Pathetic taste, incompetent staff and zero hospitality. On top of that after informing the waiter that we have an issue with the food, we are being stereotyped that people from our region don’t understand food. The Indian guy who took our order can’t even communicate in English. I feel sad for the owners who have no idea about the incompetency of their employees. Wasted opportunity and disappointing experience .

I would give this -100000/10 if I could, we also made the mistake of not reading the reviews but honestly this place deserves a 1 star, not even 2.6. The servers were so rude, after we ordered they told us the crepes weren’t available but the pancakes were. We ordered the pancakes, orange juice and an ice coffee. 20 minutes later they came back to just tell us that there are no pancakes, we opted to just get our drinks and leave. They brought out the orange juice right away but the ice coffee didn’t come. We finished the orange juice and got up and finally then did they bring over the ice coffee. Nothing can justify why in any world 1 orange juice is €6 each and ice coffee is €5. If you want to say it’s cause you’re paying for the service. THERE WAS NO SERVICE. They were simply rude and disrespectful and didn’t even remove the pancakes from our bill that we never got. It took the man another few minutes to get someone else to remove it from the bill. Save your time and go anywhere else.

Worst experience ever. Waitress lady looks so unhappy i ask for her advise on ice cream she didnt even replied. Also ice cream was so bad. I mean italian people are nice and ice cream also good but this place sucks in so many aspects ! (5€ for 3)

Do not go to this bar ! Tourist trap, you will regret. Suspected racism. The management and waiters are extremely rude. The bartenders are kind and friendly. Our group of 7 was ignored, half the order did not come, the other half of the order was wrong and bad quality. Upon requesting assistance, the waiters steam rolled us and a 20 minute argument ensued. Very unprofessional, expensive and poor quality service and products. Flies inhabit the outside area.

Unfortunately, my visit to Restaurant Castello was highly disappointing. Right from the moment I walked in, I noticed that the ambiance was not particularly inviting. The plates were unattractively arranged, and the food presentation was incredibly poor. Not only were the dishes visually unappealing, but they also lacked flavor. The spices seemed to miss the mark, and the preparation left much to be desired. As for the service, the staff was extremely unfriendly. There was no smile, no attentiveness, and a lack of willingness to cater to the needs of the guests. Our table was ignored for a long time, and it was difficult to get their attention. Overall, I cannot recommend Restaurant Castello due to the unappealing plate arrangements, the poor taste of the food, and the unfriendly staff. There are certainly better options in the area that offer a more enjoyable dining experience.

I would have enjoyed my ice cream at the terrace if a waiter(?!) hadn't come to bother us several (4) times trying to charge an extra 5€ per person for the table. We were asked if we wanted our coffee and pastries to go or stay in and paid to stay, so this was obviously a scam. The gelato was good and fresh, though.

Lovely desserts and ice cream. Staff were friendly (if not especially efficient!) and they were happy for us to sit and relax. Facilities not very clean when I visited, and there was a man collecting tips (not sure what for given the dirty loo) even though there was a sign saying the toilets were free. But if you don’t need the washrooms, definitely worth visiting for the ice cream.

As with the other reviewers here, should have checked the reviews first before visiting this place. Granted, the ice cream was very good, but the attitude of the staff was simply attrocious. Everyone has a scowl on their face & makes you wonder if they hated working there. Service was slow, receipts were tossed back at us & the staff was very rude and unfriendly. Give this place a pass

AVOID THIS DISGRACE OF A BAR AT ALL COSTS. I went with a friend and we were immediately mistreated by the staff. They basically led us around for ten minutes before allowing us to order, everytime we asked the waiter told us to ask someone else. Finally we were served a coffee and a cappuccino, now: I'd been to the bar inside before and noticed pastries costed 2 euros. Can you explain to me then how could we have been charged 2.50 for the coffee and FOUR EUROS FOR A CAPPUCCINO? Easy. We were SCAMMED. Btw to top it all off, instead of us asking for the check, the waiter came to our table and was like "Oi, can you pay now?" as soon as we were finished. Extremely rude and unprofessional. If I heard that place had burned down, I'd honestly take it as good news. Bar Castello, vaffanculo tu e tutta la razza tua.

BEAUTIFUL OLD INTERIORS, KIND STAFF, STRATEGIC POSITION, but the ICE CREAM is EXPENSIVE and not WORTHY. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Very bad service. Took 40 minutes to bring 3 espressos an a cold worst tasted coffee (I cant even remember the name). The desert was also not good. Later we had to go to the bathroom which is inside the bar. There is some Indian guy asking for money to let us into the toilets. I told him we were sitting here and why do I have to pay? Nevertheless, I told him I have no money with me and he was kind to let us go. But something like this was strange to experience. The interior design tricks the customers but its basically very bad service and not good coffee.

Only got Gelato, you pay at the till point inside and get given a note to take to the lady serving Ice Cream. Nice and Easy, lovely ice cream and very nice variety of flavours :) 2 Scoops were 3.50€ / 3 Scoops are 5€

One of the worst pizzas ever. One of the worst pasta arrabbiata ever. I don't think the chef knows Italian cuisine. Also, a person inside the bar/restaurant is asking for money at the exit of the toilet. It's not a train station 🤦🤦

A little skeptical due to the poor reviews but we had a great experience. Food was delicious, drinks were strong and service was good.

Pizza was good. Thought they might be pricey because they're so near Sforzesco Castle but food wasn't too expensive. Staff treated us well particularly the kind man at the payment register. Waiters were a little inefficient but they were attending to several customers outside so understandable. For the toilets, there's a staff collecting tips to use it.

