Weather was nice (always a bonus), beach was clean and the sea was really clear. Toilets next to the beach were also clean and free to use. Free parking along the sea front. Lots of places to eat, drink & get an ice cream. Good area for crabbing with several shops selling crab lines, buckets etc. Good kids park close by and a short walk to St Trillo's Chapel which is worth a visit. One of our favourite places.

A decent little beach next to a few shops, quiet and clean. There is also a great spot for crabbing on the pier.

A really lovely, very scenic expanse of North Wales beach at Rhos-on-Sea, which is very easy to miss as you travel along the very close by / easy to access A55 North Wales Expressway. If you are passing by or heading there directly, do try and visit Rhos-on-Sea Beach etc as it is such a very relaxing, calming and peaceful place. :)

We love going to Rhos on Sea for a day out but will probably make a good base for a stay. We'd love to retire here! We'd never be bored and if you need a little more to do, there's Llandudno further up and Snowdonia just a little further. A lovely place to visit. Beautifully quaint beach which could be confused for a fishing beach in the Caribbean! There's a busy(ish) but safe road separating the seafront from the shops and plenty of free parking! A lovely kids play park and plenty of places to escape from the wind!

Nice enough little town along the North Wales coast. Beach is well kept and a decent selection of shops to visit. Pretty limited to a small area though so would only stay an hour or so.

Lovely soft shingle beach with nice protected beach inlet which is protected by harbour walls. The picturesque views of leisure boats across a mountain background is lovely. Sit there soak up the views and allow little ones to enjoy the sand and sun. Once finished have a walk down the promenade all you can ask for.

Beautiful beach, clean and plenty of beach combing to do with the kids. We loved the chapel on the side of the beach, kids thought that was amazing, so well looked after. There was some work being done when we popped by, adding seating areas and pedestrian areas which looked very modern and refreshing. We spent all day here and the kids loved beach time, shell sourcing, digging holes and time in the sea. Was a lovely beach and very clean!

Great little beach. Was clean and not too busy. Locals were polite which is always a bonus. Kids crab fishing on the little pier, adults relaxing on deck chairs, families paddling in the sea. Just be careful of the jellyfish of which there are many.

Rhos on sea beach is a great beach, it is always nice and clean no matter how busy it is. There's plenty of parking, some free and some pay and display.

Loved this beach. Most of it is "dog free" until end of September but locals explained there is a portion allocated (well away from the the cafe's etc) but worth the walk along the lovely prom as Rolo enjoyed the fine sand as much as we did.

Beautiful beach with lots of space to walk. Great spot for collecting shells or walking a dog (although there are restrictions on dogs on the beach during peak season).

Great beach. Nice areas of sand; rocks and a few jetties for crabbing. Good, clean toilets right next to the beach (unlike Llandudno) and decent places to eat/buy beach things from.

Personally not a fan of this beach/promenade. Very surprised to see so much talk of beautiful scenery! It's lots of concrete and run down shops. Views out to sea of sea defences, which are concrete grey. I guess it's all perspective though. The photos people have taken drew us in because it does look good but we didn't see it with the same eyes maybe. Not my cup of tea Not much to see or do either.

Lovely beach however breakwater rocks smell like sewage and there is sewage under the sand so careful building sandcastles.

The beach itself is quite small and is quite boggy as you head down towards the sea but the area is beautiful and there are rocks to climb on and little boats in the harbour. There’s usually plenty of parking along the front towards Colwyn.

Contrary to some comments dogs are only allowed in certain areas and then only from September to May so it is worthwhile checking the signs which are there as the maximum fixed penalty is up toΒ£1,000. Apart from that it's nice and not to busy.

Lovely place, a real gem of Victorian seaside promenade heritage! Great place for families to visit and enjoy a beautiful piece of the North Wales coastline.

  • 4/5 Evan L. 3 years ago on Google
Pleasant traditional "promenade" seafront, with occasional kiosk cafΓ©s, etc. Sheltered, sandy beach, with no apparent areas of concern. Tide conditions never a problem (probably because of counter rotating eddies). Only withheld 5th Star because it can be very crowded in high season.

Great seafront parking, with a nice prom, walk to the local shops. A relaxing place to sit and unwind and Wath the world go by. Nice beach that dogs are not allowed on.

Nice family seaside place. Plenty for children. Some nice little shops, tea rooms etc . Along the promenade you can visit the smallest chapel which in normal times us still used for services. A particularly nice tearoom is Marmalade, their cakes are delicious and very reasonably priced.

If you want quiet and space, this is a good place to start. Nice sand, water crystal clear an a great view of the bay. You can walk for miles, literally. Only a short drive to Llandudno too with its bustle .
