What a wonderful nightlife area this is! We loved it so much that we came here both nights of our stay in Milan. It’s an area full of restaurants, bars, shops, and lots of people at night. I thought it was just a touristic area, but I was very pleased to see that it’s an area frequented by locals too. Besides the wide choice of cuisines that it offers, it’s a nice place for just a walk alongside the canal, where sometimes you can see some performances from boats. It’s easily reachable by subway, which runs “only” until midnight. No worries if you miss the last departure though: it’s replaced by a bus (at least on the weekends), which will stop at almost the same stations.

It’s a perfect place to hangout with friends and families and have fun ! Many small bars around the canal, has all kind of discount drinks and various food for choice , very live and good place for leisure . If you don’t want to go to the bar you can also sit by the canal and spend some good times just like ma Seine in Paris , I saw there’s some boat bar as well,I went alone so didn’t stay for too long , next time if I go with friends I’ll definitely go there again .

Enjoyed walking along the canal. We ate lunch at one of the many restaurants. I really enjoyed shopping for art. I found several artist’s studios and bought several pieces of nice artwork. I got to meet the artists as well. We enjoyed our day there

Experience the lively charm of Naviglio Grande, where picturesque canals breathe life into Milan's streets. The vibrant atmosphere along the water's edge, adorned with quaint cafes and shops, creates a delightful ambiance. A leisurely stroll by the canal provides a unique and enjoyable perspective of Milan. More quiet area than the center Naviglio Grande is a must-visit, offering a blend of history, culture, and the joyous energy of city life.

We walked by just right before sunset on a Sunday and it was so cool to stroll down and see all of the artists with their creative & beautiful art displays. It was busy but so lively with happy hours at the bars & restaurants! You really get a sense of the art culture of Milan.

Really nice place. If you are lucky you can have really nice sunset here. Lots of bars and restaurants with options for drinks and food. You can come at evening and enjoy a walk along the canal. Besides this not much to do. So 2 hrs is more than enough here.

Definitively one of the most beautiful areas of Milan. I visited it during the day to better admire the area from an architectural point of view, but surely it must be a beautiful area even in the evening, at least that's what they say! However, be careful that most of the places have quite high prices!

Beautiful neighbourhood in Milan that is quite different from the city centre. It feels authentic even though it's quite touristic (also in terms of prices). Definitely worth a visit though, perfect for drinks and some sightseeing.

I went to watch the open water swim arrival. (14k) Great atmosfere and very well organized. Thank you to all the organizers, the participants, the people who accompanied the swimmers, the people who organized the food stall and the ambulances on standby. Great day out. Lovely area of Milan for a stroke with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from.

The tree-lined banks, historic bridges, and colourful buildings create a lovely backdrop for a leisurely stroll. Restaurants and Cafes: Naviglio grande is famous for its numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes that line the canal. Very pleasant place of the city to stroll around without checking the time. The view is amazing, especially during sunset. There are several venues for eating and drinking, offering the most varied food types, from typical Italian cuisine to international cuisine. Definitely worth going more than once.

Restaurants and cafes clutter the area. Perfect for a romantic walk or just chilling along the length of the canal. It can be quite crowded especially at night.

The area is very lovely to visit especially in the evening. There are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. Prices are a bit expensive. You can walk along the canal. In the morning you can't realize the beauties. If you want to take your drink and have a seat along the canal I recommend you to go Navigli Darsena. There you will find what you look for.

Once you are in Milan, I recommend skipping the centre of Milan and coming here. Very lively place and has lots of restaurants on one side and one side with bars and small snacks. Walking along the canal/river is very nice, especially during sunset. There are multiple of space around teh area ro park your car there, not sure if it should be paid but I parked my car there and walked only 2 minutes to the place and had dinner with no ticket.

Although it's quite touristy (which means you should generally avoid go to bars there), the scenery of the canal and the livelyhood of the neighbourhood make it a must-see in Milan. The atmosphere is quite different from the rest of the city, it is more laid back, more popular, more "artsy".

A different side of Milano. I did not visit in the evening , which is (as I heard) the best time to visit. It was a hot Saturday mid noon , lots of great restaurants and there was a kind of a street market with clothes ,jewlery and other stuff.

  • 5/5 Cathair 7 months ago on Google
Lovely during the day to see the canal and chill at some of the bars and restaurants. It really comes alive in the evening with people doing for dinner, drinks or just a walk about. It was one of my favourite areas in Milan.

  • 5/5 Christina I. 6 months ago on Google
Wonderful and relaxing area to walk around. There are benches to sit alongside the river. A lot of cute shops and restaurants are on the nearby streets. I will definitely be going back.

A lovely place to sit by the canal and have food or drink. There are a huge amount of bars and restaurants that span the length of the canal all the way from the lovers lock bridge back down to the main street. This area is a vibrant cultural place which comes alive at night. A word of ⚠️ though. This place has a lot of street and rose sellers so if you're looking for a peaceful and quiet spot, this isn't it. However it is definitely a place to visit as a couple or in a group. Would probably avoid this area with small children as the atmosphere is more of a party area with some small clubs and music. The bars are very welcoming and friendly and sitting out on the street whilst enjoying a drink or food is rather lovely.

