Our
son
was
admitted
to
Kindred
Flamingo
on
June
10th
after
suffering
an
extremely
disabling
stroke.
No
one
in
our
family
had
any
idea
of
what
to
expect
from
a
Long
Term
Acute
Care
Hospital.
But
every
step
in
managing
his
care
was
reviewed
with
his
wife,
my
husband
and
me.
We
were
consulted
on
all
decisions
and
medical
care
and
we
were
given
all
of
the
information
and
time
to
discuss
this
as
a
team.
There
are
so
many
people
who
have
helped
us
as
we
walk
down
this
long
road
to
recovery.
They
have
held
us
as
we
have
cried,
laughed
when
things
got
crazy,
they
have
been
so
gentle
and
caring
for
our
son
and
with
us.
We
have
all
become
part
of
this
incredible
family
of
Kindred
Flamingo.
There
are
so
many
people
who
make
this
place
run
24
hours
a
day,
7
days
a
week!
Debbie
Cochran
who
knows
EVERYONE!
And
she
takes
time
everyday
to
check
in
with
us.
Laura,
our
nutritionist,
who
has
tirelessly
worked
to
find
the
right
balance
for
our
son's
nutritional
requirements.
Bill,
head
of
the
cafeteria,
always
has
a
smile,
serves
food
for
even
the
pickiest
of
vegetarians
(thank
you
Bill)
along
with
his
steadfast
staff.
The.
There
is
Edwin
who
works
for
environmental
services!
Always
a
smile
and
a
hello
and
so
very
gracious.
When
you
come
in
the
very
first
person
welcoming
you
is
Noreen.
She
knows
us,
where
we
are
going,
and
is
pleasant
and
always
smiling.
Our
head
nurse
Debbie
is
up
to
date
on
our
son
and
his
care
and
always
takes
the
time
to
talk.
Her
new
colleague
Karen
who
always
has
a
smile
and
allows
us
to
talk
about
something
OTHER
than
our
survivor.
Our
physical
therapy
team
of
Craig,
Molly
and
OT
Yidanys
have
been
so
encouraging
and
supportive
and
gentle
but
absolutely
ensuring
that
our
son
is
making
progress
as
he
continues
to
get
his
physical
and
mental
strength
back.
Their's
is
a
very
hard
job
and
they
come
through
every
day.
Picking
people
up
requires
a
lot
of
strength!
Teams!
Our
nurses
Paytton,
Jessica,
Martin,
Christie,
Dale,
Jazell,
Tara,
Joan,
and
I'm
sure
I'm
omitting
some,
each
of
these
people
are
angels!
Really.
They
are
angels
and
they
work
miracles
every
day.
And
every
day
I
know
we
are
blessed
and
grateful
to
have
them
on
OUR
team.
There
is
a
full
compliment
of
therapists
to
get
our
son
ready
for
his
next
ride
to
recovery.
Elizabeth,
the
speech
therapist
has
the
patience
of
a
saint.
Patty,
Rob,
Dennis,
Christine
and
the
leader
of
that
pack,
Beverly,
have
given
our
son
the
gift
of
breathing
again.
Off
the
ventilator
and
breathing
on
his
own
after
weeks
of
setbacks.
Working
with
Laura
in
nutrition,
this
team
have
made
a
mother's
wish
come
true!
Off
the
ventilator
and
getting
ready
for
rehabilitation.
There
are
so
many
people
who
make
this
operation
run
smoothly.
Tom
in
telemetry
who
watches
every
machine,
the
guys
behind
the
scenes
who
keep
the
facility
clean
and
the
lights
on,
Colby
and
his
crew
in
pharmacy
who
ensure
patients
are
getting
correct
meds,
Irina
and
George
the
case
managers
who
coordinate
the
care
and
are
available
when
we
need
them
I'd
also
like
to
add
that
we've
met
other
caregivers
during
our
time
here.
We
have
become
so
supportive
for
each
other
and
it
makes
this
time
easier
knowing
we
have
someone
else
to
see
and
share
their
journey.
This
is
not
a
sprint.
It
truly
is
a
marathon
and
we
aren't
even
close
to
the
next
step,
but
with
the
support
of
Kindred
Flamingo
I
know
we
will
have
success.
Thank
you
all
for
caring
for
our
family.
