perhaps the most crystal clear blue water I’ve ever been in! beautiful white sands, extremely clean, and wasn’t crowded at all. this beach is a true gem. If you visit Montego Bay, don’t just stay at your resort. Plan a day trip excursion into town, get yourself some authentic Jamaican food, and definitely go to this beach!

Doctors Cave Beach is located off the famous Hip Strip of Montego Bay. Access is via the Hip Strip, it’s a fee paying beach, the beach is impeccably clean with clear waters so you can see the sea life, if you venture out a little you can snorkel and see amazing sea life. There is bar serving drinks , cocktails and bar snacks , there is a Starbucks overlooking the beach so coffee and everything Starbucks is available. There is a bouncy thing you swim up to and bounce on or just chill and lie on, the beach can get busy from time to time, but that’s because it’s the place to hang out. The white sand, the clear sea, the warm sea and the impressive sealife makes this beach popular with tourists and locals alike

Nicely maintained beach. About $30 for two people to enter with loungers and an umbrella. Decent toilets and changing facilities. Attentive staff and good food on offer. The water trampolines were fun to use. 8/10 would recommend

It was great private beach! It is cleanest beach and you will be served by Pier One bar. But there are cafe, Starbucks and fast foods you can order and enjoy under the shade. They are good food and smoothies drinks are delicious! $8 per adult and $4 per child (12 and under). If you want sun bed and umbrella, it is €7 each. If you arrive there at 9 in the morning, it is worth it.

I know it is wrong to pay for access to the beach...but so many locals discouraged us from going to a free local one that we decided to listen to their advice. Not sure if we will not try the free Harmony Beach tomorrow but Dr Cave Beach Club was a nice experience. 8 bucks an entrance and the same if you want a bed and umbrella ( not needed as plenty of palms and building shade to hide from the sun). The beach is very clean, safe, a great bar and changing rooms with showers.

We have been to many beaches across the Caribbean. Doctor’s Cave Beach is by far one of the best. While relatively small, it is very well maintained. The water was crystal blue, and the sand was perfect. We were here on weekdays, and it wasn't crowded. There are couple cafes with decent food for lunch and Starbucks. Bring your snorkeling gear, and you won't be disappointed.

It was very packed on the day we went. Paid on entry then extra for chairs and umbrellas. The landscape as always is incredible and flights to Mo Bay coming in were close to see. No smoking beach. Parked in hotel about 5 mins walk away. Still a nice beach. Bar on site. Cocktail about Β£10. Found prices in general in this area to be much higher than other areas we had visited on the island.

Nice beach. Great view. Got shaded places under tree if you are worried to get burnt, plus the rental umbrella, you should be fine. Got all facilities you need and are pretty clean. It would be 5 stars if the stuffs can be nicer. We asked a lady who works there for helping us take a photo for all, however, she just turned around and ignored.

Breathtaking colours of the Caribbean sea. Just enjoy the white sand, the waves of the sea. There are good restaurants in the near. Perfect place to recharge your batteries.

Really nice facility for those staying in the area, but without beach access. The $6 USD entry fee isn't bad given how clean and beautiful the area is. You can pay for an umbrella and/or chair (reach $6 USD), or bring your own items. Bring your own equipment (or rent) for some smothering. Nice views for free, and even saw a large stingray. The food was good at the restaurant I'm the facility, but service was a bit of slow and good was costly. You have to clean up by 5ish (currently) but you can find places to stick around and enjoy a gorgeous sunset. Not very crowded on Christmas Day 2021, but could still be remnants of COVID travel challenges.

This beach has it all! You pay a reasonable entry fee (our hotel gave us free access included with our stay), and have lounger and umbrellas also for rent. There are service people that come around to offer food and drink. It’s very clean, beautiful, serene, and safe. There are plenty of shaded seating areas off the sand, and trees for shade on the sand depending on the time of day.

Probably one of my favorite beaches in Montego Bay hands down! The staff is friendly, the sand and water is clean...I love that I feel somewhat "exclusive", Starbucks is literally a hop and skip away, so I'm happy about that...there's food available for purchases, umbrellas and beach chairs for rent...there are waiters who will come and take your order so you won't have to get up...live music, designated changing rooms/bathrooms/wash areas..I love it! The only thing is parking. It's a bit difficult to find parking because there is no designated spot really, you're literally parking on the side of the road, my advice: go early so that you can get a good spot not far from the Doctor's Cave entrance but other than that...would recommend in a heartbeat!

Nice beach. There is an entree fee of $6 USD plus additional for beach chairs and umbrellas. We went in October 2021. Overall nice environment, wasn’t overcrowded. Few vendors here and there selling coconuts, etc. No alcohol allowed.

This is my favourite beach in Mobay The only thing that brings it down a star is all the money you need to spend to be comfortable Entrance fee plus chair plus umbrella I find it very expensive if you go every day. They should offer a 3 days pass or weekly pass. I like to get myself a hotel near the beach and walk to it That water is amazing I can literally stay in for a while. I have been there over 8-10 times It’s a must to visit at least once

Beautiful beach close to the city in Montego Bay. Entry costs $8. There are also loungers and umbrellas available to rent for $7 each. The beach is clean and the water is very clear, you can even see fish. There is a restaurant and a bar. There are also toilets, showers and lifeguards.

  • 4/5 Jonique T. 4 years ago on Google
Very nice. Its filled with tourists and when I went there you could hardly find place to put your chairs and umbrella but outside of that the beach itself was great. Water is cool and nice. Great bathrooms too. This is what attracts the tourists. Maybe a weekend would be better

A bit expensive because one has to pay entry fee on top of chair and umbrella. Friendly staff. The beach is beautiful and very convenient because we were staying right in front of the beach. The beach is clean and the sea is perfect!

