BACKSTORY:
Years
ago
as
a
small
child
(2nd
Grade)
-
went
to
school
with
a
young
lad
named
"Danny".
It
was
a
very
short
lived
friendship.
At
the
end
of
that
school
year
his
family
moved
away.
The
following
year
my
family
moved
and
a
whole
new
life
began
for
me
as
well.
I
would
reminisce
from
time
to
time
and
one
in
a
great
while
Danny
popped
up
in
my
mind.
I
always
wondered
whatever
happened
to
him.
Fast
forward
40+
years
later
(and
the
internet)
and
Danny
popped
into
my
head
again.
I
thought
"I
wonder
if
the
internet
had
anything
to
share.
One
internet
search
later
and
I
was
reading
articles
&
reviews
about
Danny
and
Our
Kitchen.
I
vowed
one
day
I
was
going
visit
Our
Kitchen.
DISCLAIMER
-
Not
knowing
if
Danny
would
remember
me
or
not
(not
likely)
-
I
had
no
intentions
of
making
my
visit
a
"thing".
I
did
not
introduce
myself.
For
full
transparency
-
I
have
no
bias
for
the
review
of
the
restaurant
or
food.
Not
having
any
contact
with
the
owner
in
in
47
years
I
have
nothing
to
gain
or
to
loose
by
my
honesty
in
this
review.
REVIEW
-
After
we
dropped
our
car
off
for
service,
my
wife
and
I
decided
to
make
it
a
"breakfast
date
morning"
-
and
I
thought
this
was
the
PERFECT
opportunity
to
visit
Our
Kitchen!
We
arrived
around
8:30am.
Originally
I
wanted
a
patio
seat
outside
-
but
since
they
were
full,
we
ended
up
being
seated
inside
in
a
little
corner
facing
the
grill.
That
was
really
a
blessing
in
disguise!
After
ordering,
we
were
fortunate
to
have
a
front
row
seat
watching
Danny
do
his
thing.
As
many
reviews
before
me
have
said
-
watching
Danny
prepare
the
orders
was
a
site
to
behold.
It
was
like
watching
a
orchestra
-
grab
some
bread,
into
the
toaster
the
bread
went,
flip
some
hash
browns,
pour
some
new
pancakes
on
the
griddle,
cheese
up
that
omelet
in
the
pan,
grab
some
eggs
out
of
the
fridge,
butter
that
toast,
prepare
a
plate,
new
eggs
on
the
griddle,
throw
some
new
hash
browns
down
on
the
griddle
-
and
so
it
went
throughout
our
time
there.
But,
that
did
not
stop
Danny
and
his
staff
from
some
friendly
banter!
I
am
almost
certain
he
did
not
recognize
me
during
my
visit.
Here
is
where
I
briefly
contemplated
saying
a
long
overdue
hello
to
an
old
(and
brief)
friendship
-
but,
I
decided
against
it.
I'm
a
little
oddly
anti-social,
and
Danny
was
a
VERY
busy
fella
-
I
allowed
our
interactions
to
remain
friendly,
casual,
and
brief.
Soon
we
were
watching
Danny
prepare
our
order.
One
of
the
things
I
have
heard
numerous
times
-
is
the
size
of
the
portions...
So,
my
wife
and
I
decided
to
split
the
Our
Kitchen
"Kitchen
Special",
and
we
added
another
couple
of
eggs
on
the
side.
Everything
you
have
read
about
the
portions
is
true.
AMAZING!!
Easily
enough
for
two
-
or
for
one
with
some
great
leftovers
later!
The
hash
browns
were
as
amazing
as
the
articles
you
read
about.
My
wife
said
that
they
appeared
to
be
freshly
shredded!
The
pancake
was
equally
enjoyable!
My
wife
went
on
and
on
with
her
praise
about
the
pancake
-
and
I
was
in
complete
agreement!
In
the
end,
we
"tapped
out"
with
a
tiny
bit
of
hash
browns
left
over
(just
not
enough
to
take
home)
and
were
both
comfortably
satisfied
(if
not
even
a
bit
"full").
The
stop
at
Our
Kitchen
was
an
amazing
kick-of
to
our
morning
date
day!
(We
followed
up
with
a
walk
around
Lake
Harriet
to
"work
off"
some
of
our
big
(and
very
tasty)
breakfast!
If
you
are
on
the
fence
about
stopping
at
Our
Kitchen,
stop!
Get
off
the
fence
and
go
visit
this
amazing
little
gem!!
And
for
those
of
you
who
made
it
all
the
way
through
the
story,
and
are
still
wondering
-
I
did
leave
a
small
note
in
with
the
check
saying
hello
from
a
old
friend
from
long
ago
-
and
thanking
Danny
for
a
WONDERFUL
breakfast!!
Danny,
if
you
are
reading
this
review
-
You
have
an
amazing
little
place,
and
it's
clear
you
and
your
food
are
appreciated
by
many!
I'm
glad
to
see
how
well
things
have
worked
out
for
you!
Keep
it
up!!
Thanks
for
a
wonderful
experience!
