We stayed in a double room after arriving. The house itself is beautiful, but the rooms themselves are not cleaned/ functional. Our bathroom was so stinky it was almost unusable, and the bedroom hadn't been cleaned after the last visitors. The sheets were soiled, nothing was swept, and the state of the bathroom was utterly disgusting. After seeing this, we didn't eat dinner in the restaurant- if this was their standards. I think the worst part was the washroom, the sink didn't work, the tub didn't drain and the toilet didn't flush. There was blood on the trim, and feces and toilet paper stuck on the floor and plunger. There was broken glass on the floors outside upstairs that seemed unsafe if someone brought their kids here. Overall, I found the price absurd for what you get.. you will likely be disappointed here due to the lack of upkeep and cleaning. I've stayed in cheap cheap motels with higher standards.

First time customer here and first time seeing the inside after having lived in Sackville for 20 years. The best choice I made staying here as I fly from Toronto to Sackville every couple months. The staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful. So much to see in the rooms and around the home. A must see even for a quick visit.

Had a wonderful stay at the Marshlands Inn Sep 9-13, .2022. Hotel has great ambience and situated at the centre of historic Sackville with its wonderful architecture, waterfowl park, open market and eateries. Owner Barry and son Jason couldn’t have been more accommodating. The atmosphere of the rooms and main hotel dining and sitting rooms are outstanding. Topping it all off was the food excellently served and which is a 10/10.

This was for my wedding! The food was delicious, especially the steak. Everyone who got the salmon said it was very good too. the bed in the queen suite was very comfy. The garden was perfect for my wedding ceremony. The staff are very nice. Had a wonderful time and there was no site fee (I just needed to have enough overnight guests to fill the inn which I did easily).

Beautiful historic home. There are surprisingly a lot of rooms in this Inn. The building and its surrounding land are steeped with Canadian history. There are era pieces everywhere in the home; something interesting to look at in every corner. The room was large and comfortable enough. There was no TV in this particular room, but that was ok! Located a short walk away from downtown Sackville and Mount Allison University.

The location is wonderful. I certainly did not feel very welcome upon my arrival. I was given a room in the old carriage house behind the main house in room #1. I think if they left the decor with the old style it would be fine, but it seemed like they were using the room to store things they didn't want to toss out. The room was not completely clean and it smelled horribly of mold/mildew. I kept the windows open all night and still had to use my inhaler and left the room at 4am to get fresh air outside. I am thankful I only stayed one night. I was not able to check out and had to hand off the key to a cleaning staff as the door to the house was still locked after 8am when I departed. I love antique, but everything felt dirty which was in part due to the air. I hope not all the rooms are as bad or if they air them out more and clean up the room it might be better. I moved to the Coastal Inn near the highway and they said I was not the first person to switch to their hotel after a bad night at the Marshlands Inn.

I had a difficult time booking a room with beds other than singles on a multi reservation website like this one. So I booked directly on their own website 3 weeks prior and reserved a room with 2 dbl beds. When I arrived later in the evening the proprietor told me I had booked 2 single beds, and that the two rooms with dbl beds were already taken. I insisted that I had reserved the dbl beds as I am 6’4” tall and don’t fit in a single bed. A would never book a room with single beds. Again he said I booked the singles. Needing a room we took it. That was a mistake as the mattresses were both quite old and had a nasty slope to them from years of previous guests sitting on the one accessible side. To add misery to the situation the Loud window mounted A/C that was a couple feed from my head in bed, though worked had a difficult time keeping the room cool because the other wooden framed window was stuck in the jam half open. Certainly the place had charm but the rooms were very small and crowded. The beautiful gardens depicted on the website were overgrown and un kept. To add insult to the situation when I checked out and reiterated my frustration at now paying the same price I booked the 2 dbl bed room for and only received 2 singles. The proprietor admitted that there was a problem with the hotel booking sites not working well and that they booked everyone into dbl bed rooms. I suggest if you like the old charm you go for dinner (maybe it’s ok never tried it) and appreciate the museum like atmosphere. And save the greif on your back.

52 years ago I went to this inn for my first fancy dinner out to celebrate my 16th birthday. After many years away, it was a trip down memory lane to return here today. The historic decor is charming. Linen napkins and heated plates are rare in today’s restaurants. The food itself was delicious - a very hearty seafood chowder and homemade buns. All this at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant!

A/C was not put on before arrival , had to put it on ourselves . Went out for a couple of hours to let the room cool off . Came back and a fuse had blown ,so no A/C again . We were not impressed . Room was beyond hot . Unfortunately had to leave ,as too late to wait for room to cool off to go to bed . Room was beautiful . Inn was a beautiful place . An apology would of been nice, we did get a full refund .

Charming hotel built in the late 1800's. Filled with period decor. Architecture was phenomenal. There was only one staff member on site so service was very slow. Room was lovely and had a/c but the ensuite didn't have a shower.

We found this quaint little Hotel online and we are so glad we did! This historic building was built in 1850 and it is chock full of antiques, photos, paintings, strange little dolls and weird curiosities. Very strange but very fun! Sadly, breakfast was not available but it's because the hotel owner's family member recently had a surgery - we hope she recovers quickly! That's ok because Barry told us about Pattersons which was close by. You seriously need to stay here. It's got some great history and positive vibes. Is it perfect? Nope! But we never need perfect. We always embrace the different and seek adventure and make memories. This place will help with that! 😊😊

Absolutely beautiful dining room it was almost like stepping Through Time. It was a nice high-end feel of a restaurant with the table settings and the Beautiful wood in the dining room, with very reasonable prices. Great amazing food. Very accommodating to my son's requests of no vegetables in the pasta, they even added a little cucumber on top when he said that's the only veggie he really eats lol.(my sons 10.) Very relaxing no rush atmosphere. Beautiful gardens. If you are on. Time fram would recommend asking for Bill when they deliver dessert tell them you are, on a time frame. We went for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Great place to celebrate something special with out breaking the bank. It is on the higher end of med price range to lower higher price rang. Will go back again.

Quaint and Rustic New Brunswick with a ton of history. The level of service provided was better nowhere. Food is a 10/10, I had zero problems with Wi-Fi, and any problems the old building might have were more than made up for by the personable and adept staff. Would recommend and visit again.

We weren’t able to make it to Marshlands for our stay because of weather, and Barry was so lovely, understanding, and helpful. We were sad to miss our reservation and are absolutely going to stay as soon as we can!

We stayed one night. The Inn's decor needs serious rethinking. Way too many plastic plants/flowers/dolls that add nothing to the ambience other than to gather dust....which there is an abundance of at this Inn. It's too bad that the uncleanliness of the room (tons of dust, cobwebs, leaky toilet, plugged drains) is what we will remember as the Inn has the potential of being a lovely spot. It needs a thorough deep cleaning and general maintenance.
