a little ruff considering I was in pain and he moved to fast for my locked arm and shoulder. I could barely move so he was moving to fast for me and made my muscle spaz again which put me in more discomfort and pain.. On another good note....The doctor that relieved him was very nice and showed he cared. Other then that my visit was a good visit

Service by all staff gets a five star rating. Nurses, physical therapist, and everyone I encountered were off the charts outstanding. Administrative services suck. They send you home with a packet of post up instructions to follow which, on more than one item, totally differ from the instructions that I received directly from my surgeon. This is potentially very dangerous. The hospital has absolutely no business telling a patient what to do post op. Why do you continue this extremely dangerous practice. Once I leave the hospital you have no right to tell me what to do, especially when you conflict with what my surgeon has told me to do. Shame on you. I thought you were first and foremost supposed to do no harm!!!!

I was honestly scared to go to the hospital. (First ER visit) I was experiencing many symptoms but Dr. Bre and her team including Brittany, Brian, Rachel and Joanna were able to diagnose me and begin treatment within 40 minutes! I felt safe and they all worked so well together to nurse me back to health. I went from thinking I was surely going to die to the feeling the most grateful I’ve ever been in my life! Thank you so much!

I was distressed with a lot of pain in the shin bone area of my left leg. Wasn't aware of the change in Desert Springs hospital status so I went to the emergency room. Being prepared to wait for a few hours, as we "the public" usually have to at any emergency room USA. Imagine my surprise when the staff of Desert Springs not only were treating me within 5 minutes, they were doing so pleasantly and effeciently. Wow was I happy I went there. My sincere thanks and prayers to the staff.

When I have major medical needs this is where I go. They're always crowded but the ER staff hustles and tries very hard to assist your particular problem. I gave them a 4 only because a couple of Dr's there are too busy to pay attention to the patient. On the other hand the nursing staff deserves a 5⭐ rating!!! They are compassionate, caring, and understanding. 90% if the time they understand the patient's medical problems better than the Dr's because they listen to them closely! This facility has an overall caring demeanor. I highly recommend this hospital.

Desert Springs Hospital has great customer service and amazing hospitality, I felt like I was at a 5 star resort. The nurses Norma, Angela, Brittany, Whitney and Vincent were phenomenal and to name a few other’s forgot there names. They had so much patience felt so comfortable from the time I walked in. Thank you Desert Springs for having such a wonderful team!!!!!!!

The care I received at Desert Springs Hospital was compassionate, kind and very healing. From the pre-operative experience through the discharge I encountered the best people and processes for caring for me and my family. The nurses were absolutely amazing and so were the nurse assistants. The meals were delicious also!

I don’t know why they only have 3.8 stars but it’s 5/5 for me. I’m from out of town and had to bring my infant here because he got sick on the flight in and was declining rapidly. The first RN we met with at intake was super polite and welcoming. Then we met with the physician pretty quickly who was also amazing. We had to get baby boy X-rays done and some test which all the nursing who can in were very polite. We never were ignored and treated as if we were the only patients in the ER. From the intake person to every wine else we met I have nothing but great words to say. Hope everyone can experience what we did ever in an emergency situation. Thank you to all I wish I remembered names but I was a little stressed.

For having to be medically pulled off an airline home due to an instant rush of pain caused by a kidney stone and spasms in lower back the care I received was incredible. All the nurses and doctors were wonderful. I got very upset to hear part of the facility will be closing losing out on some of those incredible people. I pray they find another wonderful place to go because all of them. Nurses for MRI, cT scans, general nurses for assistance with everything I needed. All of them were top notch. Thank you for treating my issues and was finally able to get on a plane back home to Alabama!

I was treated with the utmost care. From the moment I arrived I was seen quickly and admitted right away. The attending nurses, JJ and Amber were awesome!! As was the whole staff that what was on duty. I was in excruciating pain and they were so attentive and took every measure to relieve the pain and were quick to run tests and find a cause. I had a lot of concerns and they were thoughtful and very considerate while answering all my questions. I am feeling much better today and a lot less anxious..

My wife was brought to the ER with dangerously low pulse rate. The ER team led by Ashleigh was outstanding and very caring. My wife was transferred to Valley Hospial ICU for advanced care. A special Thank You to the entire Desert Springs Hopital ER medical team.

My husband and I arrived at Las Vegas airport He became ill for five hours on our plane ride. I asked someone where the closest emergency room was and we were taken to Desert springs. Once we were taken in the back, we had truly amazing care. The PA, Darcy was just great. The nurses that took care of us included JJ and JP and another male tech who is fabulous. They were very sympathetic to the fact that we were in a strange town and a strange hospital. My only issue is that we were transferred to Valley hospital for admission since it was felt that he needed to stay one night. We had to go through a second admission process in the emergency room at Valley, while waiting for a bed. (We’re just hoping we don’t get billed twice. ) The nurses at Valley Er (Eduardo and the PA) were great too. Honestly, the overall experience was really terrific and it seems like it’s a great team at Desert and Valley! Many Thanks!

The wound care team is fantastic. After spending over a year there I have found the staff to be exceptional, very attentive, and truly caring about their patients. Dr. Lyon is an incredibly talented Dr. With experience and foresight unlike any other Dr. I have encountered. He is extremely attentive and listens to what the patient has to say. He is thorough, systematic, and I felt very comfortable in his decisions and ability. Thank you everyone in the wound clinic for all you have done!

