I got my first tattoo here yesterday, and it was such a great experience! Anna was my artist, and she was so sweet!! She took time to explain the process to me and made sure that I was comfortable, and she thoroughly answered all of the questions I had. Not to mention she did an amazing job on my tat!! I will definitely be going back here for my next one.

My best friend & I came in for a very special tattoo. We just buried one of our best friends. We knew what design we wanted, but we weren’t sure about placement, etc. Anna was such a great help! She was very sweet & understanding of our situation. She took such great care of us & we couldn’t be happier with the end result! We will be back to see her. Also, the entire staff was nice & professional. Junior also helped us out & made us smile. A little kindness goes a long way! Two thumbs up for Old Familiar. We will be back!!

Highy recommend Will, Nick, and the whole shop! Super clean, super professional, and super nice to work with. Work is absolutely beautiful. Our group got everything from lines to grayscale to color and its all perfect! Would definitely send anyone here without hesitation.

Been here several times for all of my tattoos and a piercing. I get most of my tattoos done by Will and he does great work with a steady hand. Both piercers and artists in this shop do great work, very clean and thorough. Great atmosphere at this place and amongst workers, you’ll have no regrets stopping here.

Anna is the best! I had a great experience getting my first tattoo at Old Familiar. From walking in and looking at portfolios to the design and the tattooing, everyone made me feel comfortable and well-informed the entire time. I won't hesitate to go back to Anna for future projects.

If you are looking for a new artist, look no further. Ana at old Familiar is incredible. Everything about this tattoo is amazing, the design, the lines, the little details, the color scheme! I only have 5 tattoos total, but the latest has surpassed all the others. With my old artist leaving the area, I have found a new home at Old Familiar.

I brought my daughter there to get her ears pierced. Mary was amazing!! My daughter is 14 and we have tried to get her ears pierced three other times before but never at a tattoo shop. Mary did such a great job of explaining why it didn’t take before and the process For cleaning even going as far as telling us she would come in on her day off if there were any problems and she needed to look at the piercing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

My all time favorite tattoo shop ever. I’ve been tatted by both CW and Anna! the work is absolutely stellar and these guys are personable. They make sure you get what you want, but the best tats come with allowing a little freedom to the artist! I’m obsessed! If you get tatted here you won’t want to travel elsewhere for your ink! <3 <3

I had a tattoo put on today, and it turned out great. Everyone was friendly, and I was a walk in, but they took me right in. In and out in about an hour. I highly recommend!! Thanks guys I love the new ink! It’s still covered up, I will add pictures as soon as it heals.

When searching for a tattoo shop we got a recommendation from a good friend for Old Familiar. Mistakenly showing up at 12:40 when the shop opens at 1:00 Nick and Will welcomed us readily. Nick created a beautiful dragonfly tattoo for my dear friend, Cindy. Will tattooed the sweetest heart for me. These two great artists made our experience. Perfect. HERE. GO HERE! AMAZING!! I can’t say enough good things. We travel to different states and get a souvenir tattoo when we go.. This was literally the best experience we’ve had. We were walk ins and luckily were able to get in. Anna did my tattoo and she did not disappoint! I was a little nervous about pain level of placement but she talked me through it and was so fast! She designed it to fit with my existing tattoos. I WISH we lived closer we’d make this our regular shop! Thank you Anna and CW! It was a perfect experience.

If i could rate it higher I would. Walked in and got a warm and welcoming greeting from Anna. The shop was super clean and the whole team was super nice. Had a great time getting tattooed and the piece came out amazingly. If you are looking for anything but especially American Tradition this is the place to go. I have never seen a shop so supportive to each others work. If you are in or near Mobile take the trip over and get a tattoo i will 100% be coming back.

Walked in on a whim and left so content! Anna was simply the best - immediate service, gave me time to look at what I wanted, and set me up in her chair shortly after. Even made a flash tat fine-lined to match my others with the best attitude. The whole shop is great!

I’ve only ever been tattooed by one person, so I was a bit nervous going to a different shop. All my nerves dissolved away when I walked in. I was greeted by *smiling* helpful employees & amazing decor. The general vibe is very warm & welcoming. I chose an amazing original flash design from William. He is super talented & puts you at ease immediately. You are in good hands at Old Familiar. Nick got me and my friend in for matching tattoos super quickly, did a Friday 13th for me as well. He did a great job, the shop was super clean and everyone was really friendly. Will definitely be going back to see Nick!

I got two tattoos here by Anna and it was an awesome experience! I was nervous and wasn’t totally sure of what I wanted but she was so patient and worked with me to help create something I loved. She never forced her opinion and was SO comforting and supportive. I absolutely love both tattoos I got and definitely recommend this shop and specifically Anna!

I came in today with other people looking to get pierced, and decided to get a random tattoo from their draw box. The service was amazing, the tattoo turned out well, and the artists all seemed very professional and friendly. My artist was Anna and she had some amazing ideas to make my tattoo really pop. Highly recommend and will be back.

I got a tattoo a few days ago from Anna and I had a great experience. All of the staff is super friendly and it’s a welcoming environment. I came as a walk in and Anna was able to give me everything I wanted and more. She listened, was informative, accommodating, and gave me a tattoo that I love. Highly recommend!

If you want a clean environment, friendly service, a all around good tattoos this is the only place in Mobile that you need to visit. They do it all and they do it all well. Knowledgeable and talented I won’t go anywhere else in south Alabama for a tattoo. I’ve been visiting this shop and CW specifically for over 2 years now (full sleeve and working on my leg now) and he does fantastic tattoos. Thankful for these guys (and ladies) who’ve set up shop in Mobile. Truly a treasure to the community and the local art community as well. And if you need a piercing you won’t find anyone better than Tori and Mary or a better selection of jewelry in Mobile. They’re really a treasure and a joy to work with.

Tori was absolutely excellent with our piercings. We fell in love with her sweetness, appreciation for detail, her patience, and just her all around piercing expertise! And to top that, she has the most incredible selection of fine jewelry and top of the line equipment. She came highly recommended from a friend and did not disappoint!!! Took my 6 year old in for ear piercing with Tori & Mary. They were absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Tori took up so much time explaining everything to my daughter and answering all of her questions. She made sure my daughter was comfortable and let me be involved as well. My daughter had zero pain during piercing or afterwards. Tori made sure we had her number when we left in case we had any questions or problems. Days later my daughter accidentally pulled out her earring, Tori willingly stayed after hours to meet us and replace her earring. She is absolutely precious & so caring. The shop was so clean and everyone was so professional. I highly recommend them & I’m so glad we took my daughter, it was such a good experience!

I can’t recommend this place enough. I got my first ever nose piercing done, and it was a wonderful experience. Tori was so sweet, kind, and approachable, and she went to great lengths to make sure that I was comfortable and understood what she was going to do. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, and all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I can’t speak to the quality of other piercing shops around Mobile, but I know for sure I will be going here for all of my future piercing or tattoo needs. I have to mention Tori one more time, I really can’t stress how amazing she was. As someone who has never gotten a piercing before, I was somewhat worried about how they would treat a first timer, but Tori made me feel like an experienced veteran of piercings. Get your piercings done here!

I never leave reviews but Mary was so great I have to. Super quick, clean, and comfortable. Talked to me through the whole thing and by far the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Getting my septum redone by her after years of having it out was even better than the first time I got it pierced, even with the scar tissue from the first piercing. Also, the counter guy Larry was extremely nice. Thank you guys so much.
