    i don’t normally write reviews and i debated on whether or not i should write this one but i felt it was too important to not write about. i have been coming to this ulta for a few years now, and everyone there is normally really polite and helpful. however, there is an employee there who has consistently been the opposite. she’s a short white woman with long colored hair and glasses who i believe is named hannah, and i have watched her many times be extremely nice to other white customers. she will talk to them about the credit card, be nice and friendly, normal customer service. when it comes to me or other black customers though, the energy is not the same. i wanted to make sure i wasn’t overreacting, but i have made sure to check. every time i go in there and she’s there, i am not asked about the credit card. i am not made to feel welcomed or wanted, i just feel uncomfortable and like she wants me to leave. and the same goes for other black people, honestly almost anyone who isn’t white. i notice these things while waiting in line, i keep note. i mention the credit card, because it’s a very common thing for people to assume black people wont get approved for credit cards and it’s insulting. other people there even recognize me, and are more than happy to help me, seem to have no problem asking me about the card. so now i just want it to be known. if you’re black and value your sanity, turn around if you see this person. i did not want to leave a bad review as it isn’t everyone’s fault that this woman conducts herself so poorly and it is uncomfortable to put myself in this position, but i felt it was important for other people to know. edit 6/22: i find it extremely interesting that so soon after my review was posted there was one talking about how amazing hannah is. i took a screenshot and trust i will be contacting corporate to let them know about all of this behavior. i tried to be nice but this is ridiculous and disgusting. i’m not accepting this behavior from an adult employee of a store in 2023 and neither should anyone else. i’m not blaming ulta unless they don’t take action, but i am blaming this human being for not knowing how to treat other human beings. it is unacceptable. good luck to any other poc that have to deal with hannah. you’ll need it.

    Went in for a couple of items I needed and even if I lurked around the store for quite a bit nobody of the staff even made eye contact with me. I definitely don’t seek for a sale assistant who chase me around but at least a smile or a good morning. Nothing!

    I’ve gone in this Ulta about 4 times since I’ve moved here from Arizona and every time I’ve gone in not a single soul will greet me let alone ask if I need help. I noticed that other people coming in are greeted and helped. I matched my own foundation and found what I needed but it’s crazy to me to spend the amount of money I do to be profiled. I still will shop there because I love Ulta but customer service needs to do better maybe try not profiling idk just a thought.

    Canceled my appointment not 24 hours but 2 hours beforehand. Rescheduled with a different location tomorrow. Hoping they are more professional.

    The sales people were extremely nice and helpful. I didn't find everything I was looking for, they were kind enough to send me to a place that had what I wanted. Positive experience.

    came in a couple days ago needing a specific product. I showed the cashier a picture of the product when I walked in to ask where it was located and she just pointed in the general direction of where the brand was. I already knew where the brand was.. I was just in a hurry so I wanted someone to help me find the product. Went over there and couldn’t see it, asked a different employee and showed the photo, and she gave me the wrong product (it was a serum which looked very similar to the brow gel I was looking for). Anyways I came in to return it today (2/23) and get the correct product and the guy who helped was very polite and seemed to have a great sense of urgency which I always appreciate when I only have a few minutes to pop in. I love ulta, they usually have great employees.
