This is a beautiful hotel. Our bed was very comfortable. The room and all the common areas we visited were very clean and well decorated. Bathroom in our room was spotless. I'm not sure what brand of toiletries they supply but the shower gel smelled fantastic! Plenty of clean towels too. There is parking structure attached so we didn't have to go outside to enter the hotel. We had burgers at the restaurant there and they were fantastic. You can even order a whole pigs head if that's your fancy. Great experience overall. The only thing I can complain about is the soga vending machines didn't work on either floor. Kind of a bummer. So bring your own snacks and beverages. I would 100% stay there again though. It's a really nice place.

Visiting from Texas! Hotel is very nice, clean and looks new. The staffs are very accommodating, specially Anita Anunciacion (front office manager). She helped us get settled in and the checked in went fast. We would come back and stay when we come and visit MN again. Totally recommend this hotel. Staff are really awesome!

This hotel is in a great location for downtown events. About a 10 min walk to watch a Twins game. The room was clean & spacious. The shower turn off was a little hard and the water wasn't all that hot. A magnifying mirror would also come in handy. The bed was very comfy. We loved the sheets. Parking is at a public parking lot attached to the property. See the front desk for a bit of a discounted parking ticket.

Lovely hotel. Our room was very clean and nicely appointed. Great size too. The tub in the bathroom made for a nice bath. Jalial was awesome when checking us in - very friendly and chatty and gave us some certificates for the restaurant/bar when we told him it was our anniversary - made sure we had a nice room with a good city view. Only complaints are that the bed is a little overly firm and it’s loud- but I used a noise machine app on my phone and still slept well. The bar/restaurant looks nice and breakfast was okay (not great). We will stay here again.

They’ve lost 2 stars by adding a $20 “resort fee” for their amenities, which is bogus. This is not a resort. There is no free parking, no pool, no spa, no rooftop whatever, and no groovy lounge areas to look cool in. The Wi-Fi is slow. You can’t order room service. Only 2 floors have ice machines, and the rooms don’t have microwaves (those are with the ice machines). Your room doesn’t even get the bed made on a daily basis. So I see absolutely no reason to charge any sort of “resort fee”. I’ve been coming here since before the pandemic and they haven’t even updated a single thing to make it seem fancier. Ugh! The staff, who deserve to be well compensated with benefits, are always so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept. Aside from the irritating “resort fee”, this is a great value for a hotel that’s in walking distance of all sorts of downtown Minneapolis fun.

Just checked out today: the front desk either has no staff or you have to wait for them to show up. The most ridiculous thing is they said they accept ESA but still charge for it - it’s $100. The communication between staff are super in consistent. I don’t know what’s wrong with their management team. I don’t feel welcomed here - I can tell staff are poorly trained.

Curtis, the valet, was impeccable! He was extraordinarily kind and took great care of my car. I was glad he was there when I left so that I could thank him for his kindness. The girls at the front desk were also very kind and helpful!

I organize international exchanges for international leaders and have been bringing groups here at least three times a month, every month, for week-long stays since June. They LOVE this hotel. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, it's around the block from Marshall's, Nicollet Mall and the Light Rail to Mall of America. They take their photo in the lobby next to the wall of wine bottles and futuristic chairs. They comment on how fresh the lobby smells (it always smells amazing, I've been here several times). Great staff. Just a wonderful and economic experience. I can't say enough. I never plan to have my guests stay anywhere else.

Very odd and confusing stay. One of the positive things was that I had lost a pair of very sentimental earrings at the hotel and they were able to recover one of them from the room we had stayed at, and held onto it for me safely until I was able to pick it up. However, our room faced into a weird hallway/pit that was lit up constantly in blue. Very odd but okay, didn't effect the room or the cleanliness. Another major thing to look out for is smoking fees. I am not a smoker of any kind yet was charged in three separate transactions for a "smoking fee". When I called to ask they first tried to tell me it was the nightly rate for the room. Wrong, I had already paid through Priceline. Then it was decided it was a smoking fee. Again, that is not possible as who stayed in the room are NOT smokers. They didn't explain why the charges are split up and never explained/proved any way of us smoking. Be aware because they charged a non-smoker a $287 "smokers fee". Also don't bother trying to get it figured out between you and the hotel, just go straight to your bank.

The hotel overall was very nice and the staff were friendly but when paying $300 for a room it would be expected to have comfier beds and pillows, they sucked and there was hardly any water pressure in the shower! Our room also wasn’t ready until after the football game so we had to find somewhere else to get ready (which they did give a 25% discount for but still do not feel is adequate).

Today is May 27,2023 9:37am. I wish I could give a 0. I just had the worst experience ever at this place. The 3 concierges at the front desk were horrible. A lady named Danielle and 2 gentlemen (Mohammed and another front desk tailor). They categorically refused to give us an early Checkin although we had a reservation made starting the day before which apparently got canceled without notice. And guess what! a family came right after us and were able to have an early checkin. We explained to them that we just landed and have a very important meeting to attend if they can please do something to help us out They literally told us they can open the bathroom for us to change if we desperately need to use it. I was even willing to pay extra money for any presidential suite just to tell you how desperate I was. They kept laughing about the situation the whole time. Ridiculous! Worst customer service. Never ever go there. Complete waist of time and money.

