Okay so I had to leave a review about this hidden jewel. The small boutique restaurant has everything that you would be looking for in a real Jamaican experience. I dine here every time I come to Jamaica. The food is always delicious and Mrs. Shawn and her husband are amazing cooks. They are located at the beginning of the hip strip and right beside the Altamont Hotel. You won't be disappointed!!!

For the past 2 years this has been my favourite spot for breakfast and lunch or even just to chill. As you walk along the Hip-Strip in Montego Bay, it's one of the easiest spots to run in for a cold Red Stripe beer or local Jamaican dishes. For me, the food is awesome and prepped on the healthy side, very tasty and never greasy. On the inside there's this old Jamaican look and feel, from the rum posters on the walls to the rustic authentic Jamaican look which brings you back to the good old days.

This comfy go-to place was our refuge for dinner daily on our Jamaican trip. We can't wait to return.

A great intimate restaurant in the heart of Montego Bay. Prices are highly reasonable and portions are generous. The owner was so helpful overall and even she arranged us a driver for a day trip. We also highly recommend the driver as he was also very helpful.

I ate here a couple times during my stay. I had turkey neck and bean stew and curry goat. I ate at all the restaurants up and down the Hip Strip and it’s the best Jamaican food I had here. But I’ve had Jamaican food in the States too and this little dive has them all beat. The meat is so tender, everything is perfectly seasoned, the woman at the counter is lovely, the prices are very good and you are cheating yourself of some really good food if you don’t stop in to this unassuming treasure. Cash only. You won’t regret it. One of the highlights of my vacation.

don't let the bar dive look discourage you from trying their food; possibly best goat and chicken curries we had, Jamaican home style, massive portions, friendly service, priced for locals rather than Hip Strip

Stop scrolling and just come here. Food was incredible! Best we’ve had during this trip so far. We had the curry chicken and stew beef. We’re already planning on coming back before leaving for a different part of the island. Don’t miss it!

Use to be more consistent in the pass now you can never be sure when they are open or closed. To be fair the beers as still the coldest in mobay.

When ever I am in Mobay I have to pop in to Sunset Bar to visit my friend and her husband who are the owners. They are very friendly and cook 100% authentic Jamaican style. Ask for Shawn and George. They will hook you up and take good care of you . They have a full bar and the Red Stripe is always nice and cold!!

“The Sunset Bar. A little Bar with a Big Heart” Often overlooked by tourists walking the Strip, but if you step inside you'll find a bar that's very popular with the locals and also receive a very warm welcome from the lady that runs the place. Perhaps the nearest thing to real Jamaica on the Hip Strip...serving proper, no frills, home cooked Jamaican food and ice cold Red Stripe at very reasonable prices that beat the tourist trap bars and restaurants eye-wateringly sky-high prices hands down.
