It's a wide open beach and the water is great, but you have to be vigilant about your safety. It's a bit rough from the parking to the waves, and you can see the evidence of a lack of maintenance as the ocean seems to be claiming back its land. It can become crowded and there were many police on patrol on the beach, but overall, it doesn't fill you with confidence. Amazingly friendly lifeguards are the stars of this beach and it would be great if they could get more support

I went to fish here with an "old salt" beach was very clean although further towards the embankment you could see the litter accumulating. Very good spot to fish for Kob, especially toward " Animal Draai" and Van Zyl's. However a word of CAUTION do not venture here alone, area is know for armed robberies of fisherman as well as beach goers.Closer to tge public parking SAPS are always present even though they only remain seated in the patrol vehicles. Lifeguards are present from 08.00hrs and swimming is allowed between flags. Always plenty of folks around over weekends or when the weather is good. If you are visiting this area and you arrive and the parking space is deserted excersice CAUTION as even in the parking area you can be attacked.

Good and clean space. Friendly and helpful staff. Lifeguards present. Only negative is that the slides were out of order.

The Best Fishing Place For Me

Nice to be on the beach after the holidays. And there was police and beach constables patrolling the beach thumbs up for Law Enforcement Officers

Good beach for day time but careful in night not safe for alone. Lots of bystanders.
