Amazing food and cozy atmosphere in an old Japanese style building. One of our highlights in Nikko.

We followed the recommendations here and must say it was even better than expected. Excellent service and the tochigi beef might be seriously better than kobe beef! We had tochigi sirloin and a seasonal hamburger w sakura jelly - fantastic! They have a wonderful sauce as well which goes perfectly with the beef! Bravo! We will be returning customers!

We were just trying to escape the rain, but ended up having some amazing steak bowls here. The building is also surrounded by a nice garden.

A testament to the restaurant industry. The food was excellent and priced well, the ambiance and architectural design are on point, and I had better service here than almost every hotel I've ever been to. A top-class experience from the moment you walk onto the premises. Tourist must try. Truly a hidden gem.

Went there for dinner after Toshogu. We ordered grilled hamburger, beef stew, Nasu ham and dessert. The beef dishes are beautifully executed. The Nasu ham was the first Japanese ham I have tried. It’s sweeter and softer than European ham. We ordered a water jelly and a berry sherbet. Both are pretty standard. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

One of the best Tenderloin steaks I had in my life. We ordered 2 Tenderloin steaks 200gr, medium and medium well done. They grilled them to perfection. Shiitake mushrooms were also delicious together with giant grilled shrimps. We loved every bit of experience and the food served in the restaurant. Thank you!

One of the Best steak restaurant in my opinion, western and Japanese style fusion to be great test both expensive one And basic sirloin ( quite fatty , in a good way) . Nostalgie atmosphere. Can cross the street down the ladder to the famous red Bridge.

Had the most amazing dining experience here! Most places in Japan have been really difficult to book from overseas but this restaurant allowed us to make a reservation by calling. They also happily seated us even though we had arrived one hour early. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful, and did their best to translate things to English for us. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth amazing as well. We had the Tochigi beef Sirloin and Tenderloin steak and both were so so good! I would 100% recommend everyone to give them a visit.

Yum! Actual yum. What a find! We loved it. Mix grill and a grilled chicken breast. Smal portions, great service. Lovely location right next to Shinkyo Bridge.

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant. The restaurant itself is really pretty, great ambience, the staff is very friendly and the food is fantastic. The menu setting is well worth the price and the meat is one of the best we’ve had.

Perfect place to get quality beef tucked away in a scenic area of Nikka. We had the tenderloin beef cutlet and the ribeye minute steak, both of which were melt in your mouth and packed with beefiness. Highly recommend for a relaxing and lovely lunch.

Amazing steak dinner! It wasn't necessary to make a reservation when we went, but it's always better to play it safe. The restaurant is small (used to be a temple), so it can fill up rather quickly. The food is top-quality, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is serene, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely coming back next time we visit Nikko!

I ate there while on a one day trip to Nikko, and it was the final point to a perfect day, not only the food was delicious, but also the service was excellent. The place is a old traditional japanese house beautifully iluminated and decorated, with a nice garden to the side, which you can observe while having lunch, a really pleasant experience. The food was delicious, the quality of the meat and fish was excellent and the most important part, was treated respectfully and with sense of taste, key steps to elaborate a delightful dish. The service was far beyond from excellent, the metre took us to our table, attended us kindly and explained us some things we asked about the house, he even left us take some pictures and guided us to a nice view of the garden. There's not too much left to say, I'd totally repeat the experience.

This place was delicious! The service was amazing. My friend and I hadn't made a reservation and when we asked in-person, the helpful staff allowed us to come back ~closing time for a table! It was an awesome experience and would recommend to anyone. Thank you for the great service!

We had an amazing dinner in this lovely restaurant! We rented a car for our time in Nikko so we appreciated the free parking of the restaurant. The place is designed like a traditional Japanese house and had nice mood lighting and music. We both enjoyed a 300 gr. sirloin steak which was of hight quality beef and perfectly cooked to medium rare. The service was hands down the best service we received in a restaurant in Japan. All the staff were extremely friendly and made sure we were having a great time. Lastly, the price was very fair. We’ll be back for sure!

Yes ...Is no 1 in nikko...after test 2 of other.. the worker is is international base .. can speaking English and come to Singapore and johor before

A nice quiet place to try Tochigi wagyu beef. It is a bit of a walk from Shinkyo bus stop. A friend and I ordered the A5 Tochigi wagyu steak, and while it tasted amazing, it was too rich and fatty to be eaten as a steak main course. Skip the highest grade and settle for something of a lower grade if you enjoy meaty steaks that still pack a punch from the lovely marbled beef.

If you're visiting, this place is amazing. Great food, great service. It is a must have when in the area.

Lovely service, ambience and steak (we got the mixed grill and three sides of soup, salad and yuba). However knocked a star off as we got ham in the beginning, we wondered if it's a complementary appetizer, later realised we were charged 1200 for it! We never mentioned ham in the order, did enquired about the grilled fish and were told it's sold out.