Everything was great until they didn't tell me about a Destination fee. When I called they told me that nothing was charged and they can't see anything on my room number for a charge. My husband called, and sure enough there was a fee charged. That's not okay to treat anyone like that, be honest.

We parked in the underground here for a nearby concert. Took a while to get out and the corners were right (saw a dude scrape his vehicle off a pillar). None of that is the hotel's fault though. We parked here for over three hours and only paid six dollars. 5 stars from me!

Conveniently located downtown. Friendly, helpful staff. Room cleaning, available by request, offered at check in. Funky, fun furnishings and decor in lobby area and rooms. Well maintained and clean. Dog friendly. Parking is available in an adjacent parking structure (PWC Plaza). If you are not coming and going with your vehicle from the parking structure it is cheaper to pay on your own for parking rather than take the hotel’s daily parking rate of $34.

The hotel itself was pleasant enough, especially if you're attending events downtown. The staff were very pleasant and provided great recommendations for nearby dining, attractions, etc. The drawbacks included: no view, excessive nightly noise in the hallways from rowdy guests (slept horribly the whole stay), having to get an erroneous $325+ dinner bill cleared from a party that charged it to my room, and the $21.66 nightly "destination fee" that showed up on my card after checkout. I did not use anything that wasn't provided as part of the room. Not sure why these extra fees were added, or why they couldn't at least be disclosed on my checkout receipt. Recommended if you want to be in the heart of the action. Allow an extra $50+/day for "fees" and parking. If you need rest and recuperation, I recommend staying in Bloomington or St Paul and driving in.

The hotel staff was exceedingly polite and friendly. They made sure we were taken care of, answered all of our questions and were awesome to speak with.

There is nothing special about this hotel. This was my first time staying at a Royal Sonesta property, and I was deeply disappointed. It is a three-star hotel pretending to be a five-star. One thing that stuck out to me was who runs the dayshift and who runs the night shifts. It was extremely noticeable that during the day the dayshift the workers were mostly White, and at night, if all, were Black. It didn’t feel right, and while I do not have any proof, it appears that there may be an issue of equity in who get desirable shifts and privileges based on appearance. Cons - No Bellhops - Poor customer service from the night staff. They were inattentive and seemed more concerned with having conversations with each other than with guests. - The staff acted like they did not want to communicate any of the amenity offerings at the hotel. Basically seeming to have very little knowledge or urge to help guest. - No complimentary coffee or water in the lobby. - No scent in the hotel lobby or hallways - Terrible parking garage with a $30+ night fee - Hallways look really dreary - Not enough soap in the bathrooms Pros: - Clean rooms - Modern finishes - Comfortable beds - Good location - free WiFi

Stayed here the 1/15/2023. The gentleman checking us in was amazing. Super friendly, great customer service. Not too bad of a walk to US Bank Stadium. Parking was expensive but it is what it is in downtown Minneapolis. Would definitely stay again

Checking in was a mess the night manager was not accommodating we couldn't check in even though we had reservations. He gave us the run around.and the PM front desk staff name Tulu was on his game very perfessional .the same night we paid for an extended stay in the morning we was told we have not paid for the extended stay. The day manager made my friend feel judged because he basically had us standing at the desk asking us question that we had already answered. But he tried to fix the problem after I let him know I was writing a post about hotels and there customer service he quickly charged his disposition.

Everything went smooth and the staff, notably Melissa and Anita, went above and beyond to make sure my group had a great stay. It seemed like they genuinely cared about our stay and were eager to please. That's pretty rare for most hotels in my experience. Rooms were very nice too and location is superb. 10/10 recommendation.

This is a beautiful hotel. Worth every penny for the stay. Our original room didn't open due to a dead battery in the deadbolt and we were upgraded immediately to a nicer room on the 16th floor with a great view of downtown Minneapolis. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Royal Sonesta staff.

The proximity of the hotel to Target Field, Target Center, and US Bank Stadium is great. Unfortunately the safety of the area is questionable. The underground parking is convenient, worth the extra $8 for the secure doors and direct elevator to the hotel lobby. The room was not clean. I was expecting enhanced covid cleaning protocols. The water pressure was very low. Not sure I would stay here again.

My stay was amazing. The gym is practically a mini public gym. Has so many equipment to use, but I'm not sure if it being in the top floor was the best idea. Location is a bit confusing especially for Uber drivers. But the room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom was just perfect in terms of how the shower was made and located. Definitely recommend.

I travel a lot and was blown away by the value and service of this location. Anita at the front desk was nothing less than fantastic. A weary traveller who REALLY appreciated her friendliness and helpfulness. If you want to stay downtown Minneapolis, stay here! You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent place to stay at. I did it for the Day Stay option they have for 80 bucks. You have to pay for your meals but is 100% worth it. Food and drinks are fresh, tasty, delicious. The service is 1A, they care about you. If there’s something wrong, just kindly let someone know and they will take care of the matter promptly, nicely, whatever it is. During my stay, everything was just perfect.
