This hotel is definitely a 2 star hotel. We booked it through the hopper app and it was definitely the cheap price we got it for. The parking is a nightmare. Especially when the parking lot is open to the public and they have events going on downtown. Parking: you do not have to pay for parking even though there are signs saying you do. The hotel vouches for those who have rooms there. The weekend seems to be the worst time to find parking in the evenings. Rooms: our room that we had was livable. It had a musty humid smell and the comforter was definitely used and washed multiple times. Stains on the blanket. The floors had the weirdest feeling barefoot that I ended up wearing shoes anytime I was walking in the room. Bathroom: the toilet is low to the ground, the tub had a stain on the bottom of it, the drain didn't drain fast enough when taking a shower and the tub was filling up. The only nice thing in the room was the counter in the bathroom. The lamp by the bed is plugged into an outlet that was tight and secured to the wall. A couple light switches in the room don't turn anything on. Service: the front desk workers were probably the best part. They were friendly and helpful when we couldn't find parking. They were pleasant to converse with during our stay. Food: there was free breakfast as part of the stay but we didn't partake in it. Overall, even with the friendly customer service, I would not stay here ever again. I was trying to save money and was fooled by the pictures that were listed under the website but it has been the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I definitely would recommend dropping an extra $50-$100 a night for something better, cleaner and safer in Mobile, Alabama.

I stayed here for a work conference for 4 days and I feel compelled to give my feedback in hopes it sheds some clarification of what it’s like to stay here. I’m a 37 year old W/F and these are my thoughts. When I originally booked, I thoroughly read the reviews, and when I arrived, the hotel was exactly what I expected it to be. Great location close to historic downtown. I walked to my conference in the morning and home in the evening. It was lovely. I felt safe walking to the nearby restaurants and walked back to the hotel each evening. According to the reviews, the hotel is currently under renovation. When I arrived, I found that to be only partially true. They are always working to improve the property, but I wouldn’t say that the property is technically “under renovation “ There were some repairs going on above, but they were done during daytime hours, and we’re not overly disruptive. I found the room to be quite large and decently clean. It had a microwave and a fridge. The shower worked as it should. The TV Worked well, and the remote changed the channels as expected. I travel a lot and it is uncommon that there isn’t an issue with the TV. The breakfast was minimal grab and go but it existed. They had namebrand items that you could grab and take with you along with fruit and a waffle station. Was it fancy? No… Could the hotel use updating? Absolutely. Did I have a few hiccups in my stay that were immediately corrected by the staff? Yes. Was it worth saving an extra 30 to 40 bucks a night as compared to other nearby hotels? Definitely. If you are on a budget and you have mediocre expectations, this place is a great choice. I personally feel that gentrification always has a cost associated with it, and if I could choose to stay in an ungentrified location, and save a few bucks, I’m in no position to complain, because that fresh paintjob on the outside of the building and gracious breakfast spread comes at a cost that is passed on to the traveler. My biggest complaint about the hotel was there was quite a few times my key card didn’t work and I had to make the trek to the office But the staff immediately was able to provide me a new card, even if they were multitasking to make sure I got into my room as soon as possible. My only other complaint was that the air conditioner was mounted very high up onto the wall where I had to use a chair in order to make a changes to the temperature. I’m not a short person. My biggest COMPLIMENT is the staff is just the greatest sweetest group of people. You can tell that they truly care and want to help. Also, the parking was included which is cool.

This place is a Dump! I was so disappointed when we walked into our room. The pictures on the internet do no justice to what the rooms really look like when you arrive. Let me start by saying that immediately when the door was opened to the room, it had a foul odor of mold and mildew. The restrooms smelled as if someone had just taken a dump in it. My wife and I couldn't stand the smell, so we went to the dollar store and brought some scented candles. The room furniture needs serious updating; the furniture in the room was outdated, and literally looking as if it was about to fall apart. The room has one small lamp that gave off barely enough light for me to read. There weren't outlets available to charge our cell phones, and we had to charge them in the bathroom. I'm not sure why they would have vinyl floors in a hotel room, and the floors were sweating and dirty. I stayed in the Admiral on a previous visit, and I thought by saving 90 bucks that I would try this hotel around the corner from it. Never again!!! I should have paid the extra $90 for a descent room. The one positive thing I can say about the entire experience is that all the staff members that I encountered were very friendly. The owner of this building needs to seriously consider updating it!

Although it's dated and could use some upgrades it was nice. The clerk was very energetic and made the check-in smooth. The room was clean. Sheets fresh and white and so were the towels. Really have no complaints.

