VERY
RELAXED.
After
50
years
living
in
Rochdale,
we
moved
away
2
years
ago
and
this
was
our
first
visit
back.
Everywhere
in
the
Exchange
was
smart,
welcoming
and
looked
fresh
and
well
cared
for.
The
lifts
were
SPARKLY
clean
and
smelled
clean
too.
Well
done
to
management
and
to
the
cleaning
staff,
you
have
certainly
raised
the
standard
high.
The
folk
serving
in
the
shops
seemed
cheerier
and
more
relaxed
too.
In
fact
Rochdale
has
been
through
some
hard
economic
times
but
the
town
centre
looks
cleaner
and
more
invigorated
than
we
last
remembered
it.
We
are
camping
at
Bury
and
have
to
say
that
sadly,
Bury
now
looks
very
tired
and
shabby.
Well
done
Rochdale.
If
you
could
now
sort
out
a
jolly
market
near
the
river
and
put
some
daytime
coffee
shops
there
too
to
be
able
to
watch
the
world
go
by,
with
lively
evening
entertainment
and
restaurants/eating
places
along
the
esplanade,
which
is
what
everyone
thought
was
in
the
original
vision,
then
folk
would
come
from
miles
around.
In
this
area,
there
have
always
been
too
many
nearby
towns
chasing
the
same
shopping
wallets
...
Rochdale
is
more
beautiful
in
the
centre
than
Oldham,
Bury,
Middleton
etc.
Developed
as
an
UPMARKET
evening/nightime
destination
attraction
around
the
river
with
visible
security
to
deter
drunken
behaviour,
free
evening
parking
and
serviced
by
the
tram,
it
will
attract
more
wallets
and
less
scallywags!
Some
lights
and
some
attractive
small
wildlife
sculptures/scenarios
down
by
the
waters
edge
would
look
beautiful.
Rochdale,
you
have
a
beautiful,
quality
looking
town
centre,
now
encourage
your
councilors
to
get
brave
and
creative.
