Not that expensive and really fun to pass some time. There isn't much to see in terms of an exhibit so you'd spend maybe 30 mins before or after, so it's basically the 2 shows that are about 20 mins each but plan 1 hr for the 2 shows for the waiting in between time The architecture is really interesting, there is maquette downstairs that explains the two théâtres are meant to be binoculars. COVID: you get inside and need to sanitize your hands, they make you wear their surgical mask so it's new and clean. Only one entrance in where the ORIGINES sign is. Limited tickets sold, the dome theatre isn't filled and is well spaced. Entrance and gift shop closes at 530pm but you have time after your show to see the exhibits once you're already in.

I really enjoyed the film/dome presentation I saw here. Beautiful visuals, the presenter was wonderful, and so much good information. I would love to see more. The meteorite collection was also very cool.

September 2023 5* Visited the place with my little one after visit to Biodome. The place is connected through underground tunnel. Exhibition area is closed currently but you can enjoy the movies. The movies are available in both English and French. Generally two movies are shown in one show. - We are Star ***** - Lucia - the secret of shooting star ***** - Celestial Chronicles ***** - World of Ice **** There are two theatres - Milky Way (circular seats) and Chaos (with bean bags). I really liked chaos theatre as you can lie down to watch the movie.

This was our first visit to the new planetarium. The films Passport to the Universe and the Birth of Planet Earth were very good. We liked the first film better. The bean bag chairs made it really casual and fun but might be difficult for people with disabilities or mobility issues. The films last about an hour and there are some.exhibis of nature photos from around the world as well as exhibits of space photos from amateur astronomy. There is also a very interesting exhibit of meteorites from around the world - a young gentleman was very helpful with some interesting facts. Apart from that, it seemed lacking.. as if something else was missing. I'm not sure if there are usually other exhibits, but some hand on exhibits or information on Canada's participation in the space program, maybe a model of the CanadArm or astronauts would have Made it more complete. Even some planetary knowledge, or random space facts exhibits. The cost was ok for 2 films, so it's still worth the visit.

I had a great time visiting the planetarium. The experience is quite unique from the show done with the amazing dome like projection to the exposition outside. It’s a great idea as a date or a family trip. It is in the proximity to the metro and biodome at the same time making a super accessible activity.

The exhibition was a bit underwhelming but the movies made up for it. People working there love what they do and are very passionate. Was worth the trip, the 22$ not so much.

It was a great experience to watch the movie Aurora. They have about 1 hour minute doors for both French and English. It was a great experience.

A great way to see something different here in Montreal. Set in the word of the biodome, the stadium and the botanical gardens this is a fun location for kids and adults alike. Check out the schedule for what shows (in English and French) are playing. Please note that all you really get is the show, not much else to see. For the 22.50 you pay per person it’s a little steep for a 50 min show.

The representation was really nice with the instructor. But it changed a lot since last time I went (other location), there was nothing else to see... you literally pay your full price ticket for.. an hour movie that has a 30min instructor. And the staff was not happy to work there. Did not want to help and did not know what to say. They were talking to each other about nothing. For a touristic place... I was disapointed.

I visited the Montreal Planetarium. A place that aroused wonderful emotions! The performance, Celistial Chronicles, really takes you to the stars. Comfortable rooms, pleasant atmosphere. Great service provided by all staff. I recommend it and will certainly return for other presentations, as I have already secured my annual passport.

Happy about the Thursday night a 8 dollar double feature special. Set up is interesting and very modern. Seating in the planetarium to watch the show on the screen was a bit uncomfortable as the focal point of the feature was not in the centre of the screen but off to the side which made sitting completely upright and having to look over difficult. Would recommend visitors to sit as close to the centre as possible as sitting in the proof impedes line of sight.

We saw the English language show on May 14. There were two half hour shows back to back. The facilitator was knowledgeable, talented and funny. He engaged well with adults and children. The show is extremely good with perfect visuals and sound. The chairs are comfortable. The show started a little late but this did not bother us. Outside there is a small museum display of meteors and such. This museum is fairly new replacing the old planetarium. One issue was the parking. It is poorly marked. If you get to the right lot you get a discount by validating tickets. We followed the poor signage that brought us to lot 5 right beside it but that lot was not the right one and we should have been in 6 so parking was crazy expensive.

I’m personally not a huge fan of this. I expected beautiful views but it wasn’t worth it. I’m not totally against it but, I personally don’t like it. Those who loves gardens would definitely love it.

We bought tickets at the kiosk. My friend and I wanted to see one of the planetarium shows. We accidentally bought tickets for a show in French. We went to the ticket counter- unfortunately we had to wait a while as only one person was working. They did exchange our tickets for a later show that was in English. We saw a double feature on the northern lights and constellations. The show was quite good. We had an excellent guide who was very funny. The exhibit was interesting but quite small. I wish they had more exhibits to view.

