This is indeed an F1 racing track in service. Not many people can say they’ve driven on an F1 track. Speeding is strictly prohibited.

Visited the track for the 2018 Grand Prix. The track is beautifully set up and the journey there is so fun as you are transported by boats! When visiting not on race day the island is a pretty a charming city park. During the F1 race the energy is so high and everything runs so smoothly. The views of the track from spectator viewing is perfect. My husband works with F1 and it appears that this circuit is both a staff and driver favourite!

If you have not been to an F1 race here, I have some information you need to know. You cannot park anywhere near the track. YOU WILL BE WALKING A LOT. 16-20K Steps per day. You will have to walk over the bridge, after you take the Subway there. You can bring in canned beer (no glass) and food. Read the dimensions on the website for your cooler size. Enjoy, it is a beautiful facility and great track!

Truly one of the best races to visit. So close to the city you really get the best of a race weekend experience with a great track and superb city atmosphere. Entrance to the track can be a lengthy wait but plenty of methods of travel are available.

Best venue for a Formula 1 race in my opinion. I've been here every year since 1996 for the F1 Grand Prix du Canada and the place is always electric. Hundreds of people, music blasting, cars flying by, there is nothing like it. So much to see and do even when cars are not on the track. Definitely recommend to walk the entire island and enjoy it and experience how awesome this place truly is.

Great memories of the Canadian F1 Grand Prix. The track is super close to the city centre so it’s a fan and team favourite as there is so much to explore outside away from the track. The race is almost always entertaining as it’s a tricky course.

I come here regularly for my bike circuit training, the track is separated in two, one side for pedestrians & bicyclists and the other cars, there are bathrooms and drinking fountains available, you can also detour from the track and step into a beautiful garden. The track is always well maintained, never had an issue for the 10 years that I've been coming here.

Had a great time at the races...but they need to find a better way to evacuate the spectators when all is finished and done, thousands of people cannot be waiting for so long for the metros. They need to add a shuttle bus/busses. We are in 2022. This is a great circuit but the overall experience for the between races, passtime can be improved.

There was no event this day but you can rent a bixi bike and enjoy this track. You can also visit the Casino, the bassin for the row Olympics, the beach and other activities the island offers.

A must for any F1 fan. It's free to drive around on a day with no events. Don't get silly fantasies though, there is a strict low speed limit in place ;) We drove around the track (slowly) and let our imaginations do the rest. It gave us a new level of admiration for the F1 drivers see how close to the road the barriers were!

Definately worth visiting if you are into F1. The views are scenic and the track is also available for cycling, ideal for usual laps...

We enjoyed riding our bikes around the track we watch F1 race on

For a closed circuit I found it quite dangerous for people walking it. You have authorized cars in the right lane to look out for and cyclists are zooming by constantly to the left. They should do a better job of protecting pedestrians. Other than that, nothing to do here.

Gets busy after work, but still a great place to knock out some uninterrupted kms on the bike, as long as you don't mind feeling slow even when busting out a 45km/hr avg, which is about as fast as my gravel bike will allow me to go. Very motivating though!

Great atmosphere for F1 events. Went to Montréal 2022 GP for the first time ever and absolutely loved it. Everyone is friendly, the food is good (over priced but whatever), and good time to have fun for the weekend of F1.

I absolutely love this track. So clean and spacious. Easy access. Very well organized staff and clean bathroom facilities. Take the metro or Uber because there is no parking.

Visited here for the F1 weekend and had a great time. Walking the track after gave a really good idea of how fast the cars are. Food selection could have been better but I imagine that changes with each setup

One of the cheapest circuits you can visit the F1. But save a bit and do not take the General admission since you cannot see anything from there and if it rains you enter in a mud pool. I was on saturday seated on "Senna" and was amazing, but i am sure the "hairpin" or "lance stroll" area are quite good as well. Food is expensive as you may expect but i saw people bringing its own food (not booze).

Anyone who hasn’t had a great experience at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is lying. A world class track in such an awesome setting, with great grandstands, races, and activities for everyone. I have been here for F1 races and NASCAR races, and had a great time at each of them. Would highly recommend skipping the Miami GP to attend this one instead.

Amazing public facility opened everyday. Saw bikers and runners enjoying the long and flat road. Besides car racing, it can be used for leisure for all ages. There are toilets and water fountains spread along the park. Easy accessible by metro from downtown.

What a great F1 Grand Prix experience. Crowd management was on point, good maintenance and upkeep of the grounds despite the hundreds and thousands of visitors on all 3 days.

A great circuit in a beautiful city. I wouldn’t recommend taking the general admission tickets. There’s a lot of people and some of them come extremely early which covers all the best viewpoints so spend a little more and get in the stands. Preferably #15 which has the best view.

Went for a F1 race. If you're into F1 get grandstand seats at this venue. The track is on a man made island and is completely flat. Being flat you aren't going to get a great view of a lot of the circuit at track level no matter where you are. We walked around and thought the best spot was near the start finish straight. This was cool, and you got to see all the pit stops, and could see a Megatron of what was happening on the rest of the circuit. We got there at 08:30 for the 14:00 race and were the 5th row of people back. Everyone decided to stand the whole time so my 5'1" wife didn't get to see a whole lot. With GA tickets you need to bring chairs and people fight for the best spots so I didn't want to leave our spots unattended. We took turns exploring the rest of the area, which was huge. The track is 2.7 miles long so there was a lot of thing going on around the track. Would have been more fun if we had assigned seats we didn't have to worry about someone else taking. They had a Martin Garrax concert after the race which was great. They did a good job of getting the 340,000 people into the subway to get out of the venue. The line was long but moved. Will go back for another F1 race.

