I have been to many Mexican restaurants because Mexican food is my absolute favorite. Cielito Lindo has been one of my favorites for over 15 years. I have never had anything that I did not completely love here. The food is authentic, delicious, and I am definitely obsessed. If I lived closer I would probably be here every single day. The staff is attentive and friendly. The chips and salsa are awesome and I love that it comes with a separate bottle of hotter salsa. I have not one bad thing to say and I highly recommend checking this place out!

Great Mexican restaurant on 2nd and National. Super friendly and quick. Great chips and salsa. Normally, I get steak tacos, which are great, but was feeling eggs. I went with the breakfast special. 2 eggs with steak in a green sauce, which was a great flavor combo. Also served with tortillas in a red sauce, sour cream, and cheese.

The food here is below average and not worth finishing. I’m pretty surprised with all the high ratings for this place. The chips and salsa were standard. No complaints. The guacamole was okay but had no salt or lime in it. I got a regular pork burrito. First red flag was when I saw the radioactive red grease seeping out of the burrito. Typically when it’s THAT red it is not good in my experience. The meat was chewy and absent of flavor and overly greasy (see my picture for reference). That’s pretty shocking to me considering tomato, lettuce, sour cream, and beans are all mellow flavors—you’d think the flavor of the pork would be more apparent. If they were making an attempt to serve al pastor they completely missed the mark. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong thing so I tried rice and beans from a friend’s plate and there was no flavor on the rice and the beans tasted like water. The others in my party shared similar opinions with their orders as well. Service was decent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I really liked the environment of the space too, but the food here is not it.

Convenient location in such an active area with lots of night life and good food.

Delicious Mexican food! I got the green enchiladas with cheese and they were great the sauce was perfect. The beans and rice also amazing. Nice and fast service! I’m Mexican and it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant and this one I recommend 100%. Also love the wall and ceiling paintings ❤️

I've been here several times now. Overall great food, great portions. You should leave full for sure Waitresses are great and friendly. I've had something different each visit and continue to plan to stop here each trip to Milwaukee.

Nachos Supreme with pork and Nachos Supreme with steak. Both plates consist of chips, melted cheese, pinto beans, sour cream, guacamole, and pickled jalapeños. Toppings to chips ratio felt a little off balanced. Could've used more meat. Listed as an appetizer, portion size was enough for 1 person. Overall, both plates were delicious and worth the price.

Awesome food!! Service was okay. Seated with my daughter at 1:30ish with wide open dining room and we were seated next to a group of 8 that were quite loud. Would've liked to be able to hear our conversation. The group wasn't unruly, just could've seated us better.

Are you in the mood for Mexican food I don't know where to go look no further. Cielito Lindo have great Mexican food that's full of flavor robust and enjoyable with plenty of dishes to choose from you're trying to find the right Mexican cuisine to fit your taste. They also have some nice margaritas in a few delicious flavors.One of my favorite dishes to try is the Molcajete, it comes with chicken steak and shrimp which is very flavorful and seasoned well sure to knock your socks off through your shoes. If you don't believe me come and see for yourself...

Best salsa we have had out to eat in awhile, but the quac was not worth it. 1/2 pitcher of House Margaritas was a steal! Food came out in honest to god, 6 minutes, maybe even less. Chicken burrito with rice and beans, nothing to go crazy about. Average score - 7.5/10 burrito. Good go to spot, found itself a spot on the top 5 Mexican spots in MKE. Not greasy, solid fresh food.

Yummy!! Authentic cuisine, greats chips and salsa, and large portions! I added avocado to my pork tacos and it came with rice and beans. The service was nice and personable.

Super super yummy! I had steak quesadillas and my husband got a burrito covered in Mole sauce. The margaritas were also great. Highly recommend the rainbow margarita. This is our second time dining here, and we love it! Super nice staff, nice environment, and good presentation.

Very thankful for their parking lot in an otherwise street parking only area. Interior is very colorful as with many Mexican restaurants. They have a sky painted on their ceiling, perhaps to go along with their name, literally translated as "beautiful sky". First batch of chips and salsa comes complimentary as you're browsing the menu. In general their taco meats don't feel totally authentic and they skip all the exotic meat options and stick to good old pork, steak, chicken or ground beef. They also default to tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, but will ask if you want cilantro and onions. So I usually skip the tacos here and go for their plates. Molcajete is wonderful. It's got everything you want in a stone bowl and it goes a long way. The Bistec Perron, skirt steak with onions and jalapeño peppers (actually, just one pepper), has become one of my go-to Mexican dishes since being on keto, and is pretty delicious here. Menudo - I try this dish at all my favorite Mexican restaurants. I still haven't found a place that makes it as good as I remember it from California, but Cielito's menudo is the best one I've found in Milwaukee (and Racine, where my otherwise favorite Mexican restaurant lies). A steady favorite!

Really good food and drinks!! My plate was perfect just like I ordered it, nice atmosphere, and great service provided by Brenda. She made us feel at home and a very attentive server.

Be careful of Brenda will tack on extra charges. Never had extra chips and salsa. I’ve been several times during week day and my usual lady at the bar wasn’t here today she is always attentive and nice. Food great just the service from others could be better.

OMG!! Cielito Lindo never disappoints. For any occasion, the food is always wonderful, and the display, so pleasing to the eyes, and well the stomach too. This is shrimp fajitas and fried ice cream, oh and ceviche. Another celebration, new food items, same great taste.

1st time visitors. Food was definitely fantastic, the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was low key and relaxing, unlike a certain place around the corner lol. Rainbow margarita wasn't as strong as I'm used to but still was delicious. Had fried ice cream for dessert as well.

Pros: Family favorite for great Mexican food! We dine here just about every month. The food is authentic and always delicious, hot, and consistent. Table service is quick and as friendly as they can be as the dining floor is always busy. Margaritas are sweet and strong. Rice, beans, salsa, and guac are incredibly simple but so flavorful and fresh. Don't miss out on the queso fundido with chorizo and fresh tortillas. Have not had a bad dish! Con: Parking can be limited as the lot is small almost always full.

This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. We recommend going here but make sure you know what you are ordering.

They totally made my order wrong. I asked for no lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes on both my burritos. Only cilantro, cheese, and onions. Well guess what I received lettuce, tomatoes, sourcream and beans. I couldn't believe it when I got home. My wife couldn't eat hers at all because shes allergic to tomatoes. $19 bucks down the drain for nothing. Please check your food before leaving there. I personally won't be coming back again.

My first visit here but enjoyed it. Service was good. They were busy. Food definitely more authentic. Enjoyed the Enchilada Sauce which was a nicer thicker texture than other Mexican places where it can be overwhelmingly runny. The specialty dish was definitely filling. Margaritas good. An extensive menu.