The personnel was very, very professional, since day one. Days before when I took the lab test, prior to the surgery, was very easy and the nurses very friendly. The day of the surgery was no exceptions, everything according to the schedule and how it was planned. The explained to me everything about the procedure. Everyone in a very good mood, even joking each other, making a very pleasant environment. The both visits, the nurses went very careful when operated medical equipment, because " don't make a sense make the patient, getting additional pain of what they have". I notice the hospital is SUPER, MEGA CLEAN, no wonder is indeed, the #1. Absolutely amaze about the service, it blow my mind equipment inside, the experience in general was be yond my expectations, I'm glad my doctor used this hospital. And I more glad that this hospital, the nurses and equipment is here, in Las Vegas.

Came in to the emergency room was seen, tested had a diagnosis within 4 hrs and admitted after 23 hrs of waiting for a room. Upon getting a room it is great, the staff and amenities are awesome. Attending Doctors are not employees of the Hospital experiences can vary depending on their individual personalities. My attending is a person of few words you can’t get a word out to express anything it was their update of your condition and then they’re off. I would recommend visiting their emergency services because I felt like I finally got the treatment I deserved. I had a pneumonia with fluid in my lungs went to UMC quick care got an injection of Rocephin and 7 days worth of antibiotic. After 2 weeks I am still a walking pneumonia so with Desert Springs I am satisfied and on my way to be healed.

I had a horrible experience at this hospital. The lady conducting my ultra sound was clearly a trainee, and was asking a lady seated behind her what should she do, every step of the way. I complained multiple times about the pressure she was placing on my stomach which I stated I was uncomfortable, I was given a weak excuse before things continued. It went on for about 20 minutes until I could take no more. The lady then switched to another machine, (vaginal this time) for another 20-30 minutes. After leaving that room I was taken to get my blood work. Not only did the lady doing the blood work take the needle and move it around my veins while it was inserted, she blew a vein which resulted in blood pouring out of my arm that went to my leg the. To the floor. I was freaked out but was given a paper towel to wipe myself, a dry paper towel, noting to sanitize the situation. I will never return to this hospital, I was treated horribly.

I had a very positive experience at Desert Springs Medical Center. Everyone was friendly and professional and took care of my needs always with a smile! I came in for a very fast, irregular heartbeat. Immediately taken back for an EKG. It was determined I was experiencing A fibrillation. Dr. Baldwin, the ER doctor was so nice. Very patient with me and all my questions. My nurse was awesome. Though I was very scared, they made sure I knew I wasn't dying. They were able to bring my heart rate down and back into a normal rhythm. Very please. Much better than the other hospital ERs I've been to.

I was seen in the emergency room on Friday the 6th of August. Registering process went very smoothly. A doctor came out to the waiting room and visited with me about my issue. I was seen very quickly and was given a very thorough explanation of my problem. All the staff that I came in contact with were very courteous and caring. They all seemed to know and do their jobs very well. I will definitely use this hospital for all future needs.

Went in for outpatient surgery Sept. 1, 2021...Whole staff was wonderful, especially Flo - the Green Machine!, Jennifer Borbon, Clinical Supervisor, Ms. Goodwin, RN & A. Menza, CST and Mark, who found all my paperwork, on short notice, & administered pre-op testing, etc. Marie & Lisa were wonderful getting me admitted & giving a professional, friendly front to represent the whole Hospital!! But i must point out the Angelic, Devoted Help from Kevin, my nurse. Not only was he Kind, Gentle & Smart, he also helped get my dangerously high blood pressure back to normal, after my surgery. He walked me to the bathroom several times & waited for me for 10+ minutes while I tried to urinate - I was so full of anesthesia & IV Bottles of fluid. He also was so valuable in procuring my Rx and my ride home. I have had 5 major surgeries over the years & had countless nurses, but he was the Best of all of them. I see why these people have been proclaimed Las Vegas #1 Hospital for so many years! Thank You Very Much to all of You!! What a Friendly, Loving Fun Staff!! I took good notes, because I was so happy with everyone & the Staff even gave me a card & wished me a speedy recovery, signed multiple times! I am so Grateful! Tommy Randall

Could not even spell my name right off medicare cards. Doctors failed to listen to my needs. Did not address directly what I came in for. Scheduled testing in search of medical conditions being handled elsewhere for specific procedures. They were happy to keep me unnecessarily waiting for these tests. Put me in isolation after 10 NEGATIVE covid tests. Bad cold food that was not on Kidney diet.

I fell down some stairs and was sure I had broken my leg. Was taken to a nearby hospital. Taken to emergency room. Triaged by a kind RN. They were able to get me into a private space right away. Was able get x-rays right away, and was seen by ED physician after a almost 2hour wait. Overall not bad. They had individual, properly ventilated rooms. Followed covid protocols. I was checked on by staff one time. Overall good experience. I felt the only thing could have been improved on was showing some empathy, and some real pain meds at least to get me through 7 days. Being a nurse myself, it is important to show empathy and understand that each individuals pain is exactly what they say it is, and not all patients abuse pain medications.

I rushed my mother to ER because I thought she may be having a mini stroke. The Doctor on call asked me to bring in a CD we have of a MRI of her brain in 2019 to compare. I took it with some personal things because they wanted to observe her overnight. She got her things but no one knows where her CD is! When I went up there to get it they asked if I checked with security. Why do I need to do that? I didn't give it to security, I gave it to the trauma intake guy! No one could look at the schedule and say who was working on Monday night 9/13/21 from 5:30 to 6:30pm. I hope we never need them again in life. Thank God we are moving from this area.
