Definitely a fun place. It truly is an old house built in 1754 that they have since converted to a restaurant. So the eating areas are lots of little rooms and hallways, etc. The food was delicious. Some of the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. We used their delicious biscuits to get every bit of that sauce. The she crab soup was also really excellent. For an appetizer we tried the fried green tomatoes, served with pimento cheese. So good! Our waitress was super kind and got everything right for our table of 6. We would highly recommend this place!

Cute tourist stop. A solid 3.5 room for improvement. Greeted by a pirate before being seated. Very neat interior decor of old, rustic and comfortable. Our table was next to a window with a view of an old well that time has decorated nicely with nature. The waitress took our orders quickly food came out in a timely manner. What we didn’t appreciate our drinks not being refilled, my husband finished his beer at the start of the meal and I would have liked a water refill. We enjoyed the free biscuits and cornbread with butter. Too many for two of us. Maybe bring out less to minimize waste. Enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Our first time trying and they were pleasant. We shared the crab melt sandwich. We felt it was lacking on flavor and filling. At the end of the meal we didn’t like how the hostess stood there while we signed and filled out the tip portion.

This was our first trip here and a great experience. Our group ordered corn fritters and blackened shrimp, fried green tomatoes, shrimp gumbo, house salad and their famous honey pecan fried chicken and shared everything. Each item was fantastic including the corn muffins and biscuits with orange marmalade. Highly recommend this place. Great service and food!

Good food and friendly service. Stopped in for lunch. Fried calamari was a good appetizer. Enjoyed the complimentary biscuits - they were so good! The Ruben sandwich was tasty. The She crab soup was too rich and buttery. I liked the fried green tomatoes. Nice ambiance and good food.

I sadly did not eat here and I wish I had. I went just to visit one of the oldest buildings in Savannah with an amazing history. I went up into the gift shop which is large with lots of items to choose from, tons of shirts! The building feels old soon as you step through the door. It feels like walking into a ship, dark wood floors and dark colors. The bar downstairs was big, beautiful, and well maintained. Next trip to Savannah I am going to eat here.

I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. It was highly recommended by my brother, who takes his clients there when he is in the Savannah area. We went for brunch, and the biscuits were so soft and fluffy. Quite possibly the best biscuits I have ever had! I had a salmon salad, and the fish was perfectly cooked. This establishment also offers a buffet that is very popular. Our waiter, Teddy was wonderful and made great recommendations. The restaurant also has a gift shop upstairs with lots of great trinkets and shirts. I would definitely recommend trying this place.

If your in Savannah, definitely check this place out! The history is very cool! And the food is good! I had the fried chicken and my aunt had the pork tenderloin and both were delicious! They give you 4 pieces of chicken, so come here hungry!!

Although we had so much fun, our waiter seemed to have a bit of an attitude. My youngest daughter accidentally spilled my drink and we had to go find towels to clean it up and when I asked for another soda, he seemed annoyed. He also dropped one of the kids meals down another member of our parties back without apology. We had such high hopes because my dad grew up going to the pirates house and this was our first time going and we brought 2 of our friends families with us so we were a party of 10. We had our own little room which was nice. It was also the same night of a Girl Scout event so I’m not sure if that’s why the waiter seemed frazzled or what. Hope to go back and have a better time!

This place is so cool! Truly a historic site and makes for some quirky ambiance. The food looked and tasted great! We ordered several different dishes and everyone enjoyed it. Our waiter, Olivia, was very pleasant to interact with. Overall, I think the main selling point for this place is the location, but the food is definitely good. I would recommend this spot in you're in the Savannah area!

Love this place!!! Been coming since I was a kid. Great memories and great food. From three crab soup to the Seafood harvest platter. Even the Pecan pie is delicious. My go to place when I'm in Savannah.

This location is a great landmark and good place to eat in Savannah. This establishment has a cool atmosphere and some neat fun to it for you pirate enthusiasts. There was no wait to get in this place. The lighting was very dark, which made it very hard to read the menu. They also have a lunch time buffet. At first it wasn’t replenished well, so we chose to order from the menu. When we went back through, the Buffet looked well replenished and fresh. If I had seen the buffet the first time like I seen it the second time, I would’ve ordered it instead. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer. It was flash fried perfectly and had great texture, flavor and presentation. Unfortunately, being this close to the Atlantic Ocean I expected bulkier calamari similar to what you would get at the San Francisco Pier in California. We both had the Ultimate Low-Country Burger. It’s presentation was perfect and thick, just how one would want to see a burger. They were ordered medium, but came out a little medium-well. The beef tasted very lean like a 93/7 blend. Unfortunately, this made the burger itself very dry and gritty. This alone was the game changer from a 5 star to a 4 star rating. A burger this beautiful needs to be cooked better. I recommend to the ownership to use a 85/15 or 80/20 blend of beef instead of the current blend using. Or the Chef needs to work on the cook time a little more. I recommend giving this place a visit for lunch or dinner!

