We had the fried chicken, Japanese style cold tofu, miso soup, rice and tsukemono. The food was delicious- the fried chicken was cooked so perfectly that my teenage daughter ordered an additional plate. What really made this little restaurant a five star review from me was the people. You walk in and you feel like you are a part of the community. They were gracious and warm. They carefully went over my daughters allergies and made sure their meal was safe for them. Also- it was very cute to observe the friendship that exists between the customers and the restaurant staff. There were a couple of children (ages 3 and 5) dining there that had just come from school, wearing their uniforms, that had recently moved so had not been to the restaurant in awhile. They were so excited to see the staff and vice versa! So far this unprententious spot is my favorite dining experience in Japan.

The food was so very delicious. It's a small and quaint restaurant. The staff are warm and so very welcoming, that I decided to eat there a second time with my friends. Love it!!!

One of the most amazing dining experiences I've had in Japan. The food was incredible and the server (owner?) was incredibly friendly. We were the only non-locals in the restaurant and his excitement to be serving us was apparent. Couldn't recommend enough, try the bamboo and kelp fried rice if it's still in season when you show up.

A great little place tucked up the stairs (we walked past it a couple of times before we saw the entrance). There were 7 of us and they managed to fit us in at two tables. Excellent food, very reasonable prices. Staff were very accommodating and helpful even though we did not speak Japanese. Highly recommend.

Tucked away on level 4. Food was delicious and authentic Japanese dining experience. Although limited in English menu and English speaking, the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

This place really deserves its high score on google maps. It combines everything you're expecting from a teishoku restaurant: simple yet excellent food, friendly staff, at home atmosphere. It may be slightly on the pricey side, but the ingredients quality is high. You can feel that the chef is putting some heart into his work. Expect some line when going as this place can get crowded, especially in weekend. Bento are also available to take away. Will go again for sure!

We stopped here after making the trip to Ghibli Museum. It’s in many ways lovely as the tribute to Miyazaki’s work. The food is made with care, the service was awesome and the atmosphere is warm. You won’t regret making the effort to dine here.

Very nice place and seem to be well loved by locals. The staff were kind and understanding helping us queue when we didn't have a Japanese phone number (they would normally contact you if your table was next). The food was great! Particularly the meals. One of the best hambagu dishes I've had.
