Great park for a walk or bike ride on paved and smooth gravel trail around the perimeter. Or wonderful walk through marshland on dirt trails. Two little wood bridges over the creek in the marsh. Great off leash dog park down the center of the park. Friendly dogs and owners.

Great place to bring your well behaved dogs. While off leash dogs are allowed in certain areas of the park (be sure to check guidelines if you plan on letting your dog off leash), the park is not a fenced in. If you are looking to do walking or running, there is a well maintained outer loop trail. Trails along the creek can be muddy, but most of the other inner paths are easy to navigate.

I had no idea I lived so close to this beautiful place! It’s huge! And so many different trails. It’s a great place for an afternoon walk with the family, or picnic, or photo session (I’m definitely coming back with my professional camera one day). Come and enjoy this beautiful park!

Incredibly beautiful park! Found a spot to hang my hammock surrounded by catmint and bunnies. Lots of great hiking and biking trails. Quite quiet too. They have a educational habitat restoration space that is great to see!

Purgatory Park is fun place to visit. If you like jogging or bicycling or walking the dogs, or just walking, it is the place for you. Pretty large area to explore. Lots of vegetation, all kinds of trees and plants. Number of trails besides main trail. Great area to walk your dog. Just be aware sometimes there are too many dogs on a given day.

Peaceful park with beautiful natural wildlife and views. Trails were really well maintained, and views from the top of the hill were gorgeous.

Gorgeous park with lots of great paths both the maintained ones and the ones through the brush. Obviously the park is not enclosed so don't take your dog off leash unless you have great recall and voice control of them. My only other "complaint" is that dogs are only allowed off leash in unmaintained areas of the park and that is a really vague description so it's hard to know sometimes if you are in the correct place for it or not.

Purgatory park is a great place to go for a hike! I love introducing my family to this spot because it always aids to a smooth family get together. Purgatory is also great if you have an active pet! There are miles of non-leash trails that you can walk on and plenty of spots for your pets to take a swim! Highly recommend for families with pets!

This is a hidden gem. I can walk this park for miles and hours. There are so many little offshoots. No way to get lost unless it's dark Dogs are leash less just so you know. The doctor running around everywhere It crosses over a couple creeks too

Nice off-lease dog park where it's not fenced off. There's walking trails around the perimeter of the park where your dog has to be leashed but on all the trails in the interior you can have your dog off leash. Mostly wooded but about 30% open area. Really nice park for a dog walk

Would be lovely if they added a playground, but it's a great walking trail and dog-friendly!

This place melts the city away and let's you enjoy the peaceful sounds and smells of the outdoors. Great place to take you four legged friend on a leash for a walk. There is the ability to grill out and also has a covered picnic area for your family to enjoy.

It is a pretty little nature park. I only went around the one loop of the trail. It was mostly prairie around a pond with some small wooded parts. The trail is mostly flat with a couple up/downs here and there, and you occasionally find yourself out back from a few homes. I happened on a deer during my jog. I didn't make use of the facilities, but it appeared to have a small building with restrooms, water fountain, and even a large dog water bowl when I passed by.

Absolutely beautiful. Lots of different paths to take, dog friendly, many benches along the trails to stop and admire the scenery, and plenty of wildlife.

Aptly named. Trails are unmarked. The maps they do have do not have any way finding— meaning they have no “you are here” marker, rendering them useless. We walked in circles. Passed multiple unleashed dogs. Owners saw I had a dog but made no effort to leash theirs until I asked them to. Will not return to this park.
