One
of
my
favorite
temple
names.
It
is
counted
as
one
of
the
four
Kichijoji
temples,
along
with
Renjo-ji,
Kosen-ji,
and
Anyo-ji.
This
temple
was
originally
called
Toganji
and
was
founded
in
1659
(Manji
2)
with
the
opening
of
Kichijoji
Village.
This
temple's
name
and
temple
name
are
based
on
the
Buddhist
name
of
Tenkyo-in
Getsou
Myosei
Dai-nee,
and
it
was
passed
away
in
1645
(Shoho
2).
In
other
words,
it
is
a
temple
that
may
have
existed
before
Kichijoji
Village
was
founded.
The
goshuin
was
carefully
handled
by
the
chief
priest
himself
at
the
temple
office
next
to
the
main
hall.
While
I
was
getting
the
stamps
written,
I
was
able
to
talk
to
someone
else
who
was
touring
the
stamps,
and
it
was
very
helpful
to
be
able
to
exchange
information
and
talk
about
the
stamps.
