If you go early enough, the fog hangs over the trees and creates an eerie feel. Even better, the spiderwebs glisten with dew in the early morning sun. The drive up is also pretty neat and I didn't run into a single person while I was there!

This is a hidden gem! I wish I had found it sooner. There is a lot to see. If you are interested in seeing birds bring binoculars. There were a few wet spots when we went. We actually went home, put on rubber boots, and went back. I can't wait to visit again in the spring.

Loved this place! Easy and flat the whole way. A few steps if you want to look out at some of the views. Just a small warning for little ones or those unsteady on their feet: It is an elevated walk way the whole hike. Meaning their are sides you could fall off of, if not paying attention. The plastic grated is the more secure and non moving part of the hike. When you get to the wooden boards their is some motion, loose boards and small holes. (Nothing major) Just something to be aware of. Will definitely go back and check it out in all kinds of seasons!

Amazing trail, be prepared to walk through some water. My kids thoroughly enjoyed splashing through the trail.

I really enjoyed this unique experience. However, I was confused about how traffic worked once the trail turned into a plastic platform. There were people exiting as I was entering but there was no where to step off to the side unless you want to stand in a foot of water. The platform is about 2 feet wide and difficult for others to pass.

I had a wonderful time here. My only wish was that I could have spent more time here. Thank you Sycamore Land Trust for preserving this nature refuge. I will be back again. I took the loop a short ways to the left. I would highly recommend this preserve for exploring.

The trail is very well maintained and the entire 1.5 mile loop is walkable on risers (think Venice). Come when it's wet to experience the unique aquatic trail / swamps without getting your shoes wet. The risers are a bit narrow, so you might want to watch out and not fall over. There are a few spots where there are ton of mosquitos, so you should bring the spray.

Heavily shaded marsh forest. The trail is wide and well built including steel paths over wetlands. Very buggie and humid in summer so spray yourself well before entering. I've never seen another person there during weekdays. It's a special place.

This preserve is very beautiful and fun to enjoy. My advice is... Bring water shoes in case that you have to cross some flooded short area of the path close to the entrance. Also be careful if you find wet boards... They are very slick. The forest looks like a beautiful swamp... I really enjoyed the experience. Only regret was that I have to be concerned where I was stepping on because of the narrowed trail.

There are so many different ecosystems to explore. You have to experience it yourself!

The back part of the trail is closed due to storm damage but everything we saw was really nice and the trail is well maintained. The boardwalk makes it very easy to walk. I'd love to go back when the trail is fixed. My only suggestion is make sure to take some kind of mosquito repellent. It's a must!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this preserve! It's perfect for 30-45 minute walks (over an hour if you're like me and my sister and take pictures constantly lol). This past spring I saw baby Midland water snakes with my fiance and my sister and I saw our first gorgeous Northern water snake a few weeks ago! I love all the nature surrounding this area and love finding new species I haven't found before. This is definitely one of the best preserves in the area to visit!

Nice walk in the nature in wooden board walks. Quiet. Small parking lot (maybe 10 cars) but never had any issue finding parking. Depending on the season, the short path from the parking lot to the start of the boardwalk could be flooded ( need rain boots or water shoes to cross). Some wood planks are wobbly, nothing dangerous, but can be very fun for kids to jump up and down(especially when the water level is high and some of the planks are in the water).
