Amazing restaurant with great food. The staff were all so nice and super helpful. The service was amazing and there was a great ambiance in the restaurant. Definitely recommend coming here for a date night or a larger dinner. The Aperol spritz was lovely, and all of the food was so fresh.

We went to this place on the recommendation from a friend. We ordered a bunch of different dishes gnocchi, ravioli, the bolognese, and the duck ragu. All the food was really good and we ordered the margarita as drinks which were nice and had a good amount of alcohol. The service was also amazing as the server talked to us about the food and where the ingredients are from and even talked about the history of the restaurant. Do keep in mind that when going here, they don't do reservations so you have to put your name and they will call you when the table is ready. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant and loved it!

What a great place for a tasty meal. First time I went tonight and wow! The food was delicious! Italian style decor that makes you actually feel like you're in a small resto in rome, and the atmosphere is just very peaceful even when its a full house. I tried the ravioli and it was spectacular. My friend had the special meat platter and it was really filling (don't remember the name of it). Portions are very generous compared to most places with similar menus. They have an outdoor terrace and seating at the bar as well. Will definitely go back to try everything else on the menu. Almost forgot to mention that they had homemade tiramisu that melts in your mouth. Mix that with an espresso and you have a match made in heaven. OUTSTANDING. Sounds nutty but, this place set the bar for me for what I want for Italian food. This was one of the places my wife and I were looking forward to trying on our short visit to Montreal from NY.. and it exceeded all expectations X10. FRITTO MISTO - Hands down the based calamari/fried seafood I've ever had at an Italian restaurant. Other google reviewers' photos tell the truth: barely-there light breading, plus extremely fresh seafood cooked perfectly, perfect sauce to complement. PUTTANESCA - First bite, you get the taste of olives, and then everything else, and its just done so right. Pasta cooked perfectly, sauce is amazing. POLPETTE di AMERIGO (3 Braised Veal Meatballs) - So glad we added this to our order.. very delicately cooked and sauce is light with tons of flavor. Can't imagine the work going into making this dish without any flaws as it was served. This restaurant was seriously something else... I really hope it doesn't change, and is a DEFINITE to come back to/recommend. As I was eating here I thought.. this place has perfected/combined, 1. The taste of "grandmas cooking", with utmost delicate attention + 2. Made in a very controlled manner so I could imagine it being predictably very good every time. Yet price is reasonable. Also just last comment.. staff, the young women working the front/serving, were sweet, and attentive. Really caring, you can tell they have pride in the food and restaurant, and customers' experience. My wife and I couldn't get over how friendly the servers/workers were the whole time. I wish you all the best! Places like this are hard to find. To the mgr/owner, your workers are outstanding, and we absolutely enjoyed dining at your restaurant!!

Going away lunch and everyone was pleased. The food was amazing, as well as the service. Felt like we were visiting Italy, no passport needed. Left with take-away, so great portions. Will come again!

One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had! The octopus was so tender and juicy. The gnocchi was also so light and fluffy. All their pastas were spectacular - not too heavy but full of flavor! I would recommend everything on their menu.

Amazing food and friendly staff. Fresh ingredients used from start to finish. Grilled octopus just melts in your mouth! It was cooked to perfection. Simple salad was made with a refreshing house dressing. Will definitely be returning to try the other main dishes.

This place was bustling on a Wednesday night. The service was quick and the food was amazing! We ordered calamari as starter, the parpadelle and the cavatelli. The mains comes with bread and soup or salad. The minestrone was very hardy and flavorful. My favourite dish was the cavatelli as the balance of the sausage and the bitterness of the brocollini made the dish balanced. The portions were generous and was left feeling very full. Would def come again when craving Italian food.

Heard outstanding things, and it was a solid ‘pretty good’. - The gnocchi was good - pillowy and fluffy with a pretty flavourful sauce. - The cavatelli was not so good. It was veryyy salty and the broccoli was strangely bitter. - The meatballs were exactly what you would expect - honestly, the free bread was a highlight because they use greatttt olive oil The service was really good and attentive. The bill for 1 appetizer and 2 pastas was $75, pretty reasonable. Good place for a date or chill dinner with friends. We went at 8pm and Thursday and there was no wait for 2 people.

I grew up in NDG and just moved back after 8 years and this was my first restaurant I visited as it was heavily recommended by my friends. It did not disappoint. Before getting into the food, as a Canadian-Italian the staff working at Bistro Amerigo made me feel welcome and right at home and reminded me why I love this neighbourhood so much. The food was very good. It definitely beats more expensive Italian restaurants downtown. The options are somewhat basic but I believe that is what makes them great. They are not trying to re-invent the wheel, they are giving us what we know and love and I appreciate that. The wine menu is somewhat limited if you just want a glass and not a while bottle but after all… who just wants a glass? We were so full that we decided to take dessert home because they looked so good and we couldn’t pass them up and I am happy to say that they were also amazing. They don’t take reservations and are very busy between 6:30 and 8 so definitely come around 30 minutes before you want to eat. The wait will be worth it. Definitely will be returning!

Delicious Italian spot with amazing food. We got the calamari which was very tasty and the batter wasn’t overwhelming. The Gnocchi with the truffle pesto and mushrooms was delicious and the shrimp Ravioli with the squash sauce was sooo tasty and comforting. We would go again and try out other items. We were full so didn’t try any desserts but definitely next time.

Okay so, I will start with the negatives. The bread they serve is not good at all, it's dry, it's not hot and it's not impressive. The side salad is also bad, it's just lettuce, olive oil and vinegar. For the price asked, I think those two items should be more "generous". The positives: the main dish was amazing, very tasty very fulfilling and that's what made me give this restaurant 4 stars. Service and atmosphere are decent.

Absolutely amazing experience!! From the moment we walked in the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming! They helped us navigate the extensive menu to chose the perfect dish based on what we were in the mood for. We went for the meatballs and fritto misto to start followed by the cavatelli and enormous chicken parm. Food was mind blowing and so comforting! Fresh and flavourful. Everyone was so sweet and we cannot wait to come back! Thanks so much team for the great night!