This is not what I expected outside of a grand prix weekend. This is a really good place to run / cycling, with a pretty good view on the city.

Only downer during our visit eas because of the strike there wasn't as many tables open and the diners hours were restricted during our visit. But we love the ambiance and atmosphere of this casino.

Great experience at the F1, well organized and easy access. The place is huge Why not 5 stars? Restroom lines were long and the food was not great. I got a burned and cold hamburger one day and putin with old fries another one. The third day I got a really good lobster roll, so it's about luck I guess.

Probably the best road to bike on in Canada. Although it’s flat and a circuit.

  • 5/5 Thaïs V. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing place to go cycling as the asphalt is perfect. Weekdays are relatively empty to do a couple of fast laps. Separations are well organised and usually everybody respects the other users.

I absolutely love f1 so it was a dream to come visit and look around. I can't wait to come back to actually watch a race!

Great, as a formula one fan, it was great. I visited the geodesic dome before and got great views. The track is Prestine along with the biking, and waking track

They run formula 1 - Car racing with big audience. They have a nice beach with entrance fee. They also have canons and paddling boats for rent. The allowed area in water is very limited so you won't really enjoy the nature much. It's not bad to try for the first time.

What an amazing place and setting to see our favorite Motorsport. The F1 race here is a first class experience. Shade when you need it and helpful, courteous event staff. Can't wait to come back and we came a very long way.

We went there to take a look at the circuit and the new pit lane. The track is accessible to the public, except for the hairpin. It is divided for bicycles and cars. It is great to drive around with your own car; however the official speed limit is 30 km/h (20 mph) and there are many STOP signs. It would be much better without them and a meaningful speed limit. My fastest lap was a 5:05 min.

Great track, pretty good entry/exit compared to most. You can't really get a good view of the track from anywhere, but the grand stands are great for seeing the pits and start/finish line

This is a walking park so please wear shoes that fit the location. I was there for F1. The bleaches are so bad and over crowded. Do not buy seats in them spend more and get real seats. The race was great and the view amazing. Just be ready to walk alot also the logistics on getting there are tough you can only get in by train or boat. It gets real crowded.

F1. Great place for F1! I love how they use some areas for different sponsored lounges and activities! Truly a memorable weekend for Montreal every year!

Walked almost all of it. I recommend renting a bixi to go around the circuit. The F1 facilities are obviously locked, but you can still climb the outside stairs the get a glimpse of the paddock club view of the start finish line

Fab place to visit and not only if you want to see the F1 track. You can drive, cycle or walk the track; there are plenty of other things to enjoy including pavilions and gardens and we saw plenty of beavers 👌

This was such a cool experience. It just made it so much better doing it on a bixi electric bike. The worst part was the pro riders who lack manners and etiquette. Walk ride run or drive, amazing to experience. Brings F1 to another level.

The Home to Canadian Grand Prix, this is one of the oldest f1 circuit in the current calender with different curbs and road composition. It makes it a unique and tough challenge for the new age drivers. Very accessible from the downtown via metro and walking distance from Biosphere and is inside parc Jean Drapue. On Normal days you can bike or ride a car on the track. While on other days, you can watch f1 cars driving past at 300kmph.

Canadian Grand Prix 2022 was an awesome experience and highly recommend if you are an F1 fan and thinking about going to see an race in person

  • 3/5 U A. 1 year ago on Google
Being an F1 enthusiast and it being 2022, the fan experience during the race is underwhelming. It would be nice to at least have a board indicating the lap counter. We had seats at grandstand 15 (turn 10 hairpin) and along with 3 other grandstands in that area have no access to race information other than a small screen showing the tv feed. Access race info online was frustrating, mobile data was non-existent on race day due to 150000+ at the event. Improvements can also be made to moving attendees around the venue where lots of time is spent in bottle necks and long ques of people. The race was fun but the venue needs an overhaul to improve the race fan experience.

Canadian f1 circuit. Publicly open on off racing days. One can walk, Ride bicycle or drive car on the track. Nice place besides the casino and kayaking place.

  • 5/5 Stephen B. 2 years ago on Google
This is a must do for any active person, whether you cycle, run or rollerblade. What a thrill, especially if you keep in mind that the track is built for racing by cars that complete the 4.6 km in just slightly over 1 minute. I highly recommend you make the effort to get to the track, it's more than satisfying!

  • 5/5 Shaun C. 2 years ago on Google
excellent place to push yourself for a bike ride or run. bike access from Victoria bridge, Concorde bridge or Jacques Cartier bridge. no pot holes to battle.

We had the best time here back in 2005. Terry, Gerald, Dale and two others I can’t remember names. Sorry. Good times. I don’t S@@ anything wrong with that ;-)

  • 5/5 Arty I. 4 years ago on Google
The park is nice, but you're mainly going there for races. There is a passive racetrack there that anyone can access during normal days, but both the island and the city really come alive when F1 comes to town. Yes tickets are expensive, but it's worth it. Without racing, it becomes a nature park with some quite nice places to sit and picnic. Worth checking out or buying a ticket for.

Great place to bring any thing you can ride that doesn't have a motor, careful at intersections the people who work there aren't always paying attention
