I didn't know how to rate this gym because I had mixed feelings here. The place is nice and I love how they have an upper more normal gym and a lower more hardcore gym. As it is expected in JP, the staff was super polite, the place was immaculate, and so unlike the states, everything was where it was supposed to be (maybe a little too much). The one HUGE complain I have is their tattoo rule. I mean, working with long sleeves wasn't very good for me. Granted, they were polite about letting me know about it, but back home, my local gym would be empty as every single guy pretty much has a tattoo. They just need to abolish that stupid rule. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars from me

Large gym with nice facilities however their tattoo rule is extremely over the top. Yes some gyms around Japan will have a no tattoo policy, and ask you just to not purposely display your artwork. But this place is next level stringent on wrapping every millimeter of you up so nothing is shown! They are so strict on the policy that even my partner who's an influencer for golds gym could not get any leeway. Quite ridiculous considering this is a western brand gym in a prime location which of course is going to attract foreigners! Quite honestly, lighten up, change your policy, and allow more business! In short good facilities but steer clear if you have tattoos, the hassle is not worth your time.

Visited this gym on 2x separate occasions; see below feedback 1. Denied entry first visit as I didn't have my passport and they were incredibly rude even though I had a digital copy - I travelled 45mins from my hotel. 2. Second visit; a) no tattoos are permitted so I was forced to wear my jumper during my workout b) I was officially cautioned for super-setting; they even presented me with a laminated warning card c) I was forced to wear their shoes as they wouldn't allow me to wear my near new nike runners for reasons I will never know. d) after completing my workout I wanted to purchase a protein shake and they wouldn't allow me to purchase over the counter, instead I had to purchase a ticket from a vending machine which has all Japenese text and rather than help me they mocked & laughed at me as I was trying to figure it out and eventually demanded they help me rather than standing around and laughing at me. Honestly, the worst gym experience I've ever experienced and the first time in my life that I experienced racism (I'm Australian). Staff don't speak any English, are rude and arrogant and the other comments on here are very accurate.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars for how appalling they treated me. I am medically exempt from wearing a face mask due to medical reasons. Wearing a mask worsens my condition which I explained as best I could to the staff who could not speak English very well. I provided legal documentation/medical documentation which they declined and said if I wanted to train I must wear a mask. I don’t believe they understand they are liable for any harm this may cause my health as the results are severe for me. I have had no issues anywhere else; Disneyland, shops, anytime fitness ect. They have all been understanding. It is very upsetting as an athlete in IFBB that I was medically and racially discriminated against. Golds Gym is one of the only gyms, apart from powerhouse which was shut due to AO, that caters for BB athletes. Aside from this I also know of several competitors who were turned away due to tattoos. This was both genders. If you are white, do not come here. This gym appears to be racist or at least does not care about health and their liability to ensure visitors including myself are safe. I have never been racially discriminated against in Japan, so this is a first. Absolutely appalling, even more so to risk someone’s health by forcing to wear a mask. Maybe educate your employees on mandates and exemptions as if someone wears one and they are not medically supposed to - you are held liable for any injury or death. It is a serious problem.

Water fountain tastes like chloride, too many rules and weird locals. The only thing I like is that they open 24hrs. However, they don’t open till late on Sundays “until 8pm”. They don’t open at all on every second Monday of each month. They don’t have unmanned hours like other gyms. Gold’s gym in Japan is way more expensive than other ones in other countries. Trainers or gym staff would never help you even if the bar falls on you it happened to me once and to other members they stand there and do nothing.