The canal is full of life, head over here during the weekends and you'll see the canal as a flea market. It was full of amazing vintage Italian items that the vendors are kind to explain the history about. The canal is also great to take a walk and sit in a nearby café or bar.

  • 4/5 Ekin 9 months ago on Google
Not a bad place to visit in Milano, definitely has a different vibe comparing to other neighborhoods. In summer, would be better to go there in afternoon or even in the evening. Since it gets very crowded in the evening, might be better to book a place in advance.

  • 5/5 Goran 9 months ago on Google
A very nice place to visit, exciting and full of life no matter when you arrive, day or night. Lots of restaurants on both sides of the canal, where you can sit near the water and cool off, especially in summer. It really is a “must see” in Milan.

  • 5/5 Anup S. 10 months ago on Google
Arriving at dusk, I found it to be the perfect time to explore this area. Despite the bustling crowds of both locals and international tourists, the atmosphere was vibrant and lively. Numerous restaurants offered mouthwatering cuisine, adding to the allure of the place. The best part is that this area can be easily traversed on foot, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in its ambiance and discover its hidden treasures

  • 5/5 Khaliun 1 year ago on Google
Went there to check out their vintage flea market that happens on the last Sunday of every month. Very crowded throughout the whole day. Lots of stalls ranging from clothes to furniture. You can find many antique items, some cheap and some overpriced

  • 3/5 Khalil J. 1 year ago on Google
During the day time its mainly closed with the exception of a few restaurants and Gelato shops, basically concrete on either side of the water, lots of bars, decent breeze. Water is surprisingly clean being in the city, you can see the fish swim. I think it may be more worth visiting at night.

Great Place to hangout and have vibes, each time has each vibe! It was great to walk along .There are good foods and restaurant all around. Each time of the day is special! But night time is the time to enjoy the most

  • 5/5 Stefan F. 2 years ago on Google
Popular, touristic area of Milan. The bigest "movida" neighnourhoods of the city where you can choose from a big variety of popular "aperitivo", during the "happy-hour", offered by the dozens of bars, pubs and bistros. It also hosts, on the last Sunday of each month, the city's biggest street market where you can find antiques, clothes, artworks, books and much more.

An extremely busy picnic spot in Milan, having hundreds of restaurants, hotels, food streets and much more to enjoy. For business point of view, this area have full advantage of running any fast food or cultural business. Really recommended.

Cute canal with the festive crowd enjoying the AC Milan match on a lazy Sunday afternoon. A good place to meet up for a drink or two.

  • 4/5 Tom R. 10 months ago on Google
Some great places to eat on one side and the other side is lined with bars/buffets crammed with locals and tourists on Friday and Saturday nights. A picturesque stroll at any time or day of the week. Google the history of the canals and port for a fascinating story of thinking big and successful urban renewal. Make no small plans.

Nice place in Milano. Do not go to All you can eat 12euro , you will get a playe with different appetizer (most pre-made) and the pizza is frozen pizza (margherita). Also the drinks are the most horrible one.

  • 5/5 Priya M. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect place to spend a relaxing evening with a loved one in Milan. It is usually crowded on weekends. However you can grab a seat at one of the cafés along the Navigli canal and sip by some Aperol while you spend time with your loved one. Even if you’re visiting Milan for a day, you absolutely cannot miss this place and the aperitivo.

  • 5/5 Noa E. 1 year ago on Google
Sunday market in the end of every month is very cool. Prices are not high. It closes around 5pm. It's full with people so it a little hard to walk. But I would recommend it because it's very special and it has some real high quality things. Clothes, vinyl, furniture, glasses,. jewelry and more

  • 4/5 Zahab N. 1 year ago on Google
The place is decent for a romantic walk. The water seems a little dirty but then again probably there's no nicer place in Milan to do such an activity. The bada around offer buffets but seem a little shady. In short just go for a walk or smoke sheesha but don't keep high expectations. It's nice for Milan but not very decent as other European cities

  • 5/5 Amir I. 1 year ago on Google
One of the nicest places we got to see in Milano! We found many calm and inviting coffee shops, merchantises shops and one special records shop that had amazing veraiety to choose from. Clean water at the cannal, romantic mood at evening and lots of places to take nice pictures :)

  • 4/5 Plamena C. 1 year ago on Google
It’s a lovely place for a walk or for drinks with friends, but there is not much variety of choices of places to eat. It was a downside, especially in the rainy (and hungry) conditions we encountered.

  • 5/5 Andrejs L. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to visit, beautifully decorated, a lot of bars, restaurants around, so you definitely could find one you like. We were there around 17:00, and with every moment it became more crowded, so if you want feel vibe of place come later, but then there is possibility that best places will be fully occupied.

  • 5/5 Jude J. 2 years ago on Google
This is downtown Milan, the heart of night lifeof the city. The place is great to relax in the early evening and great for partying at night, you can just walk around taking in the beautiful views or pick a bar/restaurant amounts the many you'll find in this area. You can sit outside but the canal with your friends enjoying food and drinks you brought from home or you can get something from many little kiosks you'll find scattered around, there are also many little parks surrounding this area of the city.

  • 4/5 Roy T. 1 year ago on Google
The canals of Milan. A nice areas to walk along the canals. We had breakfast at a small cafe then explore the area. A very different environment to Duomo square where it's always super busy with tourists.