We checked in and the front desk lady was very nice. Our room was covered in disgusting dirt and hair. The beds had pubes on them. It was clear housekeeping had not done anything in this room. We were moved to another room that also had hairs, thankfully longer, on both beds. By this time, it was 330 and we’d been driving for 14 hours, so we decided to sleep on top of the sheets. Housekeeping does nothing at this hotel. One of the towels had a huge stain. Absolutely revolting. To make matters worse, there are trains, trash trucks, and then for some reason housekeeping making noise. I have no idea why they’re slamming doors or even going in rooms, do they just watch tv and milk the clock? I’ve been in cleaner bandos. Cherry on the top of this filth sundae was that after asking to check out at noon, housekeeping tried to enter our room at 1115 so violently they almost broke the door catch. What did they need to come in for? Can’t they wait another 45 minutes to pretend to do their job?

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Pool needed to be netted but was clean enough to enjoy. Breakfast was good. Hotel is set in nice quiet neighborhood with many options for food or night life in walking distance! Floors could use a good steam clean. PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE ! Will definitely stay again next time I'm in Mobile !

First off, the staff really did try their best and it was felt. That is where the good part of our stay ends. The condition of the hotel is horrible. From the exterior of the building to every aspect of the room, I was completely disappointed. Starting with the elevator, it was just completely dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. There was lots of trash in the area on both floors right outside the elevator. As I walked up to the door of my room the paint was bubbled over a large area of the door. As entered the room and allowed the door to close behind me, it would not completely close without me having to apply a significant amount of force to get it to close. The room had a smell that made me feel like the room was very clean. The next item I noticed was the ceiling, which looked like there had been water damage recently and was not repaired. I initially did not notice any active water coming from that area but on my second morning noted two places where water was coming down and had collected a significant amount of water on the floor in front of one of the beds and in front of the bathroom door. The bathroom was in very poor condition as well with light fixtures, electrical sockets, and faucet that were all in very poor and unsafe condition. The bathroom sink fixture was actually not attached to the counter surface and needed to be held with one hand while turning the water on with the other. This was a very disappointing stay and of the 6 people all staying in separate rooms during our trip, each had a similar experience. Two of our group had to change rooms due to issues that could not just be dealt with for the duration. While this hotel has a great location, it's condition will result in us not returning on our next visit to Mobile.

I think the other reviews are why I felt the need to check the bedding so thoroughly. Nothing notable found! Everything was clean. The furniture looked like it had some water damage and was warped but whatever i didn’t come here for the desk. Tv and AC worked fine. Great location you can walk to the bars. Huge parking lot no issues parking. Super accommodating staff working with what has been provided for them!

Dirtiest room ever! Lady at the front desk did not look up at all while checking in. Door would not open after trying the key card so many times!! Smelled like mold walking in and had dirty old furniture that I couldn’t even think about touching. Had a desk that was barely holding it self up that if I touched it, it would break in half by how low it was already bent. Smelled like marijuana all over the parking lot. NOT kid friendly at all! Would never stay here ever again! Don’t really know how y’all are still in business, this place is the worse to ever stay in unless you’re not scared of roaches crawling around you or smelling this odor around here.

Room was not very clean. The wood floors were dusty & grimey. The bed was nice, it slept well. Bathroom was newly renovated. AC unit worked well, as it was in the upper 90s during my stay. Location was great. I walked to the convention center & restaurants during my stay, only a 10 min walk.

Motel is in beautiful historic district, so the building is historic. Inside could definitely use some upgrading... Our room seemed clean and was fine for sleep and a shower. The biggest issue we had was our a/c would not stay on! It kept completely shutting down. Had a little issue with the toilet tank not refilling. Latisa was in charge of the breakfast area and she was AMAZING! She was on top of her game and just a genuinely happy person.

I haven’t stays in many bad hotels but this one is definitely the worst. This room was so dirty, it was gross to touch anything. The door was would not open easily, you had to swipe the card like 10 times, bathroom door would not close all the way because the door was falling apart. The worse is how dirty the room is. I saw there was a $35 pet fee, good I didn’t have a dog because my dog would get dirty in that room. Horrible experience.

Walking into the room, it had an overwhelming mildewy smell. Mold in the bathroom. Everything was damp from the humidity. The room looked terrible. The counter in the bathroom was broken, the AC unit was rigged into place, the TV was from the early 2000's, the bed was stiff. This is a crack hotel at best. 2 stars is DEFINITELY an overstatement. It's sad because if the owners weren't tight wads, this could be an ideal place to stay given it's proximity to Dauphin st and the museums.

