This restaurant is not a tourist trap. The food is fresh, flavorful and of high quality. I had the lobster carbonara pasta dish and it was delicious and a huge portion size. I also had a Jamaican mango daiquiri and it was a little too sweet with very little alcohol. This cocktail was the only disappointment for me so I still highly recommend this restaurant. I came in solo for lunch (around 3:00 PM) and it was such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing environment. Service was excellent. My server was efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. Patricia who takes the reservations is an asset to the restaurant. She quickly responded to my online reservation and came to greet me in person before I left the restaurant. She is very nice. Ashawn who brought me to the footsteps of the restaurant is also very nice and welcoming.

Stopped in on Tuesday afternoon and just had the best experience. I don’t even want to let people know it was that fun. We had a great lunch. The House Boat Grill is about a 10 minute walk from the pier if you come into the bay on a cruise. The recently started to open for lunch about noon. The dishes are reasonably priced and prepared fresh and we’re great. My favorite had to be the grilled octopus. Followed close by the grilled calamari and the snapper dish. The best hot sauce served was the scotch bonnet pepper sauce. Ok wait the best dish was the conch cake. Yep. Great colorful atmosphere wide open windows. You even have to take a hand pulled ferry across the lagoon to get there. The redstripe was cold and the rum tasty. Go visit.

Overall I highly recommend it. We went to eat before the dinner rush and mosquitoes shortly after it opened. The food was amazing with great portions. We tried the beef tacos and charred octopus. Both were flavorful. I loved my lobster carbonara pasta with plenty of lobster and noodles were perfectly cooked. My spouse ordered the surf and turf. The steak was cooked medium as we requested. Cons I did try a signature drink called the Jamaican something (I don't recall the full name) but it was ok but clearly a forgetful experience. Next time I'll try their white sangria. My only other complaint was that the restaurant doesn't accept American Express.

The best dinner we had in Jamaica! Really cute atmosphere and the food was delicious! The staff were great and the food came out hot and very quickly. A really romantic little place that is perfect for a vacation date. You can even say hi to the awesome kitchen staff through a little window❀️

Great place. We had lunch and the food was great. Staff was very professional and welcoming. You can order your lobster and pick the one that you want. There is a small platform to access to the boat which add to the experience. Highly recommend especially for lunch since it might be easier to get a table than at night.

Omg, took my mom here for her bday. We had a very good time, to this day she continues to boast about it, the food was top of the line and the boathouse experience was great, staff was incredible and made arrangements for us to relocate our seat when we asked last min. I'm very proud to know great places like this is in Jamaica, I am certainly coming back, next visit with hubby shortly!.....BTW prices are reasonable, you should definitely goπŸ‡―πŸ‡²β›±οΈπŸ‘

This restaurant is a whole experience...its the little things for me. The restaurant is literally a boat and you get to the boat which is only a few feet off the shore by a "push" ferry ( its the cutest thing ever) if you order lobster you get to pick the one you want from the tank in y he flooring. The service was top notch and the bartender made the PERFECT AMARETTO SOUR!!! Everyone needs to try this place!!

This was a unique experience for me. If you are not looking for the restaurant, you will miss it. The ride in the ferry boat to get to the entrance was a special touch. The decor was not exceptional, but it was as expected for a house boat. We were seated outside for an 8 p.m. dinner. The view if the city lights across the water was spectacular. We saw a very large fish and several smaller fish swimming around the boat. Then, we saw a jelly fish that looked like a flower. The drinks (dirty martini and lychee martini) were so so. This particular night they were out of ginger beer for the mules. For appetizers, my friend had the grilled calamari. It was very flavorful and not chewy. I had the panko crusted garlic shrimp. Loved it. For entrees my friend had the surf and turf while I had the snapper. Our server suggested that if you don't like any pink, x order the medium well, not well done. She was spot on. The turf was steak, the surf was lobster, but not whole. The snapper was cooked to perfection. Crispy skin. Not dry. The sauce had a little kick (for an American), but not too much. The portions were generous. We were both too full for dessert. The price point is on the mid to high end. If you are looking for a laid back, different dining experience with excellent food, House Boat Grill is the place to go.

Was looking for somewhere to have an early birthday lunch... this was the perfect place. Literally in a house on the water. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My server Marie was attentive without being overbearing... will hopefully be back soon.

We chose this as the place to celebrate some birthdays during our ladies trip to Jamaica. The atmosphere was wonderful! Remember to wear bug spray or bring a citronella candle. I especially enjoyed the short pulley ride to the boat when we arrived. The drinks were tasty, although not very strong. I had the white sangria, an amaretto sour and a Tia Maria in lieu of dessert. The sour was the best of the 3. I wasn't impressed by the mains offered as nothing but the snapper stood out, but I'd had snapper earlier that day. I ordered the char-grilled octopus, the panko-crusted shrimp and the lobster cake from the starter menu. The shrimp were the best of the 3, but everything was pretty generic IMO. The lobster cake had too much filler and the octopus could have used a sauce. Maybe this is the restaurant people choose when they don't want more traditional Jamaican flavors, but I was a little underwhelmed. You come here for the novelty and the view. I wish I could say more...