Beautiful, paid beach with decent food options. Bring goggles and swim shoes because, if you hang out by the pier on the right, you'll see a ton of crabs and fish and some coral! If you're trying to avoid a surprise visit to Nemo and his buddies, stay to the left where you'll have clean sand and crisp blue waters. I wasn't too keen on going to a paid beach initially when I had several free options right next to my hotel, but being pestered to buy things and talk will wear on you, whereas here you will not have to endure any of it. Note: as of July, 2023, you cannot separately rent towels. I inquired at the gate and at their merch booth and everyone insisted they were not available for rent. Umbrellas are available, however. Great food and drink options on site, with music, too.

Really nice, well kept beach. Place to smoke, beach bar with food. Turquoise water with cool seashells and if you swim out past the floating trampolines you can see a small reef with plenty of cool coloured fish, provided you have a mask and snorkel. Day after day it gets expensive but pro tip: they never change the color of the stamp when you exit ;)

  • 5/5 Laura Z. 2 years ago on Google
Clean, quiet, and beautiful beach. Not much to see when snorkeling close in. You have to go to the furthest area to see reef and fish. I did see a sting ray on my swim in about 8’ of water. Relaxing, easy, and pleasant experience. Rented the umbrella and chair, which after paying the entry and tip, was $20. Worth the money! Jerk pork and bammy were also delicious. The sorrel Red Stripe beer was sweet and pleasant.

The beach was very clean, not very crowded and the changing rooms were very comfortable and clean. However there is no parking available for this beach so u are limited to parking on the side of the road and walking to the beach or pay for parking at another beach that's located near by then walk over to Doctor's Cave Beach. Would have given a 5 star rating if parking was available.

Great location, Close to Starbucks for drinks and people come around with fresh coconuts and fruits. Pay for the chair, the sand can be a bit rough. Also, check to see what time they close as curfew changed twice while I was visiting jamaica

Wonderful, clean, sandy beach. The waters are crystal clear and refreshingly warm, but watch your step! We saw a Caribbean Whiptail Stingray right at the shoreline, camouflaged just beneath the sand. It was only about 2 or 3 feet in front of us, so always walk in carefully. You can regularly see the planes flying in and out from the airport that is very close by, which is a unique experience.

Doctor's cave Beach is a private beach both for tourists and locals, who often times venture to this popular destination to enjoy its nice, beautiful, scenery... Or, even to take advantage of the ambiance there. Whether you are reading a book on the beach; while getting tanned, or even bouncing on the trampoline in the water, the experience is just amazing. Nice beach for swimming too, but the food is a bit pricey... The staff are also friendly and quiet personable.

Loved this place. Drinks served to you at your bed, reasonable prices and you're not hassled too much by beach sellers. It wasn't too crowded and very helpful staff carried our beds for us and placed them where we wanted. Huge (6 inch) fish in the shallow sea, plain to see even without snorkels. Plenty of shops, Starbucks etc.. just outside on the main stretch of road

In the rest of the world we are not used to pay for going on the beach. In Montago Bay it's the best place and you better pay than go some place else. Very well organized, leave your belongings on the chair and go swimming, no problem! A nice restaurant with modest prices makes this a place to swim and eat.

I didn’t expect to find such a gorgeous beach so close to Mobay airport. Blue sky, white sand, crystal clear water that’s perfect for swimming. Small and perfect really - the best beach we visited in 2 weeks of travelling around Jamaica

This place is exactly what you see in Caribbean travel ads. Deep, clean crystal clear water, lounging on a lawn chair under an umbrella with a frozen cocktail. Coconut palms on the beach, reggae music and gently crashing waves in the background. Nice little cafe serving fresh Jamaican and international food and great service. It’s a must for anyone staying at the hotels in the Hip Strip.

  • 4/5 Maria K. 3 years ago on Google
Visited here last weekend and enjoyed it. Every family group was socially distancing in the water and in the beach so it didn't feel over crowded, staff were all wearing masks. You can rent an umbrella but not loungers due to covid restrictions. Drinks at the bar are expensive for the size you get.

Let me first start off with WOW!!! Beautiful water and scenery. Very family friendly beach on the outskirts of Queens Drive in Montego Bay across from El Greco Resort. It costs Adult J$750, not sure what it is for children but you can always check their website. They have a drink and food menu should you decide to get something to eat or drink. Drinks may be a little overpriced BUT what I consider overpriced may not be what someone else thinks. Overall, great experience and a very beautiful place to have a beach day if you're in the Montego Bay area for vacation or otherwise.

  • 4/5 Adrienne M. 5 years ago on Google
Nice private beach with loungers you can rent and food and drink service. Cool coral reef in the swimming area that's great for snorkeling. Drinks were great, food was pretty decent but not awesome. Food pricing was consistent with the area. $6 US pp and $6 for a lounge chair which staff place on the beach wherever you like. It was mostly clean with a nice restaurant area. There are lifeguards, however, we did see a swimmer in distress and it took people running up to him from the beach ( who saw the situation literally in front of the guard platform) before he jumped into action. The only downside is some of the staff were a little too friendly and would constantly try to hang out with us .

The beach was clean and breathtakingly beautiful! The entire property was a sweet sight to experience and the staff was very helpful. We didn't have towels and they offered to walk with us across the road to get towels and the gentleman waited on us to finish and walked back with us. We had some really good encounters with the staff. The captain on the boat was knowledgeable and kind. He understood our fear of being on the water especially in the deep parts and was very kind and reassuring. It was an overall amazing experience. I'm definitely going back.
