Crystal Rock Trail

Hiking area

👍 Very nice park. The trails are mostly paved, which is great for people looking for an easy hike. It is a little confusing hiking around if you are using Google Maps - not all the trails are marked - so I recommend following the signs or using a trail app/website. There are a lot of small parking lot... People often mention trail, trails,

Very nice park. The trails are mostly paved, which is great for people looking for an easy hike. It is a little confusing hiking around if you are using Google Maps - not all the trails are marked - so I recommend following the signs or using a trail app/website. There are a lot of small parking lots throughout the park and lots of street parking by the entrance. If you like dogs, lots of people walk their dogs here!

This paved trail is a hidden gem which runs along a beautiful stream and creek. It's not overly challenging and perfect for all ages. It's nearly completely covered in tree cover. The path is both for hiking and biking.

We have been looking for walking trails that are natural, but not nature trail paths. This walking trail is actually a prepared path with an excellent surface that is smooth. One does not have to watch your footing so you can enjoy winding through the woods. It is completely shaded, heavily shaded, so it is much cooler during the hot afternoons. We have walked it several times and will make it a regular destination, it's that enjoyable. Varied walking from level to slight grades and a few higher grades, but no real challenging hills making it easy to keep up a rapid walking pace.

Connects to neighborhoods on many paths making it very accessible. The path is wide so bikers and people walking don't need to push themselves into the edge of the trail just to make sure they aren't hit by a biker, etc. It connects to another trail that brings you to the black hills regional Park. Both trails are fantastic. All the smaller trails that come off of the larger ones are shown on Google maps as green lines so it's easy to navigate if you want to explore and find your way out later

I've hiked these trails 38 years now. I brought my children with me this time - still just as pretty!

The most beautiful national park. In the summertime the trees overhead cool the temperature 5 degrees - it's always pleasant. I love coming here with my family to walk and enjoy the creek. It isn't just a paved path with a thin veil of trees along the sides, you are completely surrounded by forest. The forest rangers also do a good job taking care of the paths etc.
