One of the cheapest hotels in Asakusa, Tokyo. Room was spacious for Japanese standard. Clean rooms and nice lobby! Guys, don’t forget to checkout from hotel in time like me. They won’t offer you room again! Be careful about check out time.

If you're a budget-conscious traveler on the go, this is one of the best deals in all of Tokyo. People always claim that Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities on the planet, and that's true, if you have no idea what you are doing. You can easily snag a room at this eminently clean establishment for $50 USD. There's a Yoshinoya across the street, which is cheap and delicious, and a 7-11 on the next corner; and as anyone who has been to Japan can tell you, the experience of a Japanese 7-11 is wildly different than the US. The rooms are the size of shoeboxes (like every hotel room in Tokyo), but if you want to explore this city of limitless wonders, the price and location are hard to beat! Walking distance to Sensoji Temple, Nakamise Arcade, Tokyo SkyTree and much more!

Whole building smells like cigarette smoke, regardless of what floor your staying. Breakfast that is supplied at the on site restaurant (separate business) was awful. Highly recommend staying anywhere else.

Location is good. Service of the staff are great. Only issue I had was that the was a lingering smell of smoke when I have a no smoking room, and also the toilet seat had some sticky stuff that I had to use 70% alcohol to wipe off. Other than that room size is pretty good considering Japan's norms

Could not be more happy with our stay. They upgraded us for free at the front desk. Rooms are excellent and clean. Very close to all the trains you need to explore Tokyo. Would recommend to anyone! Thanks for the wonderful experience

Room is what expected, not huge, it's a bed, table, bathroom, fridge., everything that was described. Restaurants (2 of), would recommend panda restaurant over biochi, staff alot more friendly, easier service and considering biochi is supposed to be the a la carte restaurant food was better in panda, location is amazing we travelled about with some hiccups but that was us, easy access to all areas, staff were helpful and friendly, so many things to see you end with neck ache and swollen legs, fantastic time had, if I return to this area would have no problems staying here, all in all, no it's not five star luxury but you are not paying for that, clean, courteous staff and nice atmosphere ( free beer in lobby at certain time), alot of exploring to do, not enough time, rake festival was crazy but amazing, could carry on but will get boring, go to asakusa, go to sunroute enjoy yourselves as we have, going home exhausted but educated

A modest hotel fits for its purpose. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The location is good (Right opposite Tawaramachi Station and 10 to 20 minutes walking distance to Asakusa Station which is accessible to both Narita and Haneda Airports and Ueno Station which is connected to JR lines and the Shinkansen). There are many convenience stores and eateries around, a few supermarkets and even a 24 hours Donki. The best part is probably the beer service in the evening. Grab one if you have a chance!

Absolutely wonderful hotel, in a great location with lovely staff. We stayed for 10 nights and absolutely loved the location, so close to train stations, landmarks and restaurants. We also had a city view which was beautiful. The staff are incredible. My husband lost his phone during a tour and the staff called the company for us and managed to locate his phone within 2 hours! Fantastic service. I can not recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely be back

The hotel is definitely on the older side. They gave us a room with a bigger bed but on the flip side, it reduces the amount of space to put your luggage. The location is absolutely amazing. The reason for the low rating is because the bathroom smelt like sweat. We weren't able to figure out why or where the smell came from but everytime we stepped into the bathroom, it was unbearable. I asked the staff to see if someone can come clean it again but due to our later check in time, the cleaning staff weren't available. We only stayed one night so we didn't make a big deal out of it.

We had a great experience at this hotel for our 5 night stay. We arrived quite early in the morning since we had an early flight, and left our suitcases at reception before check-in. We decided to come back to the hotel after roaming around the city and wait in the lobby for check-in as we were quite exhausted. The staff were kind enough to allow us to check-in a bit earlier without us even asking. The room size is enough for 2 people however if you have large luggage, you will find it difficult to constantly open and close them as there isn’t much movement space. The amenities are great and the location is even better. We were always walking around the city as there were many things to see and many great restaurants. It is a nice quiet area too. We would stay here again.

This review is about the restaurant (Niku Kitchen Boichi) and not the hotel stay. I didn't stay here but ate at the restaurant connected to the hotel. The restaurant is nice from the outside and the inside. 🙂 The place is very clean, the staff are friendly/ helpful, and the service was excellent. 👌 The prices are fair and for what I got, I thought it was worth the price. 👍👍 The food looked and tasted amazing. 👏 Whether you're staying at the hotel or in the area and you want a great meal, I'd recommend this place. 😏👍

stayed 5 nights here a few years back the hotel is around 10 mins walk to the asakusa subway station where you can take the Ginza line (yellow) trains to central Tokyo. Its also only 5 mins from the impressive Sinjo Temple and gate and is a great location for the festival period in May and not far away from the Sumo Stadium across the river. although the name states budget hotel, the Sunroute Asakusa is classed as a 'business hotel' in Japan. The rooms are small but perfectly acceptable for a short stay and the good price. The decor is very much of the western style and the reception staff all speak excellent English. The hotel restaurant (called 'Johnathans' for some reason) has a friendly atmosphere and a good selection of western food as well as traditional Japanese fare (although the staff here don't really speak English). Overall, a nice, well priced hotel.

Very small rooms and ultra small bathrooms, air-conditioning that gets switched into heating mode in November when day temperatures are still in low 20s. Otherwise staff helpful, well located and sufficient for most needs