We arrived around 5 pm and we were quoted a 1.5hr wait for 9. Managed to get in within an hour. I would suggest that if you have a party over 6 you do not stray far from the restaurant if you want to ensure your party can sit together. We started with the fritters and they were good. I ordered the blackened snapper with grits and collards. The snapper was bland and the sauce was good, but left me wanting a bit more. The collards saved the plate for me. I have never had better collards. The right amount of spice, smokiness, salt, and cooked just right. The grits were delicious too, but those collards. We also had a lot of fried shrimp which were good, but nothing ground breaking. Our group did order a couple drinks. The margarita was amazing! The bloody Mary was good and the pirates paradise was tasty. They were generous with their pour too. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She never left us wanting for anything. The atmosphere is quite nice. Fairly quiet even with having a full house and for the exception of our group of kids. They have someone walking around dressed and talking like a pirate. She did a great job engaging with our group and the kids loved her! Overall a great place to experience at least once and we will possibly return on a future visit.

The six of us came in on a Wednesday around 1pm. We lucked out on their Lunch Buffet. We didn't even realize it was offered, but we definitely took advantage. It is also the only way to get their delicious fried chicken at lunchtime. There also was: fried fish, sliced pork, mashed potatoes & sweet potatoes with marshmallows, corn, black eyed peas, collard greens, gravy, mac and cheese, biscuits & cornbread, and I think I'm still forgetting something. 😆 Our server Jaz was so incredibly helpful and friendly. We definitely had fun with her. Our meal was so enjoyable, and we felt pretty cool sitting in our own private room in back. Thank you for the wonderful service and food!

Went here on a recommendation and absolutely loved it. Did not wait for a table but went around 7:30 on a Wednesday without a reservation. Zach, our server was absolutely amazing, friendly, and attentive. The food was out quickly and tasted amazing. I had the salmon and would absolutely recommend. The biscuits were great too and I heard the cod was a good choice. The atmosphere was very well put together and suited the pirate name. It was a fun place to explore but also had some pretty unique ghost stories and history to explore. I would recommend!

We decided to have lunch here. The food was very good! Three of us ordered the burger three different ways and each burger came exactly the way we asked it to be cooked. The only issue was we asked for pickles for two of the burgers on the side. However, our waitress kept forgetting to bring them, but it was not a deal breaker. Husband had the Buffett and was blown away with all the flavors! The chicken was delicious. It was extremely busy. Definitely recommend eating here. The tunnels were very cool! Very historic place. Loved!

Don't visit Savannah without stopping at this historic location. The food was delicious, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is nostalgic and adventurous! Tom, our server was incredible and had so much knowledge of the Pirate's House, history, and stories. Ask for Tom! The food was yummy! I had the Filet Mignon and a Youngling beer (we can't get it in California). My daughter had the Shrimp Gumbo and said it was fantastic. The atmosphere was historic and slightly spooky, I loved it! Can't wait to come back again in the future.

The food was amazing! I love Pirate 🏴‍☠️ stuff but the food was the best I have had in a while. I had the fried green tomatoes 🍅. It is an appetizer but big enough for a meal! So good!!! They have very fun kids menus that turn in to a hat, eye patch, a mustang and an ear ring. Crazy but true. We will go here again! And Micheal our waiter was so nice and informative about the history of the building!!

10/10 recommend!!! Best food we had for lunch during both of our stays in Savannah this year. Great food, fast service, and very friendly staff. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had honey pecan glazed chicken.

This is the first time I ate here. My wife had been here before during a convention. She just raved about the Pirate House. I now understand her excitement. Pirate House is not only a wonderful restaurant with great food and marvelous service and servers but it also is historic institution. It first opened in the 1753 as an Inn, and continues over 269 years of service. We stopped in for lunch the first day in Savannah. My wife chose the Soup(She Crab), Salad, and Sandwich(Chicken Salad Sandwich). I decided to try their Southern Lunch Buffet. The Buffet featured their Fried Chicken, Fish, Collard Greens, other Southern specialties, and dessert. The food and service, as I said before, was amazing. You may even be lucky enough to get a little historic tour. As another customer said so perfectly "The Pirate House is a Restaurant and a Museum". I agree 100%. It is so cool!

