Our Kololo stay was extremely memorable! The lodge has an amazing location, bordering Welgevonden Game Reserve. (They offer game drives in Welgevonden Nature Reaerve - they have access into the reserve via a private gate). The lodge offers great activities like walking and cycling (they have bikes available for guests to use) amongst harmless wild animals. They also have an amazing restaurant and pool overlooking the Waterberg landscapes. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly, efficient and overall just amazing! Our game drives were extremely informative and fun. I would recommend this lodge to any family/ couple looking for a very relaxing getaway.

Not our first visit to Kololo and for sure not our last. We have been visiting the last 6 years and we love it. There is so much to say, but you must experience yourself. Rooms are great, spacious and quite. Service is outstanding and with the new chef, food was very good. Only sad thing is that you can not choose anymore if booking with or without Lunch or between one or two game drives. There is only one package, which is nice for a one night stay, but e.g. on a 3 night stay you want maybe to saty in bed for a morning or skip the evening drive to take a nice stroll down to the crocodile. :-) Here some photos all taken at Kololo

I love Kololo so much. This is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. The accommodation is very clean, the food is great and the staff who take care of Kololo are wonderful and so friendly I’ve been intouch with them for years. Thank you for the amazing experience. I can’t wait to be back.

The hosts Tanya and Tom were so kind and welcoming; they went above and beyond to help, and arranged an amazing Brai under the moon at my lodge at no extra cost. I was in one of the larger lodges with a lovely main bedroom and living room. At Kololo you are so close to nature; my lodge had stunning views and when I went on safari I saw lions, rhino, elephants, zebra to name but a few. Come prepared to live close to nature, some roads have no tarmac so bring a high clearance vehicle that can handle rough terrain! This is a real chance to get away from the fast pace of life and connect with nature. I have wonderful memories of this place.

We had a great stay at Kololo game reserve. We visited Kololo with our 3 kids (4, 2 and 0 y/o) and the manager Tanya and the staff did everything to make our stay as great as possible. The accomodation was clean and big including a kitchen and living room. We did 2 game drives and Kololo arranged a babysitter for our baby so we could do the game drive as relaxed as possible with the 2 other kids. During the game drive we saw lions, zebras, rhinos, elephants and hippo’s and if you are doing a game drive with small kids they can adjust the safari (departure time / appropriate distance if you spot animals) to create the best experience for your family. Also the food and service is great. The loved the staff and the kids menu. They even have a big basket with toys in the restaurant and one of the staff even walked around with the baby so I could finish my coffee during breakfast. Also the pool and playground are fantastic. Very family friendly and a must do if you are visiting South Africa with kids!

The most welcoming and extroardinary experience. We loved our stay in Kololo with the kindest staff and most adventurous ranger Joe! Saw so many animals on the big 5 tour as well as in the hotel reserve. Being able to walk around by foot in this reserve was surreal! Couldn’t recommend a better reserve to experience the beauty of Africa!

Perfect place with incredible staff and best ranger (Jo). We went for walk game tour in the private reserve where we saw plenty (by ourselves) and with Jo in the big 5 reserve for a 3 hours walk! Unique experience. The lodge is amazing, very nature respectful, very comfortable without being pretentious. Super flexible with breakfast hours and so on. Food is also delicious with a home made taste and good products.

Super kind staff, we saw lion, hippo, zebra, impala, and many more animals. The food was great and their wifi was excellent. do note that they do not have mobile coverage on the property, so make sure you have your wifi calling activated , or just enjoy the internet detox.

We had a wonderful time here. Welgevonden is a great park and the game drive experience with Kololo's rangers was amazing, they took a lot of time to give context and to sheet questions. The lodge in itself is really authentic, makes you feel at home and has an unbeatable value for money!

During a family trip to the Kololo Game Reserve including 3 safari trips and staying in the 'Elephant' lodge I had an excellent experience. The staff was very welcoming and worked hard to deliver our (special) requests. There are plenty of reasons to book at the Kololo Game Reserve but what stood out was the unsurpassed host/guide Erik Burton who was very polite and he delivered an outstanding safari tour with a lot of enthousiasm and heart for the wild animals at this reserve.

Absolutely amazing weekend. We opted for self catering however the restaurant staff was extremely helpful with anything we needed. The game drive tour guides completed our weekend. The guys taught us a lot about the different animals and the plants in the surroundings. Beautiful place should you wish to go away to a peaceful environment and to recoup. The oven did not work so we improvised, something to check out and the Kettle had a black rust at the bottom so we couldn't boil water but not a deal breaker something to attend to for future guest. Overall it was amazingly worth it. Thank you.
