Best lobster bisque I've had in a very long time. Our server was fantastic and the food was priced well for a seafood place. My lobster roll was also fantastic, I was actually blown away by this place.

It's not cheap, but my family and I were super pleased with our seafood at Jack's. As an oyster lover, I chose the Oyster Po'boy with salad and coleslaw for lunch. The roll it was on was amazing, even if the tomato was out of season. The pickles were fantastic, though, and made up for it. My wife had a blackened grouper sandwich with salad and slaw. The fish was fantastic; all three of us were impressed. The 13 year old went with a lobster grilled cheese sandwich with handmade potato chips as his side instead of the sensible salad his parents choose. He made the right decision, because the chips were great. The sandwich was also very good, and really packed with a lot of meat. It was impressive. The staff was very friendly and even showed off the live lobsters to done children from another table. I'd love to go back and try Jack's for dinner another time. Check it out.

Always great for a lobster craving! We came for a late lunch/early dinner on a Sunday. Service was excellent. A+++. Our server was so attentive, prompt, polite, helpful. The tables are on the smaller side if you’re getting several things so we appreciated that he asked if he could bring out the next courses when they were ready. We got a house salad (the dressing is excellent - perfectly light and acidic, really fresh greens), peel & eat shrimp, Maine lobster roll w/ fries subbed, and the lobster dinner with a side of New England clam chowder. Parking is always free across the street at the museum. A Montclair staple in my opinion.

Rating this spot a 4.5. Mostly for their clam chowda. Had a craving for a lobster roll. Ordered the Lobster Roll Plater ($28). Chose the Main roll and side salad with coleslaw and pickles, and also ordered a cup of their new England chowda ($9). The lobster roll was delicious. Nice pieces of lobster in a warm bun. The salad was wilted, I could have done without it. But the true star of the show was the chowder. So creamy and flavorful with nice pieces of clam and bits of potatoes and onions. I loved it. Was such a comforting feeling eating that. Never expected to enjoy it as much as I did. Definitely returning. Would love to dine in too, nice atmosphere and in a lovely area.in Montclair.

We love lobsters ! We went to the Montclair location. Crab Cake was good and a big piece. Crispy on the outside and stuffed full of crab, the Bruschetta base is actually a nice contrast of flavor. Lobster Fettuccine Alfredo was good. My only comment is that the lobster was a bit over cooked for my taste. Creamy cheesy sauce was good. Connecticut Lobster Roll, which is warm and buttery. Again, the lobster was a bit overcooked, but flavor wise, it was delicious. Sweet potato fries were good. Nice and crispy. I love the Blueberry soda. It's hard to find, so this made my day. hehehe Hubby was so happy that the San Pellegrino was a big bottle. For the same price, most other restaurants give him a tiny little bottle, and he hates that lol

Atmosphere is great although it's a little pricey. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You can dine in or you can order and pick up. My lobster roll (around$30) was amazing as always my son's lobster mac and cheese (around $20) he said was good.

Convenient location, simple setting, excellent service. The lobster roll was good, although the roll was a little stale. Scallops were solid. Great range of choices on the menu.

The food here is good. We ate in the sitting area and the food came quick. The one complaint is that I had to wait a long time for the waiter to come back to the table to refill the drink. One of my favorite places locally.

I liked the place, very causal ! The staff was nice and very attentive. Didn’t feel rushed at all and they even threw in a nice surprise for my sisters birthday which was super nice. My reason for 4 stars is the food was average, with seafood it can be so bland or packed with flavor and this one was just okay didn’t leave me wanting more. The presentation was on point but once you started eating it was a bit underwhelming. Honestly this is just my opinion I love seafood and wished it was a bit more flavorful. Definitely check it out for yourself and decide the atmosphere is still great for a nice casual lunch or dinner !

We got the lobster bomb and it was delicious and creamy but super heavy especially with the bisque soaked bread. I found the clam chowder had a roux that was slightly split but the lobster roll was tasty. The crab cake had good flavor but the crab meat wasn't in as large lumps as expected.

Seafood place in Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Food is excellent and a lot to choose from. Since I love seafood I have no issue but they have hamburger so a meat eaters won’t have issue. They have a full range of seafood starting from oysters, crabs to lobster. I love this place and will be back many more times.

My wife and I stopped in for the first time. we both ordered the crab roll platter to go. the crab roll is meh my wife doesn't like it at all. Way too much mayo!. Can't really taste the crab. The upside is that they were willing to give us something else so my wife ordered fish for us instead. below are photos of what we got vs what we expected. the onion rings and sweet potatoe fries were good though. The replacement fish sandwich (still covered in may🤦🏿‍♂️) and fresh chips was tasty. Overall our 1st imprsson wasn't the best, but I'd be willing to try them again.

The staff were attentive. I love BYOB restaurants! The appetizers were great especially the calamari and fried clam strips. My main dish, the Angry Seafood was not good. I did not know it came in red sauce & the clams did not taste fully cooked. I was more satisfied with the appetizer.

Went for takeout yesterday, first time in the place. Location is good with ample parking, but I was unsure about the "free" parking at the museum across the way, since the sign said permit parking only, so we parked in the street in front of the adjacent apartment building. Saw the dumpster that was out on the sidewalk. I know someone wrote a negative review about that dumpster, but it was nowhere near the entrance, so it didn't bother me. Upon entering we were surprised that the seating area was bigger than we thought it would be. Not huge, but substantial enough, and we appreciated the decor, especially loved the pallet ceiling. Place was clean and the temperature was just right. A young and friendly fellow named "K" took our order. Since it was our first time, we opted for their signature offering...lobster roll. We both ordered the lobster roll platter, mine with chips, my wife with a salad. Included was the homemade cole slaw. Everything was excellent! Very satisfying and very filling, certainly an ample portion. At first the coleslaw looked like a measly portion, but believe me, it's just the right amount because that lobster roll will fill you up, along with the tasty homemade chips. I only gave it 4 stars because it was our first visit, and we only tried one menu option, but we will be back again for sure to check out some of the other food. If all you want is lobster roll though, this place won't let you down.

Good service and clean atmosphere. The food does not sit around. Chicken sandwich is great and the lobster bisque is amazing

I can count on the food being delicious here. Service is also always great. I rated 4 star only because the lobster bisque wasn't up to par today. I will add that the waiter resolved the issue. .My favorite here is the Connecticut style lobster roll! Delicious!!!

Always a solid choice. Only one type of raw oyster available, but always fresh and clean (no grit or pieces of shell). Generous portion of lobster on their roll. My friend always gets their oyster po'boy. And lobster Mac n cheese is our go-to for sharing.

We tried this wonderful place today and we were pleasantly surprised! The service was delightful. The young lady was attentive and professional! The young man handled the sangria with care and pride. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and flavorful. We will definitely return and will recommend it to our friends and family.🥰