Beautiful experience for adults and children alike. Great time. The expo is quite short but I am guessing due to covid . The Films are amaizing.

Saw a show here called Worlds Beyond Earth and it was absolutely fantastic. The exhibition too was very interesting, however, it was a bit too small to spend a lot of time. The biggest disappointment was with buying a souvenir at the gift shop advertised as Galaxy Night Light. The box claims that we would feel like 'we are sleeping under ther stars'. See the attached photo for a huge disappointment. It is just a simple nightlight. I would advise the excellent staff at the planetarium to please vet their gift shop products and remove items which are clearly false advertisements.

Nice place to get knowledge on our universe and solar system. This planetarium is having theatres showing video: Never ending journey - video about various planets and it's satellite. Another video about astronauts life in ISS. Both videos are informative and it looks real to watch. This place also having various meteorites and it's details as display. Few games for kids.

Went on a rainy weekday in the morning and the crowd was much better than on weekends of course. We saw the English 60 minute show in the Chaos Theater and it was so immersive for my little one. Learned all about the solar system and more. We loved it! So worth the annual pass. The whole presenter was also very engaging. Will definitely come back for the other shows!

Planetarium 3.5/5 pretty cool but only have the shows, nothing else. Long lines to get into the shows too so you might not get a great seat. The theatre de la voix lactée is all seats, the other theatre has some bean bags which is much cooler. Shows rotate between French and English so plan your trip in advance. Construction between the station and the location makes it hard to get to (June 2023)

Idk if it’s worth visting. It had nice cushions but just one movie was nice, probably nice for children. I visited on a Thursday and the tickets were on discount ($10), they play 2 movies of 30min each. I watched Starmap to the Unseen Universe and Skywalkers: the first one was interesting, the second was so boring that almost everybody felt asleep.. and that’s all.. for 1-2 dollars more I could’ve been to the movie theater in the r next building

We went for the Thursday $10 shows (1 hour movie - 2 30 min shows in a row). There’s not really an exhibit, just some posters up and small display. Parking is about $14 to use their lot. It’s nice to walk outside around the whole park. But the planetarium is just for the shows that’s it.

Wonderful! The best planetarium I've been. We watched StarMap + Continuum. I felt in the space.

Bean bag chairs for a planetarium film is next level. This made our visit soooo much more fun. It was like a big sleep over!!! Great job all.

The exhibition was .. very small but the space movie was so interesting, this was such a unique experience! A shout out to the cafe in Planetarium, they have tasty healthy options for adults and kids, including vegan, unlike other places we have visited. Kids really really liked it. Especially the movie, and lego spaceships ( I don't remember them but kids are insisting I write for others!) Note that movies are playing at 0.5 h interval, French and English, so wait for a movie can be an hour if you don't check the schedule in advance.

Watched the Auroras and ISS showing. Super cool and very interesting. The beans are very comfy to sit on !! There’s also angled chairs if you don’t want to sit on the beans. They have great deals on Thursdays viewings. I don’t know why I was expecting it to be like the Cosmodome in Laval, but it wasn’t. It’s really just the couple of rooms for the showings and a section on the meteorites and a gift shop. You could do the whole thing in about less than 2h. Worth the visit

We went for Bébé Symphonique there, it was an amazing experience for babies. The show was very nice, they babies were happy! Very clean place. You can bring your stroller with you. There is a changing table even with diapers for you.

The little movies was interesting, but the exposition wasn’t very big though.

Interesting movie. Incredible experience if you never visited planetarium before. Few things worth improvement: 1. It's not clear, but due to the way its built you need to sit in the centre to avoid seeing projection defects. 2. They didn't show that much of real photos and it's all about improvised graphics :( 3. It's around 1 hour 10 minutes long. If kid is too young, (s)he will get bored after around 40 minutes. You can't visit toilet anytime during session, plus exit means you can't come back. 4. French only. Couldn't figure if there's a way around it.

Wonderful experience. They have shows in English as well as French. The kids shows are super cute. They have excellent oversized bean bag chairs for maximum comfort. Go check it out!

  • 4/5 Varsha 2 years ago on Google
The films were quite nice and informative. The seating was very appropriate (reclined seats and/or bean bags) given the fact that you were looking up at the dome-like ceiling the whole time. For families with children, this is a must-see!

Went to watch the Birth of Planet Earth and Aurorae show (double feature). A very relaxing but educational experience. The bean bag chairs were extremely comfortable. The visuals and sound system was state-of-the-art. Show was approximately 50 minutes long in total. A truly unique and interesting experience.

It was cool but in one of the shows I watched, journey through space. The commentator said Jupiter is 11 times bigger than earth. It's like 1300 times better than earth. How can a place where space is the main focus get something so elementary so wrong? Kind of embarrassing.
