Fun and educational tour and experience. The Ninja tour guide, runs through different periods and explains the history of Ninja, Samurai, Shoguns etc. The ninja Star throwing contest adds some fun interactive experience. Definitely recommend.

It was such a fun and interesting experience. You learn a lot about the history of samurais and ninjas. At the end you play a game, which was pretty fun. Our tour guide, Yutaro, was great! I really recommend coming here.

First of all: a great experience getting to train and use the incredible samurai sword. Definitely a 5 star experience. One off because the groups were so packed and it took so long for everyone to get their turn. Way too full for the room but the teacher did an amazing job and I would definitely recommend it, they should just let people know it will take 3-4 hours because following appointments / plans were messed up in our case.

I loved it. It was really interesting and fun. Good guide who made many jokes and gave a lot of information. It was really interesting and I learned a lot. If you want to go it's better to book in advance.

Thank you to the staff and Ryo-san for teaching me and for making me feel okay even when I was nervous haha! 1000/10 recommend‼️🔥

EDIT: I had the luck of going to both tours, with the 2nd guide (Sherlock, he's really called that way!) And he was super nice too! He gives detailed explanations about the costumes & the daily uses & changes of katanas that were extra helpful. I recommend both guides completely, they give different perspectives & different details but both worth it! This tour was sooo worth it! As a costume maker it was a great luxury to see the details of armors and weapons that close and well preserved, So was an excellent guide with comprehensive and funny explanations. Also the shuriker throwing activity was safe and children-friendly. I will definitely will my friends here next time I come back to Kyoto.

Excellent experience. We got the full Ninja Experience package. The facilitators were very knowledgeable and had excellent English, really engaging and enthusiastic. We had a tour, some practice throwing darts and chopaticks, and using blow-darts. We also tried on Ninja wear and Samurai armour. Lots of photo opportunities. Would totally recommend 😎

Super fun and informative. I learned a lot more than I expected and the tour guides are so sweet and good humored. Also bear in mind the main entrance to the museum is on the second floor! Looks for banners/signs.

What a peaceful place and very insightful tour we got around its Samurai museum. English tour guide and teacher, so it’s perfect for foreigns! If you came to Tokyo don’t forget to add this activity to your list and stop by here. I promesa you won’t regret! 🤩🇯🇵

Amazing staff who helped me take Part of the experience despite not booking prior to showing up although they don’t normally advise to do so! The Sensei who taught me was very kind and knowledgable and made the whole experience very enjoyable! Would definitely come again with friends as a group experience!

We joined the sword experience and we really enjoyed it! We were taught by a real samurai descendant and he was very kind and patient when teaching. We learned a lot from this experience about swords and how to swing it, and basic mannerisms during a fight like bowing before and after the fight. This was such an educational and fun experience and it was all thanks to the kind staff!

Very cool to do and 10/10 recommend. I recommend making a reservation at least 2 days beforehand. We first got to wear samurai clothing and make some pictures. The people at the location were very helpful with pictures as well. After that we got training dor using a katana starting with a wooden sword. At the end everybody got to slice a tatami pillar ome by one. After the experience we had a full tour of the museum including some ninja start trowing experience. The total price was about 88 euros per person and fully worth it.

  • 5/5 Jake T. 5 years ago on Google
Had so much fun! The staff is very friendly and speak fluent english, so the worries of a language barrier don’t matter. The price is more than worth it for it’s basic package, inclusive of a sword demo, ninja “training”, and the chance to wear authentic samurai headdresses, all wrapped nicely in a local history lesson

We had the Ninja and Samurai Basic experience package. It was very worth it, especially with the samurai history. Kai was very clear and concise with some wit. We truly enjoyed it did some ninja throws and took some memorable photos. What a good way to spend our son 's 7th bday celebration!

A very cool and informative museum. They are very tourist friendly and speak English very well! The tour guide we had was fun, knowledgeable, and energetic which made the whole experience worth while. You will learn the history of samurai and ninja and then finish by throwing shuriken (rubber but they still stick into the foam target wall) and dressing as samurai for photos. Bring your kids for sure. There is a combo deal with the Kimono Tea Ceremony as well in the area. It's well worth it.

  • 5/5 Jan N. 1 year ago on Google
It was a fun experience as well as really getting some useful knowledge on the topic of samurai and ninjas. We also got to try to throw a shuriken or to dress as a samurai! Great value for the price.

  • 3/5 Samuel R. 10 months ago on Google
Very mediocre experience, I didn't really learn anything new despite not knowing that much (martial arts for 5 years a played Nioh once). But for somebody who knows nothing about Japanese culture or history it might be interesting. The price was also quite high considering the content. Got a plastic shuriken tho.

A great activity to do. We went as a family of 5 and loved getting dressed all in black and learning about Ninja. My eldest won the ninja star throwing competition and we enjoyed the blow pipes as well. Followed by a good tour of the samurai museum for good measure. Best to book in advance.