Biscuits were so light and fluffy - YUM!! The best I had all weekend. We had reservations and didn’t wait for a table. Food and service were good. Friend’s fried chicken was absolutely delicious and 1/2 chicken - breast, thigh, leg and wing. Thankful she let me taste it!

Awesome old building still standing, Awesome to know that I was dining in the same place that pirates hung out at. A must visit while in Savannah. Our waitress was super nice, the food was great. Biscuits, cornbread melt in your mouth. Seafood and fried green tomatoes were delicious.

Very piratey! The Pirate's House has a wonderful low-country, Southern buffet on weekdays. My son loved it. My husband tried out some of the seafood choices. There is bar service during the lunch hour, try some of their local beers. The service was adequate. I love the historic atmosphere, but I did not see a ghost.

I went for the Southern Comfort food lunch buffet. Rolled out beyond stuffed. Great mocktail offerings. Good place to bring the family and just all around unique historic location. The she crab soup is a must have. Not too strong of a sherry flavor and not too thin of broth. A great cup she crab soup that I've had in awhile.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on a Tuesday. We were seated immediately and had a wonderful meal. The place oozes historic vibes and the staff is polite and attentive. A must see if you visit Savannah.

This is a great place to go for southern food. The daily buffet has a great sample of food to choose from. Reservations aren't required but recommended. They have a great ambiance and fun gift shop upstairs.

This place was overall fantastic! You got to check it out and eat here. It has a very unique and interesting history. The food from the buffet was really fresh and delicious. I had the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and greens. All of it was very good and the peach cobbler was a perfect desert. The waitress took great care of us and even the bartender checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. This place could get 5+ starts.

  • 4/5 Marie C. 11 months ago on Google
Atmosphere and service were excellent. Food for me was good but I kept the sauce for the chicken on the side because I knew the dish would be heavy. Everything we all tried was tasty but it was a lot of food so definitely asked for to go boxes.

  • 5/5 Susan H. 2 years ago on Google
Lunch buffet had lots of good southern dishes. Great service. We made reservations and we were seated in one of the side rooms with much less people.

Went for dinner. We got there at 3:30 and menu said lunch ends at 3:30. The lady up front that seated us, gave lunch menus. We asked for dinner menus and she very rudely said “ Dinner doesn’t start till 4pm and you’ll be reseated.” Eventually she said we could stay at the same table and wait till 4pm. Dinner was overpriced and mediocre at best. Soggy chicken , no thanks. The building was really cool and also known to be haunted. So thumbs up on the building and our waitress was very sweet.

Very cool place to go eat. The food was really good and the server was pretty attentive also. We had a lot of fried seafood but it was flavorful and I really liked the scallops. We sat right next to the entrance to the tunnel. Lots of history here at the Pirate house in Savannah.

  • 5/5 Sean M. 1 year ago on Google
Checked it out based on other reviews. It did not disappoint. Definitely not the cheapest place to go but it is worth it. Had the shrimp n grits and fried shrimp platter. Both were great. Drinks were good as well. Definitely a unique place to check out!

  • 4/5 David S. 1 year ago on Google
Had a meal at the pirate's house restaurant. The wait staff was pleasant and polite. The interior was pretty dark and dated but not a big annoyance. I got the fried shrimp. It was lightly battered and pretty good. My spouse got the calamari. It was crunchy but there was oil in the bottom of the plate which made some of them soggy. Taste was good overall. I probably wouldn't come back.

  • 4/5 Sara D. 1 year ago on Google
The scene was definitely nice. Make reservations in advance until you want to wait over an hour. We only saw one pirate pass by- they didn’t stop the entire time we were eating (about 2 hours) the menu looked very delicious but the flavor was all very bland. Nothing really was like WOW worth the $$ - the kids Alfredo was awful. I understand they are children and may not care much but YUCK!

  • 5/5 Sarah C. 1 year ago on Google
We went here for dinner and had expected to wait a bit since we knew that reservations were preferred. When we walked over and let the hostess know we would like a table for 2, she said that 2 tables in the bar had opened and we could have one of those. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet. Our server was Zack and he was great. He shared his recommendations with us (Fried Chicken or Salmon), which we would like to get if we go back. We decided to get the Shrimp Gumbo and Low Country Santa Fe Pasta. We also split a cup of she crab soup, which was good but not much different than Cream of Crab. All of our food came out quick and was delicious. There was a lot of shrimp in the gumbo and the flavors were excellent. I have enough for lunch the next day. My husband enjoyed the pasta, especially the alligator sausage. Definitely recommend if you are in Savannah
