Come for the coffee, stay for the ppl. You can find me here year round. Can’t say enough about this location. Five Watt E Hennepin: an institution. Say hi to the plants. They’re very friendly. Get the Fog, no bitters. Bitters has alcohol, so if you’re Muslim, no bitters. I’m Muslim, no bitters.

The iced Atomic Blondie is the best iced drink I've ever. So well-balanced and not too sweet. Also their espresso is excellent.

My mocha was delicious. The atmosphere here is fantastic. I only wish the staff had felt more welcoming. They don't greet you when you walk in at all. I was in line for a beverage and it was probably 10 mins before I was even acknowledged by any of the three staff. I understand being busy, just want to point out how the little gesture can change a person's perspective. Also, asked for a napkin and they basically rolled their eyes because I didn't know where they kept them. I'd never been here and I don't go to coffee shops often- it wasn't a good feel when I know I can go to a coffee shop that is more inviting. The place smells great and is so cool decor wise.

Five Watt is a favorite of mine for coffee. It has a spacious dining room. It accommodates groups of all kinds from those wanting a more intimate space to large groups. The baristas are some of the finest. I’m never disappointed except when I take my last sip of coffee. It takes discipline to savor a cup of their coffee because it’s just so darned good! Love the atmosphere and aesthetic. I’ll be a regular for sure.

Purchased a chai latte and greatly appreciated the customer service. The barista was helpful in taking my order, and my drink was made quickly. Calm atmosphere inside, and enjoyed the outdoor seating option outside.

Stopped by after doing an escape room with some friends. The barista was supper and engaging and helped us narrow down our pastry options. MPLS coffee shops always have immaculate vibes and Five Watt is no exception. We loved the large geometric table, perfect for games or coworking. The Kingfield was a delightful salty and robust pick-me-up for an unseasonably warm January afternoon.

Tried a seasonal drink, all day and all night. It was different but good. Wasn't super sweet but not over bearing with an earthy taste and the foam had salt which was the different part but not bad. Also tried the cran orange pastry. Had a well balanced tart and sweetness to it. Only downside was the person who took the order was clueless to the menu and making suggestions. Had no opinion whatsoever when asked. Other than that, I'd recommend this place to try something different.

We had a really nice time at Five Watt! It has a cool vibe and spacious interior with lots of seating. We got there at 9 am on a Saturday and there were lots of empty seats and by 10 it was getting pretty full! We snagged the couch area which was nice and cozy with the sun streaming in. I got a vanilla latte with cinnamon (basically their atomic blondie without the bitters) and it was really good, albeit slightly less sweet than I prefer, but luckily I had brought some of my own sweetener and was able to sweeten it to my liking. Other than that, it was a very good latte and espresso. I brought my own 14 oz mug and they only charged me for a 10 oz but still filled it up! I was very appreciate of that. I will add as a heads up—the couch area was pretty run down—the carpet, arm chair, and couch were all visibly dirty and look like they could use a deep cleaning.

I was there around 5pm today to get a Nitro Cold Brew and wanted to pay by Visa. I don't know why but my Visa kept declining, maybe it's because my Visa is Canadian? Not sure. The lovely associate working the front saw this and we tried several times even with a different CC. After a final try only to get declined again, the associate working the front already had my drink made and told me not worry about it gave me my drink complimentary. I wish I knew her name, I can't thank her enough! Customer service at its finest 👌

Secured wifi, nice atmosphere, and a great tasty cup of coffee. Great stop to work remote at. I got the all day all night and tried to enjoy my coffee slowly but I just wanted to chug it because it was delicious! The foam on top is what got me! Pricey drink but worth it.

The cool thing about Five Watt is each location has their own unique specialty drinks that are different for each location! At the Hennepin Ave one I tried their all day/all night iced and it was delicious. It was one of their sweeter drinks which I prefer. I usually ask baristas what the sweeter drinks are before ordering, and the barista at five watt mentioned that most of their drinks could be adjusted for sweetness based on personal preference. Another great perk of this location is the large free parking lot next to it. Totally eliminates the stress of street parking in downtown! I’ve been wanting to try five watt for a while now and I’m glad I finally got to. There’s lots of seating and free Wi-Fi as well to get work done. Love the atmosphere and it’s very spacious!

I ❤️ this coffee place. Had the busy beaver this time...highly recommend! There wasn't a seat in the place so we left for a museum. Really good!

I always make a point of visiting coffee shops in other cities because it gives me a good idea of how the city's young professionals live. I really liked this place (visited twice in one day) and found the entire experience (staff, drinks, and cleanliness) to be top notch. I'd visit weekly if I lived in the area. The All Day/All Night was fantastic iced and made my drive back to Iowa super tolerable.

Typical trendy coffee shop. Easy to get to, big parking lot. Friendly and informative staff. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Beautiful space. Friendly staff. I learned about a coffee drink I’d never heard of before—Gibraltar—halfway between a macchiato and a cappuccino and served in a real glass not a paper cup no less. Thanks for a beautiful morning.

Coffee and tea was really good. There were some unique options I have never seen before. You will be paying quite a premium in my opinion. We are from out of town so maybe that is just the price of coffee in Minneapolis. I would not make it a regular stop if you are on a budget.

Honestly a really disappointing experience at Five Watt today. My drink was $7.50 which seemed disproportionately expensive for what I ordered (a small tea latte). Additionally, the environment was just gross. There was grime on the tables that couldn’t be wiped off, the floors looked like they hadn’t been swept or mopped for quite awhile, and there were literal dust bunnies on my pants when I left. I also had my toddler with me and became concerned when I realized there was a piece of sharp metal sticking out on the step area by the couches, which he could have easily cut himself on by just stepping up or down. Given the plethora of good coffee shops in the area, I’m not sure why I would come back to Five Watt or recommend that anyone else does.

The coffee, atmosphere and food are all a 10 ! I LOVE the propagated plant babies available for patrons if they wish. What a beautiful gift to offer 💗

Wonderful and interesting mixed espresso drinks. My favorite so far is the seasonal All Day/All Night drink. Each drink has such cool flavor notes, you really can't go wrong what you order.

This 5 Watt offers welcoming and spacious space with great coffee and free parking. While I’m sure all of their coffee offerings are wonderful, I come for the “Kingfield”. The Hawaiian black salt on top may look like someone flicked their cigarette over the cup, but it is the best cup in The Cities (especially for those who are not looking for a sweet cup of coffee). Big windows flood the space with inviting natural light during the day. Tables of all sizes are on offer. It’s a great venue for a casual meeting with colleagues or friends - or a place to grab some time alone with a book or sketch pad.

I love the vibes here and the drinks are always so tasty. My only suggestion is that I'd wish they'd ask if it's "for here" or "to-go". Quite disappointing to pay $9 for a latte, envisioning sipping on it out of a nice mug while studying, just for it to come out in a paper cup. Not to mention, very wasteful to use paper cups as the default.... that being said I love this coffee shop and will continue to come back and try to remember to ask it to be in a mug.