Rude! Everyone who works there is so rude! They treated us so bad. And the ice cream not that good, we tried others and probably yours the worse. Never come Back and hoping God to change this places workers heart.

We get the drinks at 8h15 PM and at 8h30 they asked us to leave because they close at 8h30... When we ordered, they didn't tell us that they are going to close soon ! However, It is indicated that the bar closes at 11PM. Waiters dont speak English in such a touristic place.

Il capuccino and espresso was cold. No "schiuma" on the capuccino, it was more of a caffe latte. Service was slow. Staff not friendly. Table was dirty. Over priced. Tourist trap

The service was okay, but coffee was 3€ and cannoli 5€, I didn’t see them on the menu and they didn’t have a price tag so I’m not even sure if this price was real or not. The view is not amazing, since there is construction work around.

I get all the negative reviews. The people who work here either hate their jobs or hate tourists. We stopped here after visiting the Sforzesco museum. It did not strike me as a good choice, clearly a place that caters to tourists, but my partner chose to stop here for gelato. This is the 4th gelateria we have visited this trip to Italy. What a pleasant surprise! The gelato was excellent! I’m going to give this place a 95 out of a 100 for their gelato. It was twice the price of other gelaterias in Milan… and the sour faces are definitely a turn off. But the gelato was great! Creamy, and flavorful. Well worth the extra cost.

Don't go to this bar! Service is really unfriendly and does not represent well the good services that you can find in any other Italian cafè or restaurant. Also extremely overpriced for the quality of coffee that is served.

The biggest + is the location and the nice view. Even if the bar was almost empty, we had to wait 30 min for our drink and the sad thing is that the staff didn’t even bother to clean our table so I had to do it by myself because it was full of potato chips crumbs. Nice place though 😊

I would say 4 stars for the waiter service, too kind and respectful. But I have seen too many errors from someone that, maybe, is the owner. I ordered a Carramba cocktail made with grapefruit and tequila, asking to make it light. I received a mix of tequila and something very bitter, which was not drinkable and not good at all. The 'onwer' came saying he wanted it to be strong, but I sincerely did not care. I wanted it light. And he was giving explanations and blabla regarding why it should be strong. 9.5 euros for this sort of cocktail that I left it all, as you see it on the photos. Pay attention at the overprice if you take the seats (2 euros a bottle of water)

I give this place 2 stars only because the service was not friendly at all. I can't stand it when people make others feel stupid for asking questions. They seemed pissed off when we asked for samples of their gelato. It tasted fine, but wouldn't go back due to poor service

Waiting 30 minuten to order and then having to go get your drinks yourself was a memorabele experience for me. Only 24 euro's for 3 beers, I really felt like I was ripping off this marvelous bar. And then the waiting staff, I never knew people could be this friendly...

Excellent drinks, a pleasant atmosphere, and well-trained staff. This location is wonderful whether you're going out as a couple or with friends. The prices is good. Will return!

Been here twice. First time some years ago had the lasagne here, it was like it was just warmed up in the microwave. I've had better lasagne from the Lidl frozen isle! Second time (today) went with my partner, whom the ice cream vendor verbally berated for no apparent reason. Gelato was good though. Hostile staff and subpar food, I recommend to avoid this place!

DISCRIMINATION!! DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR HUMAN BEINGS. My wife is 9 months pregnant, we bought Gelato for the whole family, and my wife needed to sit for 5 minutes. The 2 small benches for the Gelato customers were full, but the 20 seats for the tables were empty. The waiter REFUSED to let my wife sit down in the chair without paying the 3 euros cover charge to sit at a table. Karma will get all of you, just wait.

The location is very good just in front of the Castle . They serve Italian beer MESSINA that I liked very much. I do not think prices are very high , but in line with other pubs of the area.

Cheap cheaters, charge 4 instead of advertised 2.5 for small ice cream. They also have some random homeless guy to beg for money to use the cafe toilets. Avoid this place if you can.

The service: 3/5 The server seemed kind of strange and like his attention was everywhere but at the same time no where. The food: 3/5 The food it self was not very great. The gnocchi were not selfmade or something you would expect to eat in Italy and the ravioli sauce tasted pretty store bought. The Juice 0/5: We tried what was supposed to be a pineapple and an apple juice. Both didn't taste like the fruit at all and were very sweet. Would not recommend! The ice cream: 5/5 Very tasty and the scoops of ice cream were very good and not very pricy for the city. (Even though the Salted Caramel tasted more like coffee) Would definitely recommend the gelato!

We ordered only a calzone and smoothies. Smoothies were too sweet with lots of sugar and probably with not fresh strawberries but with a jam maybe...it is little bit strange. So, I don't like it. And about a calzone: the dough was little bit oversalty, but a filling was delicious. Service stuff were not so much polite and friendly.

Unfortunately we did not check the ratings before entering this place and ordering. A rating of 2.7 is too generous for this place :)) One of the poorest food and services we've ever experienced! ...and this is in Italy and in such a centric place in Milano. Everything is CHEAP here: service, food, plates, cutlery, glasses. And the business does not even need to care about this all since there are always a lot of tourists passing by. Just check the ratings and pass by.

The waiter gave us one menu for two of us. Then, after 5 seconds he asked, what we order, after which we were ignored completely for the next 20 minutes. The service there is pathetic, and we decided to just leave.
