Time to decompress or meditate, you found the right spot! There is a $2.50/person fee to enter. You can hike, bike, hop or skip. Most trails are shady and have a hard surface with cool interesting signs along the way. Tons of birding/wildlife and if you walk the long loop you will reach The Atlantic. You may also see alligators because of the brackish lake in the middle or a crocodile at the end. (Pass on swimming) Also, throughout the park are ruins to check out from the original plan. Restrooms and tables are available for a picnic ***Beware: if you don't have bug spray, go somewhere else!!! ✌🏽♥️ 🐊

A quiet & quaint spot just at the top of Key Largo. Small 6-8 space parking lot at the entrance fo the Botanical Park. We chose to ride some bikes and was very please to see the paved paths at the entrance. About 50 yards in there is a small single occupant bathroom, and only a couple of yards past that is the main intersection for all the paths. In the center of the rotary is a semi covered pergola with picnic tables. Soon after this area the paved paths turn to packed dirt, and then only the slightly overgrown, worn in tire paths intermittently lead you other packed down dirt paths. I might have missed them at the entrance, but i wish there was more park info on the direction of the paths, and their destination, even the "bike path" option on Google maps doesn't show the paths. Other than this minor inconvenience I liked the ride. Bring big spray and make sure you wear it has to toe.

There are multiple nature trails, though no signs are posted with maps. It is easy to get lost if you are not careful, though there are cell phone and GPS signals all throughout the state park in case you do lose your way. If you start from the main entrance, there is a paved, shaded trail for about 1 mile. It turns into a gravel road, without much shade after that. If you take a right at the roundabout, and then take a right when you see construction wood and a pile of white gravel, you can see the ocean. The trail ends, and hits the water right about where you see "Port Bouganville Campsite" on Google maps. I visited this location on Jan 28, 2021, during COVID restrictions, and restrooms were all closed.

Great place for a nature hike, some areas fully paved, once the pavement ends, not difficult terrain but it has exposed limestone/coral and the occasional tree roots.

Good trails and lots of fun plants. I had a hard time getting to the water but the paths were fun. Great place to ride a bike or take a walk. The trees make for good photos or a relaxing space to walk. Definitely would go back in the future.

The trail is a mix of natural earth and paved path. There are many informational plaques next to the identified tree itself. There is even a beautiful river running along some rocky cliffs, and if you really hike, there are marshy areas full of fiddler crabs. WARNING: Bring bug spray or be eaten alive.

This is an old abandoned subdivision that was converted to a botanical park. Very peaceful. Walking/cycling trails. This park doesn't get a tremendous amount of traffic. Aside from a couple of picnic tables and widely spaced benches, there are no amenities. Entry fee is honor system.

This absolutely neglected park is an absolute gem. Both walking trails and bike trails. Park manager says the signs marking plants and trees are rumored to be replaced in the next two weeks, but bring an App or a book to ID everything. In some spots, after a rain, you can test your bug spray to see if it’s a marinade or a repellent. AND then there’s DIAGON ALLEY. Very few people go there.

Natural trails, pretty lake area in one part and some limited access to the waterfront in another, most trails are wheelchair accessible. No beach. Good for cycling and easy walking. Some interpretive signs along the way. Dog friendly. $2.50 per person paid in to an honor system box. Mosquitoes are not bad in the winter months, but you may still want a bit of spray if there is no breeze as there are a few no-see-ums

There was really nothing here to see. The scenery is nothing special and not even worthy of a photo. I saw perhaps one butterfly and some lizards on the ground. You might encounter a few occasional hikers but that's it. Spend your holiday in Florida elsewhere like the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

Yes, there are mosquitos, BUT THAT IS EXPECTED. This is south Florida and fumigation is not environmentally friendly. The park is great, you have to be willing to walk and go over rocks, etc. I highly recommend this place for a day out in nature.

It was nice. Many trails were closed off, I believe because of the hurricane. It isn't "botanical" like you'd expect, so I'm not sure why they named it that. However, there is a nice water view in the center that makes it worth the walk. I'd do it again.

One of the most interesting parks we have visited in the state. Was gonna be a neighborhood (I think) and they did some military testing in the back where it is "no trespassing" The "club house" is like something outta The Blair Witch project. Highly recommend you check this place out if you are in the area.

Nice little hiking & biking park... Had to head back to get bike repaired, so did not stay long... Hopefully I can go back tomorrow and I will update this review... I want to see where some of these trails lead and what's there. Open 8 am to sunset, restrooms and picnic tables available...

Pretty trail! Mosquitoes weren't horrible but definitely recommend bug spray. The trail was flooded in the NE corner (tidal wetlands) so keep that in mind.

This site is just an excuse to charge money. Payment is on the honour system as you have to put money in an envelope and drop the envelope in a drop box. There's looks to be a trail Cam pointed at the drop box. It's just an abandoned site with a few plaques indicating several tree species. We walked and walked but saw nothing so we headed back. To be fair, we probably only covered about 20% of the property but felt there was no indication that there was anything more around the next corner. There was a black chicken at the front gate which was neat but totally coincidental. Not worth getting out of the car for unless you really like looking at trees. Also, it was a windy day and maybe the season wasn't right to see a lot of the native birds. We were there February 16, 2022.

Too many bugs! Even I brought two bottle of big spray, the mosquitoes are crazy. I cannot stop for a second to check anything. Seeing nothing in the end but to run away. It could be a good place if no so much bugs.

Incredible botany and wildlife. Loved the near-empty trails and birdwatching.

Basically a tree park to learn about different trees. Has a walking trail and a bathroom rest area. Has alot of spider webs a certain of year at night. It's quiet and peaceful. You can bike, skate or walk.