Cheap pricing for sure. The check in lady was very nice, and the rooms had a mini fridge and microwave. They had continental breakfast as well. While the sausage was questionable, the waffles were amazing. However, the cleanliness was suffering greatly. The floors are pretty filthy and sticky and the bathrooms have grime on the doors and surfaces. The AC unit didn't cool off and it was on 80 degrees when we entered, so it was pretty hot. I'm allergic to dust and woke up itchy from being in there. The room served its purpose, we just needed to stay one night. So it was fine, but it was dirty.

Booked the hotel through their website & didn’t have any problems checking in. Our flight to Mobile was early & they were able to let us check into our room early as well. Was worried about our stay due to the reviews & experiences with other hotels/motels in Mobile but the customer service was immaculate and the room was clean. We only needed it because we were cruising the next day. Breakfast was really good as well. Overall it’s not a bad place to stay & it’s affordable. Close to food & the cruise terminal.

This was a perfectly serviceable hotel. We stayed here the night before our cruise and paid for the Park & Cruise option. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms did show their age, for sure, but who cares. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was prretty quiet. I'll take that any day over a good paint job.

Staff was friendly, location good for walking and restaurants. Outside of building is beautiful. The rooms were not good. A/C wiring was spliced and taped. Plug ins we're coming out of the wall and sink faucet handle fell off when u tried to use it. Fire alarm was present but no battery. Definitely needs some room maintenance done

The staff was absolutely exceptional. They alone make the stay completely worth it. The beds are kind of small for two people but it was clean and comfortable so not too much to complain on. I would def recommend. Free hot breakfast is also available.

We have stayed here several times over the last 6 years and are always pleased. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. We were here for a concert at Soul Kitchen, which was in easy walking distance. In fact, everything we have done in the last 2 days was entirely on foot. Some museums, local shops, and all the great local cuisine near the hotel.

They are a bit pricey but I imagine it is because of location. It's very close and within walking distance of the downtown businesses. The room we got was down a walkway between the elevator and stairs so easily accessible with a bit of privacy. The room itself was nice compared to other quality inns, had a nice window with plenty sunlight, and the AC worked fantastic. However, the bathroom door didn't have a doorknob, which is weird and surprisingly common as of late with other places I've stayed. The TV was a little small and had a picture issue that made all channels look black and white. There was also a binder with all TV channels and local businesses, which was very helpful. I checked out the breakfast they offer, but at around 8-8:30 the food was almost gone and the batter machine for the waffles was leaking everywhere. Also there was no sink to wash your hands either. Overall it was very nice and I will stay here again.

Smelled of mold, not cleaned, floors turned socks black, drain stopped up with random hair, random hair on bedding, lights wouldn’t work, keys randomly stopped working, etc. etc. They moved our rooms like others mentioned. Was it desired? No. Would have been less disappointed in my early twenties because it is Mardi Gras. Great location and atmosphere. Honestly needs better cleaning staff. Has hot hot water and cooled well. Can’t say that for a lot of nicer places! Staying again? Not unless I brought my own bleach and bedding. Might since the location is so great. 🤪 Just warning y’all!

I don't usually leave a review but I have to on this one. When we got there it was almost midnight. They were aware we would be there late. We had to wake up the front desk worker to check in. She didnt ask for my license plate number (you will see why I say this in a second). The first key she gave us didn't work, and it was to an upstairs room. So I had to go back down stairs to get a different key. I left my mom and luggage upstairs so she wouldn't have to come back down. Instead of giving me a new key, she gave me another room, downstairs. So, I went back up stairs to get my mom and our luggage. While I am doing all of this I am noticing several doors to rooms are cracked open. First thing I thought of is how that would invite criminal activity late at night with open access to rooms. I considered trying to find another place to stay but it was midnight and we had been driving for over 6 hours. I didn't bother using their shower since a big clump of hair was by the drain. The one good thing is the small breakfast area they had where you can make your own waffles. That was really good. Now, last week, I received a parking citation in the mail with a picture of my vehicle pulling into the motel parking lot and leaving the parking lot. It was for $65. I had to go online and fill out a form to appeal it. I also called the front desk and they said since my license plate was not put into their system that is why I got a ticket. She said she would take care of it. I guess she didnt because a few days later I got an email for my appeal that stated I needed to send in futher proof that I had stayed at that motel. I emailed my confirmation email and today they canceled my citation. That was a lot of work just to stay at a motel for a quick overnight stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
