Ty
at
the
front
counter
was
very
welcoming
and
helped
me
decide
on
the
Shakshuka
which
is
two
eggs
poached
in
a
stew
of
tomatoes
and
peppers
with
a
side
of
pita.
I
decided
to
have
Sautéed
Spinach
and
Feta
added
which
was
one
of
two
varieties
of
this
dish
other
than
“classic.”
The
other
choice
was
Lamb
and
Okra.
Ty
suggested
it
as
a
hearty
and
comforting
choice
for
a
chilly
rainy
day.
I’m
glad
I
took
his
advice.
The
tomato
and
pepper
stew
was
seasoned
perfectly.
The
spinach
and
feta
and
poached
eggs
were
just
the
right
amount
of
filling
and
the
whole
dish
warmed
me
physically
and
emotionally.
The
pita
was
fresh,
plump,
and
soft
and
perfect
for
dipping
in
my
yolks
and
stew.
The
decor
is
subdued
and
pleasant
with
inoffensive
lighting,
ambient
music,
and
enough
indistinct
chatter
to
make
my
solo
dinner
not
feel
lonely
at
all.
Shuk
also
serves
Hummus,
Muhamara
(blend
of
roasted
red
peppers
and
walnuts),
and
whipped
Feta
dips,
as
well
as
a
well
considered
variety
of
brunch,
dinner,
salad,
sauce,
finger
food,
and
appetizer
selections.
A
full
coffee,
tea,
wine,
beer,
and
creative
cocktail
menu
completes
the
experience.
Oh,
and
one
more
thing.
I
ordered
Moroccan
mint
tea.
It
came
in
an
infuser
pot
with
a
tea
timer.
And
after
the
two
minutes
I
was
told
to
wait,
it
was
YUM!
