Kai’s sushi is a solid sushi spot located in an older shopping mall in Minnetonka area. The restaurant is easy to access through the back door, and there is plenty of parking in the back of the building. Inside, the interior is clean and simple, which gives the space a nice and uncluttered feel. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of options to choose from and the prices are quite reasonable. The service is shy and unobtrusive, which can be a plus for some diners looking for a more low-key experience. My first visit here and I loved it! I got take out and they brought it out to my car. The fish and all the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I had the voodoo roll and it blew me away with how incredible it was! Definitely will be coming back.

Lunch specials are AWESOME! $17 total for soup or salad and 3 rolls! I really enjoyed the salad. My friend said the Miso soup was fine, a tad salty. The sushi was great for the price. I will likely be back frequently for the lunch!

I will come back. The restaurant is small but packs an experience. The decor was top to bottom. Definitely allows you to escape the city vibe. Food was so amazing! I enjoyed watching them cook and prepare the food. The service was amazing.

This was such a surprise find! Grabbed some takeout one night . . . and now we are regulars. Each dish I've experienced has been top-notch on taste and presentation!

We had the garlic edamame - highly recommend that for a starter. We ordered three specialty rolls (under the sea, sex on the beach, zesty salmon) and LOVED them all. They seemed to have more unique specialty rolls than other sushi restaurants. The service was impeccable. I will recommend this to every sushi loving friend that I have!

This place is awesome. Best service, excellent food, wonderful staff, and extremely clean and pleasant environment that is both relaxing and warm. The lunch menu is quite expansive and the lunch portions are essentially a dinner portion. The wait times are zero, and the time it takes from ordering to eating is very fast. I am a vegetarian and the menu has quite a few options to accommodate this. The menu also has options for those who are gluten free and, who have other needs. I’ve been here multiple times on various days both busy and slow and the experience is always the same- wonderful. I highly recommend. There is no other sushi or hibachi or other Japanese food that I’ll eat in this area. Prices are also unbeatable. The food is just great.

Me and my Dad eat here about once a week. Their selection of fish is ALWAYS FRESH and very REASONABLY priced. I was so tired of paying $14 for 2 rolls at other sushi places. The owners are seriously so nice and friendly. Always walking around and checking in on guests. Service is always great. It’s a go to place for authentic sushi.

The service! First off- everyone working played a part in our time there. So attentive and kind. The sushi- sex on the beach, zesty salmon & under the sea.. INCREDIBLE. We also ordered the garlic edamame to start & finished it! Can’t wait to go back! Worth the trip and price! Well done 👍

We celebrated my birthday yesterday at Kai’s Sushi & Grill in Minnetonka. We had very pleased experience with everything. Food was amazing, I haven’t had such a fresh fish for a while. Rolls and sushi were great. You need to try their oysters-its very delicious. We couldn’t have enough of it. Kids love noodles and chicken. We took some home and they want more again. Customer service was great, our server Wendy cared about us, she was very fun and entertaining. We love this place and definitelly will come back again soon.