My husband and I had a great dinner at the Houseboat Grill. We were lucky enough to be seated on the upper deck; even in the evening, the atmosphere is beautiful. We ordered the beef rib taco, conch cake, salmon, and beef tenderloin. The beef rib taco was sooo good! We were tempted to order another, but our entrees were coming out. I wish I could order the taco back home because the flavors were exceptional. Out of all the dinners during our stay in MoBay, the Houseboat Grill definitely stands out.

This place was a great way to end our vacation! You are on the water, so you take a mini 'ferry' to the restaurant. We ordered the snapper and the lemon pepper shrimp, both of which were delicious. We also got the octopus as an appetizer, which was excellently grilled. Our servers were attentive and friendly. They even double checked to make sure that the taxi that picked us up was legit before we left. A tip: put on some bug spray before you go, especially if you request an outside table.

Mom had vegetarian pasta but added shrimp with a side of cabbage. Her meal was awesome! I had fileted red snapper which was awesome being from the states as I don't prefer a whole fish. It came with a risotto cake and I substituted cabbage for the slaw. Drinks were good as well but could've used more rum.

So I went to this restaurant with my mom on her birthday. Was our first time going there. The view was really nice and it was quiet so we liked that. But the food took almost 2 hours to get to us, didn't like that. I didnt enjoy the food either. Maybe it was just what I chose because a customer had said the surf and turf was good. My mom took the surf and turf and I got salmon with wild rice Also told the waitress it was my mom's birthday prior to ordering. Usually when I go to restaurants I'm accustomed to the singing or playing of the happy birthday song and a little slice of cake or ice cream with a candle whenever you tell them it's someone's birthday. But what happened here was the waitress just brought us a plate with whipped cream on it and a candle. She did say happy birthday though and offered us a spoon for the whipped cream lol We politely declined and thanked her for the gesture and asked her to return the plate of whipped cream. It made the visit a little disappointing for me The waitress then explained that it's because we never ordered dessert that's why they only placed whipped cream on the plate and brought it. I didnt know this prior, so, just a heads up in case someone decides to go for a birthday dinner. But I still enjoyed the view and being out on the water so the 3 points for that. Forgot to mention we also had panko crusted garlic shrimp -was a little burnt but I enjoyed that.

The food here was good as was the service. We were a group of 8 and 30% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. To get to the restaurant, you have to take a short ride on a raft. We were seated on the upper deck which gave us a beautiful view of the cityscape.

It was a party of six of us. We reached about 8:30 and waited a little over an hour for the entrees. Ordered the surf and turf, the lobster was extremely bland and the steak was over seasoned. The mashed potatoes also aren't seasoned and taste like old boiled potatoes. The wait time for waitress was ridiculous. Please don't waste your money if you're coming for food, the ambiance is what you pay for and even that isn't worth it.

We’re we’re excited to try this place since our had plenty of good reviews so our expectations were high. When we arrived we were greeted but the hostess acted like we didn’t make a reservation. Our server was polite and nice but we felt neglected- not her fault since she the only server on the 2nd floor with 4 med to large size parties. We didn’t realize that we were supposed to get complimentary bread until we noticed the table around us (even people who arrived after us) got them except for our table. Our food took a while but it was still good. We asked for the bread when our food arrived but it never came. Overall our experience was ok and over hyped. I would prefer to eat at a hole in a wall restaurant.

Great and safe restaurant outside of the resort. It was first time there, recommended by locals. The food was outstanding and the view at night. I recommend for great food near Montego Bay.

I rarely give 5 stars and I've given one to this place. I attended dinner here with a party of 21. We were an hour late and still were accommodated promptly. **I don't recommend being this late to a reservation because you may not get the same results. I think we got lucky that the place was not packed out. I can only speak for mine and my husband's meal..... we ordered the pasta; he had shrimp and I had lobster. Let me tell you hunni! That's was arguably the best pasta I've had in my life. The noodles: were perfect The sauce: was not runny but plenty to keep the dish saturated. The flavor taste as if it had been perfected over generations. The lobster: was cooked and seasoned perfectly. **normally when I have lobster its overcooked and tough with little to no seasoning. This was exceptional!! I've broken down the ingredients to my pasta but keep in mind it was all one dish, not separate. I normally don't eat pasta leftovers.... you know I ate this the next day right?? So good... so good! If you're reading this, you definitely should try it!
