👍👍 Beautiful walk, very unusual for Milan, it almost seems to be in another city. The canal is quiet and offers very beautiful views

Il naviglio è tranquillo e offre scorci molto belli

Beautiful cycle path which, starting from the central station area of Milan, leads out of the city towards the North East, reaching Trezzo D'Adda (where it bends North with respect to the main East-West axis The route is intra-city and therefore offers a multitude of micro urban landscapes and humans of varied contours. This may be its beauty, not for those who don't have the 'slow bike philosophy', especially if tackled on Sunday (for serious bikers or those who think they are such: go elsewhere..) There is a lack of thoughtful details, which could, with a bit of real vision green mentality (not from blaBlaBla), truly make it an alternative route towards the east (electric bikes available, on-the-fly metro and/or luggage support... It wouldn't take much but a mentality reset is necessary.

The Martesana Canal. Great for anyone who wants to walk, bike, skate, fish, or run. You can start from the Maggiolina area, or in Viale Monza. Along the route there are pastry bars, mobile ice cream shops, and benches where you can rest. In summer I recommend you do it early in the morning or in the afternoon. Be careful at state roads and small squares. Along the canal you can see fish, otters and beavers.

(Translated by Google) Naviglio Martesana built by Leonardo da Vinci, from the basin in the center of Milan to the Martesana in a covered way for vehicular traffic and then only for cycle and pedestrian traffic to the outskirts. Nice walk.
