La Rosa Tapas & Tequila Bar

Restaurant

👍 La Rosa is one of the closest Mexican tastes you can find around here. The outside terrace has an amazing decoration and a cozy feel to chill with friends. They got mocktails if you got minors and a vareiety of cocktails for adults. Food came out quick, it’s good but still not quite the authentic on... People often mention tacos, good, service, Mexican, great, dishes,

So, I've been traveling the world since 2015. I am from Southern California near the Mexico border. We have GOOD Mexican food in Southern California- close as it can get to Mexican without crossing the border. Since I left the USA I haven't found GOOD Mexican- this place had DELICIOUS fish tacos and yes although Tapas are traditionally from Spain- not all food here was traditionally tapas style. Let's just say, it was freaking GOOOOD!

What a spot! I know my wife loves this place. We went twice while there. Personally, I like their other restaurant, Rosewood, more. However, the food and service here certainly warrant a visit if you're in Ulaanbaatar. The Shrimp Aguachile Ceviche was tart and fresh. The Beef Barbacoa tacos were on a nice dark corn tortilla and had a ton of flavourful and sweet BBQ sauce. The Jamón Cebo Iberico was nice and had a nice bit of salt, but was on the expensive side. The Queso Fundido was insane. Huge and cheesy with a nice strong hit of flavours from the veggies inside, really great. The Beef Shoulder was insanely tender on a bed of velvety smooth mashed potatoes. The Smoked Beef Tongue was similar in texture to liver and was on a large bed of beans. Like all their dishes, very flavourful, however, I probably wouldn't get it again as it's a texture I'm not very fond of, but if you like tongue or liver, you'll really like this. The XXX Spicy Taco was advertised. Holy hell what a spice. However, the grilled pork and onions comes through nicely. It's also good for a laugh among friends because it really is spicy. The sauce in the Gambas Al Ajillo made the dish. The Churros were light and fluffy on the inside and wonderfully crisp on the outside with a generous amount of cinnamon sugar. Finally, the cheesecake with a layer of sweet fig on top is one of the reasons my wife took me here in the first place. So smooth and creamy, this was an extremely unique cheesecake that I would absolutely get again

I think the husband and wife duo are hitting an another homerun with this one. The food is absolutely fantastic especially when it’s really hard to find the right spices and ingredients. All dishes are latin cuisine inspired. There are no compromises with ingredients. The dishes come in small portions so you can order a bunch of them to try all kinds of flavor combinations. I’m not very much into mixed drinks, but there seem to be a good variety with hard to find tequilas. However, they also have Australian beers (little creatures and lashes, can’t remember the rest). Any ale is good for a town that is overflowing with lagers. The feel and aura of the place is loud and alive: it is bursting with flavors, colors, music, alcohol and happy people. The price is actually on the more expensive side, but I can understand why. Lots of small dishes and exotic ingredients. Expect to pay MNT 100k per person, including drinks, to be fully stuffed. But if you like food, you’re not going to miss that money. Cliff and Zaya are also into quality control. So many restaurants in this town start good and stay good for only a few months. So the best part about the place is that you can expect to have the same type of food and service 3 years from now as you did yesterday. A very welcome addition to this town.

This place specializes in Mexican cuisine, so if you are a connoisseur, you are welcome there. Wide range of tacos, qussadillas, tapas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also the drink menu just strikes your imagination with a large variety of offers. The atmosphere is very authentic, cool interior, great music.

Great Mexican tacos in a quiet neighbourhood. Good vibes wth great service except requires to be there 17:30 to get a decent table.

While it’s still a fine place to dine with a vibrant atmosphere, fast & professional service, a good variety of foods and an eye-catching interior, the food is unfortunately just not as good as it used to be. I was a frequent visitor to La Rosa back when it first opened up but I’ve steadily been dropping off since then. Crispy fish tacos aren’t crispy, the spice isn’t hot, the tortillas can occasionally be very doughy and the food just lacks flavor, personality and zing overall. However, it’s still a good choice for a place to hang out and can offer non-traditional tacos and tapas at a decent price point.

Young, hip, fancy and loud are the first things come to my mind when entering the place. A great location with different seating areas and a very attentive and great service team. Food arrives fast, is well presented and tasty. Only the spicy dishes are in my eyes too spicy. I enjoyed my visit and will for sure come back again

Remarkable choice for a special date. It'd be what you'd call a fusion cuisine. The menu has good versatility though I don't agree on its pricing. A good place to start if you'd like to get a grasp on finessed cuisine. The place had a hot launch but has since degraded in every aspect. When I last came here, I couldn't hold a conversation without spitting on my company or putting my mouth in their ears thanks to their brilliant music. The ventilation system seemed to have failed as we became barbecues by the time we left. The churros I ordered had a deceptive look as it had a mushy texture. A big disappointment.

Honestly, I always come and dine at La rosa but this restaurant not the same as before. I took take out burrito and turns out it was spicy!! Servers didnt notify me that it was spicy, also burrito was so small. I remember when I was ordering before I barely could finish the other half. But this time it was so tiny! Also rice was so tasteless. Anyways, I dont think I will come or recommend to my friends no more, but before I always recommended to all my friends who was coming from other countries. This restuarant just lost their 5 star authenticity.

Good service, fun vibes/decor, but all 5 stars for this beautiful tuna ceviche. The black bean sauce on top had the perfect kick.

It opens at 17:30. The most of tables have been occupied at 17:45. The VIP room is only available for reservation.

The food was not up to standart have such a loud music. Beef taco served cold and the smoked beef was overcooked . When it comes to service I ordered 3 dishes, but 2 came after 30 to 40 minutes, then i tried to pay the bill waitress didn't show up and i saw them talking on the stair. This place so overhyped. NOT recommended.

Best taco in town! Highly recommend all the tacos and the smoked beef tongue. Only thing that would make all the tacos absolutely perfect is if they made the taco fillings less juicy - taco shell gets easily ripped and it overall tasted a bit watered down.

The atmosphere and service at this place are great. However, the quality of the food falls short, lacking the authentic Mexican taste I was expecting. Despite this, if you're searching for a spot to enjoy drinks and socialize, it's a decent choice
